I agree 100% and removed the front the very next day plus I found out that some of the sensors are behind the front logo. The back is still on and holding up perfectly. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment
looks really good but I agree with you, I am not sure about the front grill. I would suggest you keep it for a few weeks and then see if it grows on you
Back looks great. How has it held up with the trunk button being inside the H? As for the front I did a medium smoke vinyl film which still allows for you to see the hyundai emblem but makes it a little darker. In my opinion resulting in a cleaner, less prominent logo.
Looks good. Gives it a sportier look. Kid bought a white one also. The new Sonata is nicer than any car in it's category in every aspect feature and looks wise nicest by far. I would go even as far as saying it is even better or gives the higher end cars a run for their money.
No it is not, I’ve been driving my 2020 sonata with plasti-dip on the front emblem for 2 months now and I still get every safety notification and all of my smart cruise control works perfectly fine. If you look on the backside of the rear-view mirror that is where all of the sensors are. Mine also looks a lot better because I have a darker colored sonata
@@austinpartin7146 The user manual indicates the emblem is the forward radar. There is a rain sensor and camera (for lane detection) behind the mirror. It's possible the thin layer of plastidip just doesn't affect the radar.
wow! I hope Hyundai starts to do this to all of there cars but if not, looks like it will be a fun thing to do one weekend. you made it look easy bro, great job! Not sure about the front thou, 100% keep the back thou
This was a great idea and it looks definitely like it "belongs." As to the front emblem, yep, it definitely needs something, but no suggestions yet. What I would also like to have seen is how you removed the excess Plasti-Dip from around all the lettering. Save the Wave.🙋🏼♂️
Thanks Peter, I have received a few comments about the same thing........I thought that since pasti dip is so popular that most people have already seen how to peel it off, guess I was wrong ;o) I will likely remove the front section, i agree, something just doesn't seem right.
Thanks Robert. Yes, I for one know that Plasti Dip is removable, but I would have thought you'd have to use an exacto knife to outline the letters first to get such a clean look when peeling the Plasti off.
I don’t know if it’s available at all dealerships but at least it’s a Hyundai dealership near me they will have a dealer blackout as well. I guess it really all just depends on the dealer you go to.
WTF not only did you paint over the sensors in the front emblem. Why would a big black hole look good? Also that pinstripe looks terrible and ruins the body lines
Good job… I NEED HELP I HAVE THE SAME CAR 2022, HOW DO U GET OFF THE SPEED LIMIT WARNING VOICE??? For the SPEED CAMERAS???? Its driving me insane , do u have the voice warning???
The black emblems look great on the back of the Sonata! I do have to agree with you, I'm not sure about the front emblem. I personally do not think it looks great as I feel from a distance it would look like you dont have a badge there at all. An idea may be to smoke it out, I know theres a smoke lens Plasti Dip that you can buy at auto zone or advanced auto and that may give it a nice darker look while still being able to see the emblem!
That is a really good idea, I may do that within the next few week. I know I didn't love it when I first saw the front but loved the back. Thanks for watching and for commenting
I’m seriously looking to buy the Sonata; how much did you get it out the door if you don’t mind sharing? Unlike with the Accord and Camry that have a lot of info from ppl on what they can be bought for..I’m not seeing similar info for the Sonata from real world owners
Looks awesome!!! I love the back, that looks perfect and you should leave it. As for the front, I am also not sure how it looks......I am thinking you should remove it and keep the front stock but damn; great job!
Came out awesome. I have the identical car/color/trim and was originally thinking of rebadging, now gonna go this route. How hard was removing it in and around the letters? With as many coats as you have done do you expect it to last more than a year? Is it automatic car wash safe? And would I need to sorry about it coming off when towel drying car after the auto wash?
Thanks bro! Yes, this is a better bet than replacing the emblems themselves. it wasn't hard at all and now I regret not recording that part. A tip would be to not put on a thick coat where the letters met the body of the car because when you peel off the plasti dip, it breaks away in the "weaker" bonding areas. However, the best part of it all, if you mess up, start over again....super cheap and a good distraction to the news of the day. Have fun and best of luck
