This is 'comfort food'! My mother always had a pot of cooked rice for us. For breakfast she would warm some rice in a skillet, scramble some eggs onto it, add butter, salt & pepper & serve! Just a simple filling, delicious & inexpensive breakfast. My 2 year old great g'daughter loves it! Thank you for this memory 🤗😀

You must try her "easy mexican rice" like her dad used to make.. the charro beans and stewed beef (carne guisada) sooo yummy!! (Among many other recipes)

I love this recipe, even though its probable very common in the US, most people over here have never even heard of it 🙈 I live in the netherlands, specifically the northern part which is called 'friesland' and people here are very stuck in their potato with veggies, gravy and meat diets 🙈 Unfortunately my stomach doesnt really hold down boiled potato that well and things like rice and pasta is no problem, but good recipes here are virtually non existent 😬 So i am very happy people like you still put even the most common and easiest recipes up, because its really helping people like me cook some awesome stuff 👌🤤 thank you!
When I was little (68 years ago) and didn't feel well my mom would make me sweet egg fried rice. Similar to your recipe day old rice, egg mixed with dark soy and sugar (no garlic or onion). When I'm under the weather I make it for myself because it's one of the fondest memories of my mom cooking something very simple, but very special just for me. Any other Asian subscribers cringed a little when Mama left those few grains of rice on the baking sheet? LOL!

I've been making it like this for years. It was always a request from my son. But because I always made it for teenage kids who eat three times what anyone else eats, I have to figure out how to make only enough for my husband and me now that all of the kids are gone. Lol

Fried rice is basically what you want it to be, add your proteins or whatever if you want and play around with the flavors. This is just a simple recipe for people not accustomed to cooking this dish to get their feet wet. Personally I'm partial to kimchi fried rice with a bit of bacon.

Yep, it's an easy one pan meal...I throw in some frozen peas and left over meat such as chicken, shrimp, ham, or pork. Yummy!!!

This is exactly how I do mine and I also throw in 6 nice size shrimp that I par boiled for 2 mins to get pink.

Day old medium grain rice cooked in a rice cooker. Long grain rice works but I have tons of Korean medium grain rice. 😊
I use jasmine rice. I’m sure it works with any rice
