- Kast king Zephyr is considered the standard when it comes to cheap BFS reels. I wanted to see how it compared with my other BFS reels and if it would hold up during a normal day of fishing.
I purchased the zephyr last fall and i am pleased.I have it paired up with a sougayilang rod that i purchased from Walmart online. The model is 602ul. The rod is described as a trout rod and the lure weight is 1/16 to 3/8oz and line weigth is 2 to 8lb .best to use no lower than 6lb cause somtimes on a overrun the line will get behind the spool
I have so far enjoyed my zephyr. Glad you enjoyed the video
I have two Zehpyrs. I have one on the same Sougayilang rod you have, a friend suggested it. And I have the other on the Kastking Kestrel 6'9 light action rod. I think they're awesome reels.
@@davidbrooks6084 I really like the sougayilang 602ul rod .Caught bass up to 5lbs on that rod.Went and purchased the 7 ft modle but it is more of a moderate action rod.Another good one if you want to go lighter is the 24 carbon 5.5 rod the lure rate is 0.5 to .8 and line weight is 1 to 6 lb .Great for 1/16oz jighead with a crappie type bait or 1/16oz flashback or strike king micro spinnerbaits
@@gregchilders7643 Thanks for the suggestion.
I also use a sougayilang rod with mine . I am using mainly 15 lb braid with about 20 yards of 4 lb trilene leader . It works great .
I have only had my zephyr for about a month . But loving it so far. I cast a 1/6 lure on my regular baitcaster ( kastking royale legend 2 and kasking royale legend gt . ) The gt is $20 at wallmart website . I slready had 2 , but bought 2 more for $20 each .
Happy fishing Friday 🎣 my friend I hope you are doing well and caching them fish 🎣👍🏼
I'm at work so no fun yet today but its coming
KK are the kings of a reel feeling great out of the box but 5 fishing trips later they start making some weird noises. I have 4 or 5 KK reels. ALL of them have some kind of weird thing with them. 2 others are just unusable so they met their demise. Shimano and Daiwa only for me now.
Maybe I should do an update video in the future. Thanks for the idea and comment
What rod is that
I got it at a yard sale and can't really figure the name out. It has lots of good qualities for bfs whippy tip and good backbone
how big are those moobs?
Gigantic LoL
