If the built in codec was different from the codec in update, the sound goes off and the problem with rode wireless comes in. - Only some FX3 cameras are affected. - Hardware is intact. - It's possible to fix the problem using software tools only. - It's possible to downgrade the software. - The Specialist thinks that Sony could fix the problem in software update, but they don't want to. Instead they want consumers to bring their cameras to service centers to get "the repairs", and good for them if they bought the officially imported cameras that were meant for their region. - Sony didn't provide the necessary tools to the service center in Russia. - The Specialist is not working in Russian Sony service center. - I'm not in direct contact with the Specialist, but it's not hard to find his service in Russia. - Eventually similar tools may be developed by other Specialists in other countries and go public - Users from Countries that are friendly to Russia can get help too if they send their cameras to Moscow via CDEK.
I bought my FX3 from HongKong to UK. I received it on version 2.0X and everything was working fine. I decided to update my camera the other day to v4.0 and I've now got this issue. I've tried factory resetting the camera and using different batteries but nothing works. It's still under warranty so I'm going to let Panamoz deal with this, as there seems no way for me myself to fix this.
Same problem here! The camera arrived today with the v2.00 updated to 2.02 and boom 💥 the sound disappeared. Returning it tomorrow and will reorder again till they fix the problem. So exciting for it till my day is ruined.
I bought a camera with version 2.0 in Portugal. It worked perfectly, all European languages were preinstalled in it from the factory (it was packed by the factory and was not opened). But after installing firmware 2.02, the sound from the internal microphones disappeared, there is also no sound from the external microphone, and the speaker does not work when watching a video. There is also no sound coming into the headphones. If you connect a hot shoe, then there is sound from the external microphone, but it is still not in the headphones. I realized this only 3 weeks after installation, because before that the sound was not required in the video. And today I’m going on a trip to shoot something new where I need to write sound, I’m doing control of my microphones and then such a surprise.
It's our common problem. Please reach Sony Support and ask them to fix this problem via software update. Also please show your camera to the official service center. The more cases they will recognize, the more likely they will try to fix this problem via software.
@@techta1k No, in version 3.0 they did not fix the problem with sound. As the internal microphone and audio input did not work, unfortunately 🤷🏻♂️. Microphone works only through the hot shoe.
@@romagobess5875 it's fixed not by an update but by a specialist. You need someone who has skills to downgrade firmware and do cleaninstall of 3.0. If you live in a country friendly to Russia, you can send your camera to Moscow to a specialist here who can do the job.

Film a prove and send it to Sony Support in your country with S/N and proofs. They've told me "noone reported this issue" so they don't know about it. We need to make it sure they will know about this issue.

But these languages were added via a software mod in the shop which led to this problem. I've sent a report to sony, hope they will fix it. That's our only hope. I have just update to 2.01 from 2.00 and my issue is far worse. My FX3 just keeps rebooting over and over even if I turn the power off. There is no way at all to get into the menu and none of the buttons work at all. Whats even more annoying is it worked perfect with 2.00 and I didn't even really need 2.01

I have the same issue - it only works with the top handle, which makes using on a gimbal a pain.

I have just update to 2.01 from 2.00 and my issue is far worse. My FX3 just keeps rebooting over and over even if I turn the power off. There is no way at all to get into the menu and none of the buttons work at all. Whats even more annoying is it worked perfect with 2.00 and I didn't even really need 2.01
