@@TacomaDad I would imagine that’s a ton of cutting. Have any pics or another vid of it? I’d love to check it out. Would you do it again? Wondering how big I’d want to go with mine. Lol
Oh man I’ve had enough of them! It’s one thing to capture the moment, it’s another when they act like it’s so CRAZY, and IMPOSSIBLE. Lol, thanks for watching!
Tire’s definitely were terrible. It was a a cheap set I picked up used, while I waited for the new ones to get delivered. Wheel speed then sudden braking didn’t help either lol
Love the Condescending narration brother!. What you need is 8 KC lights (the big ones up top) and tell everybody “hold my beer and watch this”...... at least that’s what I do. Sweet rig and great videos man!.
I love it man. My 17 tacoma has been stock untill now and Im only getting 5100s with 265 ko2s. all the money saved goes toward more trips with my wife and kids.
Your front driver side tire wasn't spinning at all. That's super weird. My 2019 trd sport won't let that happen. It applies the brake to the spinning tire pretty hard. What trim is this tacoma? I feel like mine would have gone right up it. Then again everything looks easy on the video and maybe mine would've even come close 😆 🤣 i also don't have any added lights so not as good off road.
That’s just what happens when you have an open front differential. The tire that has the most pressure on, will not spin, but the opposite will. If it had a front locker both tires would spin at the same time. Trac control was off but that’s normal in 4lo. Your sport is pretty much the same as mine but I do have a rear locker installed and yours has a scoop hood and other appearance/ tech things. Videos don’t do stuff justice at all lol but who knows! You may have walked right up it. Lmao, you know they say - lights before lockers
Would the yellow wire mod have made a difference here? Tacomaworld yellow wire mod. Look it up and inform me. I’d like to know. Love your videos and subscribed.
Lockers, re-gear, tune and recovery/protection, everything else is IG fluff. Did you happen to record any of the trail fixes? Making want to carry 2 CVs now instead of one.
One of the main things, smaller tires lol. These 37s are killers of cvs. I just know to keep the wheel speed down and not let the truck “hop”. Could get beefier cvs but I wanted the cvs to break before something else more expensive did. Like the front diff.
@@TacomaDad The front diffs are amazingly tough but it doesn't make sense to pour money into RCV chomoly axles, lower gears and lockers if you're going to do an SAS. I'm looking in the local classifieds for a Dana 60 for mine right now to go with the Martec Engineering swap kit unless I decide to fab it all up myself. Fun stuff!
I believe this might be the coolest third gen on youtube. How many people have a taco box in their tacoma. Not many. And on 37s, total nuts man. Plus i total dig the flat bed. Sweet build and cant wait to see whats next!!!
would you recommend trading in my sport for an offraod because it has a beefier rear axle and crawl control? About to be at the point i can afford aftermarket tires and stuff but i wanna have the right base
Right before you said front locker I was watching the passenger front spinning in the leaves and driver front not moving on the rock thinking that a front locker would make a world of difference lol Love the build! I'm very much looking forward to see your rig after the SAS. I dream to SAS my 16 double cab long bed one day, haha one day!! Great videos 🤙
Yeah without a doubt a front locker would be a huge help. I cannot wait to start the sas. It’s gonna be fun! One day you’ll do it! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it
I follow you on IG, how come you thought about selling your truck? Just curious as it’s crossed my mind as well. Also, don’t listen to the haters. Some people just don’t get it.
I was going to get a full size to use as a work truck, but decided to keep this and when I need it I’ll buy a full size. It was a confusing time lol Oh I don’t, I find them hilarious 🤣 Thanks for watching and following! 🤘🏻
You need the u bolt flip kit for those rear leaf springs!
I’m getting the parts to do the 63 swap. They need it badly
Love your style! Send it!! What did you do to the front to stuff the 37’s?
Lots of cutting. Tubbed the firewall on both sides, some metal messaging with a bfh.
@@TacomaDad I would imagine that’s a ton of cutting. Have any pics or another vid of it? I’d love to check it out. Would you do it again? Wondering how big I’d want to go with mine. Lol
Love the Narrative!😂😬
Too much rotating mass for those stock CVs. I worry about them when I get slippage but since I'm on stock 31's, breakage is lower but not impossible.
For sure. My mistake was spinning tires and sliding, natural reaction was to hit the brakes.
Front locker worth every penny. I know you know but I had to say it.
I just snapped my drivers on 07 FJ 😂😂😂
Haaaaahaaaaa agree 100% at 1:08. These guys with all these viewers and followers as they ride fire roads and do glamor shots. Drives me crazy.

Honestly I feel like you need some decent tires at least don’t have to a expensive brand but it would’ve helped all that spinning you doing 😮
Tire’s definitely were terrible. It was a a cheap set I picked up used, while I waited for the new ones to get delivered. Wheel speed then sudden braking didn’t help either lol
Modern trucks cannot handle big tires. everything breaks.
True-ish. If I wasn’t beating on it it most likely would last, but what’s the fun in that?
Thanks for watching!
@1:53 🤘👏 Subscribed. Because of the mindset, because of the attitude, and because it's an SR5

Modern trucks are JUNK!
your friends must love wheeling with you
They probably don’t. But if you are worried about what your friends think when you break stuff wheeling, you need new friends.
@@TacomaDad true that
Lockers, re-gear, tune and recovery/protection, everything else is IG fluff. Did you happen to record any of the trail fixes? Making want to carry 2 CVs now instead of one.
Truth!
No, since I film and do the repairs/ wheeling, I end up not getting video of stuff like that. I definitely don’t go out without one.
Yes, show a trail cv axle fix.
Oh, and great videography. No stupid music. Just the sound of what’s going on and your narrative.
Will definitely do that next time!
Thanks for watching
I thoroughly enjoy your opinion on tacoma influencers hahahaha, we approach builds similarly.
I love the message you delivered at the beginning of the video.
Yeah buddy, someone’s got to say it!
@@TacomaDad Damn straight!
So what modifications could you have done to prevent so much stress on the cv axles to improve reliability?

Was your tacobox engaged?
No. I only used it once that day. Needed more speed (well at least I thought I did)
Front locker would have pulled you up that - dollar for dollar best investment for sure !
Definitely would have helped! I did do a recent video where it walked right up. New tires, less psi and less throttle helps a lot too.
Do you disconnect your sway bar? Looked for the front was flexing that much, even for an IFS rig.
Yeah I haven’t ran the sway bar for quite a while now. It helps a lot being off
Who cares what others says or thinks. Your truck your fun!!! :)
Oh for sure. I’m just poking fun back at them. Idgas what they think lol.

If you wanna take it offroad, definitely. They come with a rear locker as well and that will take you a lot of places. Crawl control will help too!
Instead of spending anymore money SAS it and you can keep your 37 radials lol

Did they both break on the same side?
They did. Both drivers side.
@@TacomaDad was the replacement one that also broke an OEM or local auto part store?
It was an auto part store one. Buddy had it and I don’t remember where he got it
RCV time?!

You right

Haha thanks for watching!
I would have used some traction mats right there
I’ve used them in both of those spots. What would have really helped was a front locker. Could have aired down more and went right up
If they get the job done and they work for you, that’s all that matters
Edit: talking about the tires.
They could be beefier but it’s what I have atm and I can’t not wheel lol