@@blazing9034 how easy is it to clean between the lettering after removing the tape? Never seen this before somwas.reallybaorried ablut.ypu paint job. I love the back....on the front do you think if you had stopped at 2 coats it would have still shown the H?
The more I look at the front, the less I like it, LOL......I knew I loved the back from the minute I saw it thou ;o) thanks for watching and thanks for commenting
Thank you so much and I appreciate what you are doing on your RUclips channel. You definitely changed my view on certain things and if all goes well, you saved me $72k in interest that I will not be paying 😀
@@blazing9034 That is so dope! Me and J were watching and rewinding your video like wait...how'd he get the black paint off of the car...LoL. The changes looked really nice...great job!
The Emblems on the Back look Great. Hyundai Really should Offer a Gloss Black Trim Option, but with the Front Emblem, because it is Flat with No 3 Dimensionallity to it I think You would be better off Tinting It with a Dark Tint like people do to Smoke Headlights and Taillights. Just dark enough to let the Hyundai H show through, but town it down.
Is it possible to watch you apply the spray for a little while longer? YES , I'm being sarcastic here ... we could have skipped over most of that and not almost fallen asleep a few times during it!!
Back looks good but doing the front emblem was a mistake
Yes, you are 100% correct... the front was a mistake and I removed it the next day, lol! Thanks for watching and drive safely
Back looks great, as for the front remove the plasti dip it looked good stock
I agree 100% and removed the front the very next day plus I found out that some of the sensors are behind the front logo. The back is still on and holding up perfectly. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment
Doing the front would probably result in problems with Adaptive Cruise Control, the radar is underneath the face of the emblem
Awesome clean look. How do you remove that front plate bracket?
Did the dip come off the paint clean and did u have to wipe it down ??
How do u peel it off and get it to stick to the Emlem ?
Now that I am locked in my home for the next home; I am totally going to do this! GREAT idea
Send me pics of your completed plasti dip work. It was a fun little mod
Does plasti-dipping the front of emblem effect the radar?
That is a really smart idea! When I get my 2020 Sonata i am going to do that as well.......what a difference for only $6.00!!! wow, great job
looks really good but I agree with you, I am not sure about the front grill. I would suggest you keep it for a few weeks and then see if it grows on you
Thank you, looks like the front emblem will be going back to stock soon
How’d you remove the extra paint around the letters so perfectly
Agreed! Please tell me!
I think the black out looks Hella sick brotha but you can add a sticker or a glowing emblem to the front would really put a look on it
You should of spray tinted the front emblem. The black out looks weird. I tinted my KIA emblem and they look amazing
Looks awesome!! You are right, especially for the white Sonatas....the black emblems look much better
Thanks for watching and thank you for the support

As for the sensor on the front. No issues ever with it having a vinyl over it.
The front logo is a sensor so u need to take it off the front one
Yes, I realized that the next day and took it off... lololo.... not only did it not look right but it was also a safety hazard, lol

The front emblem looks better if you tint it instead of plastidip
The mirrors black wld look great to

I did a vinyl gloss black wrap on my front emblem.
Looks like something fell off the front. Leave the back take off the front.
Donnie & Andrea I agree with you 100% and removed the front but left the back alone.
It is the same tint they spray on break lights.

Out the door for an SEL plus without the tech package you’re looking at 30,000
That is one step below the limited (top trim)
With the tech package I got the Sel plus otd 27k
The front didnt do it. Wont happen like that on my N Line
Very nice job man, maybe I'll do something like this to the rims of my black nline lol

Thanks and I agree with you
How did you get the black paint and gloss off the car and get the white back?
Plasti Dip is a rubber coating and peels off but somehow stays on where you want it to stay on....
I love the back but I don’t like the front
I agree with you 100% I actually removed the plasti drip from the from the very next day lol
Back looks good but I think you should peel front off
