Suisei is the idol of the Hololive that is for sure. Before this she also was a vtuber she just put allot of work into everything and worked her ass off
"Was she a professional vocalist before the vtuber thing?" Nope! In the early days, she was self taught. And that's why her fanbase adores her so much. She's self made. In the early days, every traditional idol agency and every vtuber agency rejected her or didn't give her enough money to fund her projects. That didn't stop her. She put her nose to the grindstone and slowly clawed her way to the top. Now she's the gold...no...diamond standard of the industry. Btw, she does have a live drummer during live concerts. Please pray for him. Oh yeah...I almost forgot. Welcome to the Rabbithole! Enjoy your stay!
If you're into Acapella stuff, suisei's song "planetarium" is absolutely insane in every way possible, she has come out and say that there were i think 12 layers at most in that song, all her voice being layered together
Some time after stellar stellar,Suisei and Taku Inoue formed a separate music unit named Midnight Grand Orchestra having released 2 albums already. While it isn't the most popular track of the newest album (Starpeggio),i feel like Blackhole Dancehall would be a very interesting song to break down. Love the reactions and keep it up ❤
Yeah. Blackhole Dancehall is certainly great. But it is also a first song where I can clearly hear her using autotune (at the start of a song before ooh ooh oh part). Sounds a bit weird. And now you are cursed with this knowledge too. But I think it was deliberate, to make it more robotic or something
@@Maxodex True, yeah. That's what I thought too. Cause it's very obvious, it sounds like they did it not to correct the pitch, but to color it a certain way. So yeah... But I am not a big fan of this color. I like this song though. And I also like Mumei's Mumei song that also has autotune, an ungodly amount of that, on the verge of being a vocaloid sound... Yet I like it... Idk. I'm yapping. Sorry
Suisei might be the most talented singer out of all the Vtubers i know. From what I've heard she got recruited because of her musical talent more than just the abilty to stream and is the only one in Hololive who kept her appearance and name from before she joined them
Other Hololive gems include Bae, Nerissa, IRyS and Risu, to name but a few. But it's true that Suisei has sung more songs and given her voice more opportunity to develop
>From what I've heard she got recruited because of her musical talent more than just the abilty to stream I mean, considering she was the 2nd member of INNK I think that's a safe assumption.
She was actually rejected by Hololive at first. the thing with vt corpos is that they will custom made a vtuber model and vtuber name/identity for you. so Suisei was trying to apply hoping that her self-made Suisei model+Identity stays, so alot of corporations rejected her. so she tried applying again for a second chance, stating that she was willing to compromise as much as she can just so that her Identity as Suisei stays and she doesnt have to start over with a new name she was accepted, but she was to join their music label, Innonaka Music rather than the main branch. things happened (mainly Innonaka going under) and Suisei (and AZKi, the other member of Innonaka) merged into the main branch
@@Faucon_Bleu Yeah, true. I love all of them and also Watame, Sora, Towa and Polka, they are great singers too. And AZKi and Kiara... There are lots of great singers there. BUT you think of it backwards. Suisei has more songs (total amt) than most of them (almost all of them excluding AZKi and Sora, I think) for a reason. And then it feedbacks. So her voice still develops, she's getting better and better and... yeah, she's not done, that's not even her final form. I am biased, I am a fan. But I think that's basically an objective truth
Thanks for the reaction! Stellar Stellar is one of my all-time favorite songs due to... every aspect of it. Taku Inoue and Suisei are such a great duo. Suisei has never had any formal vocal training. Essentially self taught... which is wild.
She performed this on The First Take, with an acoustic arrangement! Taku Inoue has a lot of songs with Suisei under the Midnight Grand Orchestra duo, and they also released 3:12 (or Sanji Juunihun)
This was the title track for Suisei's first album, and she REALLY wanted InuTaku to produce it. By sheer coincidence he discovered Suisei on his own and decided he wanted her to provide vocals for a song of his. From that we initially got two songs, 3:12 (on InuTaku's channel) and Stellar Stellar, and the two of them enjoyed working together so much they decided to continue working together on a collab project called Midnight Grand Orchestra. Highly recommend checking out 3:12, MGO stuff, or really anything Suisei has done. Which isn't to discount the other Holomem's either, but I'd be here for at least an hour trying to decide what all songs to recommend.
