Thank you for this informative video, Dr. Katz. Is it common for one cardiologist to cover diagnostic studies for the hospital (ECGs, ECHOs, etc) while simultaneously running the consult service? That is an unbelievable amount of work and seems downright dangerous for patients. I'm a US MD student very interested in Cardiology, but this volume is just absurd
Hi doctor. Beautiful cat you have there. Since this is a busy day could you please say how an average typical day in your life looks like? Ive heard Interventional cardiologists live for work but i have not much an idea about non interventional cardiologists
@@MarcKatzMD inpatient call once a month? Wow that sounds really nice. I feel like I’m interested in cardiology (currently MS3) but get deterred when people say how bad their lives r but this seems like a pretty decent lifestyle. It’s not derm life but doesn’t seem bad at all lol
@@ShahrukhKhan-pw6bc Do you mind if I ask what you have heard that is a deterrent thus far? I am interested in going into cardiology, but I dont have any experience with it yet
Pay depends on where you live/practice. The more middle of nowhere you are the higher your pay. But generally speaking you can earn easily over $300k/year as a non-invasive cardiologist after fellowship. And that is probably the lower 25% percentile of pay. However, everything depends on the type of practice you join and the contract you sign
If you mean 3 days on for 12 hours- no. That’s typically for nurses. Closest thing to that is hospitalists (internal or family medicine trained physicians) who can work 1 week on and 1 week off in some practices/hospitals
@@Riceeegod I have another video going over the training called ‘how to become a cardiologist’. Both require 3 year fellowship. Interventional is another year after general cardiology fellowship
That's too much for one person. Our doctors are pushed to the EDGE.
It’s a lot but they get paid crazy amounts too
@@wandoonieyep.
@@wandooniewhat use is the money when all you do is work? No time to spend it on anything really.
@@caleb2507 it’s still good money. You work good jobs a lot =you get tons of money
Oh my God! That's robotic. You are a legend 🎉
What a packed schedule. I hope your heart & arteries are healthy.

My goodness, you need an assistant, like 3 of them. im up for the job
Can you please make a video about the real working hours you need to work daily and how much you make by working like that? Thank you so much ☺️
Good idea!
@@MarcKatzMD ☺️
Are these typical days and if not what does a typical average day look like? Also what is your call schedule like?
This is a busier day. Call schedules vary by practice. Typically on call one week a month for outpatient calls. Once a month for inpatient

Wow I didn't realize I had it so good as a pediatrician of course I negative pay for that Dont get me wrong I get stressors too
Serious question, doc. Is it worth it? In your opinion?
Pepperoni…best. name. ever.

Whats the pay like? Everything online is saying you all make $300,000+ a year

Also just made a new RUclips video going into detail answering your question
This workload kills any motivation for living. This can’t be daily…
Do you have the option to work 3x12 schedule?

I plan to be a cardiologist but I don’t know. Is invasive better than non invasive?
Different. ‘Better’ depends on your interests and priorities
@@MarcKatzMD Hi, which is harder? And also. Which one requires more years of training.

@@MarcKatzMD thank you sir.
How many hours do you work per week?
It varies. But probably 40-50 hours per week on average since I work weekends about every 4-5 weeks