She wasn't a professional before Vtuber you would be surprised to hear her first song release in early career like comet from 2018 and Tenkyuu from 2019
I'd also like to add: Marine and Kobo - III (Original) Calliope Mori - end of a life (Original) Towa - ANEMONE (Original) Towa - My Roar (Original) Basically any song by Towa tbh Advent - Rebellion (Original) Justice - ABOVE BELOW (Original) Amane Kanata - Unravel (Cover, specifically from her 3D live) Tsunomaki Watame - My Song (Original)
Very excited that you might be getting into Suisei’s music! She’s one of my favorite singers ever, and she has plenty of work to review, definitely would love to see more!
Stellar Stellar THE FIRST TAKE is a must listen if you enjoyed this one. Also Taku Inoue is a pretty GOATed composer. His work for Crazy Crazy and Radio Happy from iM@S Cinderella Girls are probably my favorites of his alongsode Stellar Stellar. I do believe because he worked with Bandai Namco he has a few songs in their other games like Tekken, but I can't remember exactly.
theres a show called "the first take" - Suisei was the first VTuber there and performed "Stellar Stellar" in 1 take live. and one of her newer songs "Michizure". also i cannot recommend "アスノヨゾラ哨戒班 / Startend cover" enough. Its by Minato Aqua, Tokoyami Towa and Hochimachi Suisei. Its one of my all time favorites.
Suisei is regarded as one of the top singers in Hololive (the VTuber company that primarily hires people based on their abilities of streaming to a live audience and their singing abilities), one of the others that can be considered part of the top tier with Suisei is Ayunda Risu (from Hololives Indonesian branch) and her song called “Alice&U”. FYI both Suisei and Risu are mostly self taught singers and have only gotten training AFTER joining Hololive, so now everyone wonders “what’s their ceiling?”.
Should've turned on the english captions for the reaction tbh. I would love to see how you think of the jp translated to en music's lyrics and how it got the name "Stellar Stellar".
She has done live performances of this, and yes it is insane. As far as we all know, she started as a regular vtuber who liked singing, but she has been taking lessons and training for years now, so by the point this song came out it would be fair to call her a professional singer, among other things. Suisei is VERY talented, and she works really hard, some of it is luck but more importantly, from a distance she seems like an unstopable force, she wants to do more, and better, and nothing will stand in her way.
Towa and Watame got some great heavier/metal/rock songs (Towa - My Roar, Amenone or U.F.O. - U Feel Overjoyed! ) (Watame - Revival, Everlasting Soul, Go my way (punk rock style) and Mayday Mayday wich has 2 version now one solo with MV and a new collab version with mori calliope) there is def some hololive Members that want to focus on music like Suisei and Watame , making albums, solo live concerts, etc.
Hoshimachi Suisei is pretty much self made Singer and Idol coming from being a Indie VTuber, she worked hard being where she is now and is talented enough that HoloLive compromises on how she proceeds with her career. I kinda feel bad for if there are future analysis' on other VTubers cuz this was peak production lmao.
This is from a few years into her vtubing career, so she assuredly had training since then, but when she started she had no professional training or experience. She just had a good ear and a great if untrained voice. Her rise to arguably the top singing talent at Hololive is a real "diamond in the rough" story--a moniker she's called herself since the very beginning. I've been a huge fan ever since GHOST--which was "her song" before Stellar Stellar was "her song." (and before that, NEXT COLOR PLANET, and before that, Tenkyuu...) It's got a great drum part too! "It's your shooting star, your diamond in the rough, idol vtuber Hoshimachi Suisei! Sui-chan is cute today too!"
Suisei is a Hololive singing star. She is in very high demand in Japan's mainstream entertainment industry. And all that comes from her hard work and story about her is very inspiring. Also, she takes very close care on her voice, relatively recently she even did a surgery, because mucus started to block her voice cords too much. You should check her song "Ghost", if you want hear some rock themed instrumentals.
She's all this, AND she can play Tetris on a world-class level. On one of her streams, she played one-on-one with someone who was (I think) #2 in the world at Tetris, and after what seemed an endless battle she finally lost to him, but she didn't know who it was. Only afterward she found out who the guy was. It's just more of her amazing lore.
Just to mention Suisei and Taku Inoue have a group that they formed together called Midnight Grand Orchestra and one of their songs Allegro just got an animated MV made by Studio WIT
IMO Suisei isn't just the best singer in Hololive but the best japanese singer currently. Everything she releases is amazing and the songs she writes herself are some of the best around.
Really glad you looked into InoTaku's catalog. I tried refreshing myself to see if he really did work on im@s and maybe Tekken stuff, but the jpop wiki that popped up only listed known songs for singers lol. Recommendations: Tokoyami Towa - Anemone / prod. by Yuyoyuppe Tokoyami Towa - U.F.O. (U Feel Overjoyed) / This one's actually for a yakisoba commercial, with the band Unlucky Morpheus. Omaru Polka - Persona Hoshimachi Suisei - GHOST I see people recommending either Palette (original) or ERROR (cover) by Towa, but the history here is that Towa's had a pretty good track record singing (vocaloid trackmaker) niki's songs. They saw Towa's cover of ERROR, gave a nod of acknowledgment, and cooked up Palette for her (or maybe it was a commish like these tend to be). It's a very straightforward and powerfully sentimental song.
Subsribing in the hopes that you'll cover this one, adding another recommendation for debutante ball, absolutely the best from a musicality standpoint. Little mix off smooth jazz, and one of the best compositions in my music library, and definately her strongest vocal performance, in a "it's harder to do the technical quiet stuff" sense
randomly popped up in my recommended. nice reaction!! seems like you really digged the song's style, in which case i should wholeheartedly recommend you check out Midnight Grand Orchestra, which is a duo of her and the producer of this song Taku Inoue (aka inotac), one of my favorite japanese artists/bands period. fun fact, inotac goes so crazy with the drums in his songs that live performances of MGO usually use 2 drummers on stage lol.
Suisei is the biggest hitter in vocal for hololive. Like it's their ultimate weapon. Many have their niche like calli with rap lyric writting. I think another powerful one is towa and moona. Towa most iconic is the cover of error and pallete. For moona it's High tide and Perisai jitu. One of the unique one i want you to hear probably po by omaru polka. It's very unusual in a sense.
there are tons of clips from the hololive concerts they have had, it shows how all the girls and guys sing, you will amazed some girls have a total different voice when singing you would think it someone else. the running joke is that even thought they call themselves perfect idols, but they are goofy dorks who are very real. once they stop being dorky and sing out they leave you with a jaw dropping stare
If you want some extra hololive suggestions I'd really recommend checking out Tokoyami Towa - 'My Roar' and 'Error' . I love Suisei but Towa is probably my favourite of all time due to her sheer charisma and emotion she puts into singing.
GHOST and NEXT COLOR PLANET are some of my other favorites from Suisei, but geniuinely, you can't go wrong listening to a new Suisei song unless you're someone who's bothered by not understanding the lyrics. Stellar Stellar is definitely some of her best work, but she has a pretty expansive selection of great songs by this point, so there's still plenty out there. Suisei is certainly high up there in musical talent in the Vtuber sphere, easily within the top 1%, but I'm still surprised by new releases from Vtubers who I didn't expect to have phenomenal singing voices(they had no previous works) or are trying out a very different genre of music. Hope you continue to enjoy your Vtuber music journey!
Now he needs to listen all Midnight Grand Ochestra songs (Suisei and Taku Inoue collab project) All the songs have their own vibe and are really really good!
I like the video! Glad that you liked it. If you’re willing, I would like for you to react to Ghost, it’s my personal favorite song from her. Also, there is a musical unit from her and the composer of this song (Taku Inoue) called Midnight Grand Orchestra. I definitely suggest you listen to the whole of Starpeggio. I honestly think every song from it hits lol.
Stellar Stellar has an amazing song lyrics as well! You should check out the First Take version of it, they provide ENG Subtitle fhere, plus the song was performed with different arrangement.
anime opening vibes lol. thanks for introducing me to this song, even though i don't understand a word of it day 25 of suggesting "the shadows" by taishi. consider listening to the one specifically marked as "with error" first. afterwards, read the comments under it and the one not marked as with error. more context in day 1. also "思い出かけら" by sweet dove (this has crazy time signatures and i got a whole paragraph about it from the composer, if you ever react to it I'll comment on it below)
Nice, another vtuber reaction! Btw catharsis you should try reacting to Cosmograph's new upload "Colorless" I'd bet you wouldn't have any complaints to it like with "Juvenile days" Looking forward to it
The Hololive Medley 2023 has this as the Capstone song, but sung in duet with Sakura Miko, someone that Suisei has a very close relationship with. Its absolutely beautiful. Its a medley of hololive songs, but sung by different Hololive members, with them wearing the song owners outfit in the video. Its a really great watch. This song is also completely subtitled in english. You should rewatch it with the subtitles on to see what she's singing about. It's a very personal song. Edit: Looking through your react list, might be worth watching more Hololive stuff first since you won't have heard most of the songs prior to the medley.
You should also check out the First Take version AFAIK First Take is channel made by Sony to give artist one chance to use all of their studio to make a video :D
It's funny how you mentioned drums... 8bitdrummer, known for performing live drum covers of video game music, had given his own opinion about Suisei's songs after covering a lot of vtuber songs. He has declared that ever since encountering Stellar Stellar, Suisei's drummer has become 8bitdrummer's mortal enemy.
Watch the acoustic version on The First Take. She is the first Vtuber to perform there. She started as an independent Vtuber with no training whatsoever.
My would recommend to get a grasp of the vtuber music, more especifically hololive, will display in this top 5 to react: Q - Mori ft. Gura What an amazing swing - Watame Mumei - Nanashi Mumei Above and below - Justice group song - holoEn 3rd gen Help! - Kobo kanaeru I dont know if you react to covers, but this especifically is a cover of a hololive original, just by another member: My roar - covered by Hakka - original by Tokoyami Towa.
Theres a reason Suisei is the first and only Vtuber i know of to feature on the First Take channel! For the most part you could really take your pick at most of the hololive vtubers musically, there are a hell of a lot of talented individuals but Towa could be a good choice with songs like Error or Raimei if you fancy going further into the rabbit hole.
Also check out Suisei's "BIBIDEBA" Music Video if you want more. I also recommend Kobo Kanaeru's "HELP!" or Moona Hoshinova's "High Tide" if you wanna check out more good Hololive Vruber songs.
The funny thing is this isn't even my favorite suisei song lol. If I have to choose one, it would probably be Ghost. Also, suisei and taku inoue have a group project called midnight grand orchestra that has a few very fun songs with a more electro style
Suisei finally! To answer your question whether or not you started at peak, imo yeah, you kinda started at peak. However, all her other songs are just as good as stellar stellar. One recent song that I think you would love is bibbidiba. It not only has fantastic music, but also goated animation that you would probably take some time to analyze
I saw your reaction to Scuffed Up Age by Calli & I would like to share my favorite songs by her. End of a Life, Wanted, Wasted , & six feet under(produced by TK) Left for Dead Lullaby as bonus but it has no MV
Suisei itself says that her most important song isn't Stellar Stellar, it's Tenkyuu. There's a personal history on that. In general, if you want to be astonished fully, watch anything from her 3D lives, they are simply jaw-dropping-awesome.
should check out her first take performances she did. goated as heck
Im waiting on this 👍

Suisei sure is amazing, this song is the result of a lot of her effort.
Suisei has performed this live, with a live band, in the first Midnight Grand Orchestra concert they did.

DEFINITELY recommend checking out all her other songs, they're all so good.
And it definitely gets better from here!
randomly popped up in my recommended. nice reaction!! seems like you really digged the song's style, in which case i should wholeheartedly recommend you check out Midnight Grand Orchestra, which is a duo of her and the producer of this song Taku Inoue (aka inotac), one of my favorite japanese artists/bands period. fun fact, inotac goes so crazy with the drums in his songs that live performances of MGO usually use 2 drummers on stage lol.
She just likes to sing
Suisei is the biggest hitter in vocal for hololive. Like it's their ultimate weapon. Many have their niche like calli with rap lyric writting. I think another powerful one is towa and moona. Towa most iconic is the cover of error and pallete. For moona it's High tide and Perisai jitu. One of the unique one i want you to hear probably po by omaru polka. It's very unusual in a sense.
If you're wanting a more rock oriented song by Suisei I HIGHLY recommend her song Ghost, it's crazy.
I will never get tired of musicians reacting to this song getting lost counting the polymeter at the beginning of the pre-chorus.
there are tons of clips from the hololive concerts they have had, it shows how all the girls and guys sing, you will amazed some girls have a total different voice when singing you would think it someone else. the running joke is that even thought they call themselves perfect idols, but they are goofy dorks who are very real. once they stop being dorky and sing out they leave you with a jaw dropping stare
If you want some extra hololive suggestions I'd really recommend checking out Tokoyami Towa - 'My Roar' and 'Error' . I love Suisei but Towa is probably my favourite of all time due to her sheer charisma and emotion she puts into singing.
@@rmelzhim6033 My first is Risu but Towa is a close second for me
GHOST and NEXT COLOR PLANET are some of my other favorites from Suisei, but geniuinely, you can't go wrong listening to a new Suisei song unless you're someone who's bothered by not understanding the lyrics.
Now he needs to listen all Midnight Grand Ochestra songs (Suisei and Taku Inoue collab project)
All the songs have their own vibe and are really really good!
The song that launched her to literal stardom.
And no, Suisei learned to sing by herlsef.
HOLY PEAK
also suisei has two really good songs that i like
wii wii woo and ghost are some of my personal favorites.
Suisei is pure awesome! If you want one of her more "rock" feeling song, I HIGHLY suggest either GHOST or Shakunetsu Nite Junjou (灼熱にて純情(wii-wii-woo))
on the note of vtubers, you can try tokoyami towa's ERROR or suisei's GHOST
first take version will crush your mind!
You should check out the First Take version of it, they provide ENG Subtitle fhere, plus the song was performed with different arrangement.
if you watch her first 5 songs in chronological order you can see how she gets better over time
awesome reaction, if you want more taku inoue and suisei i recommend 3時12分/3:12, or my personal favorite suisei song ghost (not taku inoue tho)
"That's not fair."
Suisei in a nutshell. xD
anime opening vibes lol. thanks for introducing me to this song, even though i don't understand a word of it
day 25 of suggesting "the shadows" by taishi. consider listening to the one specifically marked as "with error" first. afterwards, read the comments under it and the one not marked as with error. more context in day 1. also "思い出かけら" by sweet dove (this has crazy time signatures and i got a whole paragraph about it from the composer, if you ever react to it I'll comment on it below)
Another great song I can recommend to you is "palette" by tokoyami towa. She also has a very unique voice imo.
The greatest Hololive song, and that's saying a ton.
Definitely check out her first take video.
Nice, another vtuber reaction!
Btw catharsis you should try reacting to Cosmograph's new upload "Colorless" I'd bet you wouldn't have any complaints to it like with "Juvenile days"
Looking forward to it
The Hololive Medley 2023 has this as the Capstone song, but sung in duet with Sakura Miko, someone that Suisei has a very close relationship with.
Let's go!!!
Yes she certainly has set the bar at the highest level.
You should also check out the First Take version
AFAIK First Take is channel made by Sony to give artist one chance to use all of their studio to make a video :D
two absolute killing songs no one ever mentions of Suisei and Midnight Orchestra's: Dazzling and 3:12
It's funny how you mentioned drums...
My would recommend to get a grasp of the vtuber music, more especifically hololive, will display in this top 5 to react:
Q - Mori ft. Gura
What an amazing swing - Watame
Mumei - Nanashi Mumei
Above and below - Justice group song - holoEn 3rd gen
Help! - Kobo kanaeru
I dont know if you react to covers, but this especifically is a cover of a hololive original, just by another member: My roar - covered by Hakka - original by Tokoyami Towa.
I recommend checking out "Wii Wii Woo" also by Suisei. The instrumental is godly on that one as well.
Suisei and Taka Inoue have a lot of songs together, under "Midnight Grand Orchestra".
suisei stellar is a GOAT song but you check out when she sings it in the first take, IMO, that's the superior version
Welcome to the holo rabbit hole sir o7
SUISEI STANDS UNITE!!!!!!!
Hi. i hope your channel will bloom further
You should react to her song Ghost. Its more of a rock song with authentic band vibes
I recommend Suisei's 2nd original song. I don't know the translated name, but it's one of her earliest songs she made.
Next Color Planet! Next Color Planet!
I saw your reaction to Scuffed Up Age by Calli & I would like to share my favorite songs by her. End of a Life, Wanted, Wasted , & six feet under(produced by TK)
Left for Dead Lullaby as bonus but it has no MV
I would recommend Suisei 'Ghost', 'Wii wii woo' and the new 'bibideba'.
She is very cool and has a lot of nice songs. But "Sanji Juunihun" for me is the absolute best her song.
Also also check out the lyric
another one has falling to the rabbit hole
While I believe Stellar Stellar is the most impressive song by her, I personally enjoy Ghost and her KING cover a lot
Suisei itself says that her most important song isn't Stellar Stellar, it's Tenkyuu. There's a personal history on that.
In general, if you want to be astonished fully, watch anything from her 3D lives, they are simply jaw-dropping-awesome.
if you want more suisei songs to listen to that's "cream of the crop", you gotta listen to Debutante ball
Can you do "Cog in the machine" from Goo World. One of the only soundtracks to ever get such a raw emotional reaction from me.
One of the most insane facts is she is self taught
She didnt do professional voice lessons at all
And she absolutely kills it
