    The idea that Universal could be ready to start building a fourth theme park as early as 2030-31 is absurd. Here's a list of capital-intensive projects in Florida alone that must be done first:
    1. Replacing the Lost Continent at IOA.
    2. Replacing the Simpsons land at USF.
    3. Other ride replacements and upgrades at IOA & USF.
    4. More hotels at the Epic site.
    5. A smaller "Citywalk II" at the Epic site.
    6. Expanded and/or new lands at Epic.

    Universal have bought 500 acres in UK for there first Universal resort which includes city walk in Europe. It seems to be in final talks and building to start soon with completion estimated 2030. So my guessing is after Epic marketing has died down or when it opens, they will announce their new park in the UK.

    The expansion plot would have no room for a backstage area, hotels or additional parking... They aren't gonna build a 4th park there, except in your delusional dreams. I think it is a lot more likely that they use it as the location for a retail/dining area similar to Citywalk. Perhaps also add something similar to what they are building in Las Vegas "Universal Horror Unleashed" attraction. Those would have a significantly lower capacity than an entire new theme park, and thus have much easier to manage requirements in terms of parking and nearby hotels. Plus it is an area of land that could easily support additional hotel capacity, which will make far more money than an additional theme park...

    While Universal does have the space to build a fourth theme park and I do see them eventually building one, realistically, I'm seeing somewhere between 2040-2050 for that to happen. After Epic Universe opens, the next ten years are going to be devoted to improving Studios and Islands, with a little bit of Volcano Bay refurbishment thrown in. Then after that, maybe they'll consider building a fourth park.

    Another great video as usual...thank you so much! I agree with your assessment of the timeframe would be closer to 2036 and possibly sooner if my guess. Universal is hungry for the title of the top theme park designation in Florida. As you mentioned, once they are matched with the same amount of parks to offer, then it will only be a matter of quality over quantity. You know how that will turn out. Go Universal!

      As I watched the video again. My sentiment exactly is that they should keep the lot they have for the workers, and then re-assign them to future projects, thus assuring continuity on their momentum going forward. They should keep the contracts on their projects for years. Good luck Disney... I grew up with you..... please step up to the plate if you can.

    I don't think a 4th gate is gonna be in the cards for at least a decade just because there's so much redevelopment to be done at the other 2 dry parks. Loads of USO and IOA attractions are either closed or on their last legs and with so much attention and hype around Epic Universe, they're gonna need some new E-Ticket attractions in the other parks to take some of the strain off Epic Universe. Plus, let's be honest, USO has kinda lost the sauce and could use some TLC. Not to mention the expansion plots for Epic Universe. If they were to create a new park in less than a decade, I'd say they'd MAYBE create another water park. Maybe an indoor water park with an industrial or sci-fi theme to set it apart from Volcano Bay?
    Another thing to keep in mind is that Universal is also planning parks in Texas and the UK while also developing a year round HHN attraction for Las Vegas. They probably don't wanna spread their resources too thin.

    Ironically, Universal owned this land in the early 2000s but didn't want to pay to have the soil cleaned up from the previous owners. So they sold the land, with stipulations that no other amusement facility may be built upon it. "X" number of years later the land went up for sale and Universal repurchased the land, went to court to get the restrictions lifted and then eventually purchased more land in that area.

    i could see a fourth gate in under 30 years for sure if universal continues at their current pace, but there’s a lot that needs to happen first. Overall they need more hotels/resorts and before any new park, the og parks need their vacant lands filled. simpsons, fear factor, and rip ride at uso and lost continent at islands have to be taken care of.

  • @alxmstr
    @alxmstr 5 часов назад

    They need to revamp the "dead" lands and rides in Islands and Studios first before adding another new park in Florida.
    A few examples:
    - The Lost Continent Area
    - Toon Lagoon
    - Race Through New York
    - Fast & Furious
    - World Expo Show Stage
    - And I’m Sorry But E.T.
    Then you need to worry about the looming Simpsons contract ending reportedly in 2028. As well as the ever looming feeling that Disney could make moves to get the full Marvel theme park rights back.

      @EmillioMelendez 2 часа назад

      I'd say the only lands on your list that is in danger rn is The Lost Continent, Simpsons, Maybe Fast and Furious, the rest are still popular somewhat in the park, and would be no need to urgently re theme or remove.

    I think Universal needs to completely remake and reboot Universal Studios Orlando first. The whole Studio thing is an idea of the past. I’d like to see Universal Studios Orlando get transformed into being more like Islands of Adventure and or Epic Universe. Different Lands themed after Different ideas based off of different IP’s. I’d also like to a second or even third water park! I will admit I am slightly biased because I love Volcano Bay so much its my favorite park in all of Orlando, but I’d just love to see more water parks done by Orlando because they did so well last time.

      What i suggest for islands is not re theming or replacing but upgrading animatronics and special effects. They should upgrade the animatronics / effects for Ripsaw Falls, Cat in the hat, and river adventure to modern animatronics while keeping the same themes and stories , would go a long way. Imagine a cat in the hat with fluid modern animatronics!

    Universal has to do so much at their current parks after Epic Universe. The biggest issue is Epic Universe isn't going to move the needle - it is just going to move visitors. The current two parks have declining attendance and likely fell around 10% last year. On top of that, Epic Universe sales are going poorly. You can STILL buy opening day tickets even after 3 months. It has not met presale expectations, and they are very concerned it will not reach first year projections, possibly coming up over 2 million guests short or more of expectations - over $1 Billion less revenue than projected.
    Expect cuts at the other parks. Less opening time, etc. By end of summer, many of the effects of Epic will get shut off to save money as the park likely struggles with maintenance issues, etc.
    Universal may delay work at other parks to try to slow the bleed. But Epic Universe is not going to shake things up - it is just going to make Comcast want to try to bring in a partner to help mitigate losses. Look for WBD to invest in the hope of adding more IP and turning things around for Universal Orlando.

    • @EmillioMelendez
      @EmillioMelendez 2 часа назад

      I think Universal will be just fine. But you are right about maintenance issues which is one thing i'm really worried about for Epic. Judging how the maintenance of animatronics/special effects at Islands is (River Adventure and Cat in the Hat are prime examples) , I dont have that high hopes right now for the animatronics at Epic is over time. As much as i love universal as my fav resort, they could do alot better with ride maintenance

  • @finned958
    @finned958 6 часов назад

    Universal originally owned the 750 acres and sold it under previous management. They bought back their land. I don’t think Universal is working that fast to get a new park opened. They can’t stop physics and economic conditions. They will carefully measure demand and decide if their new marketshare can support a 4th theme park. The other issue is theming and IP. They can’t keep using Harry Potter to anchor another theme park. The wait would be 20 years. They Disney doesn’t want to open a 5th park. They don’t even bother making DHS and DAK into full day parks. Disney’s neglect of their 4 parks makes Universal’s 3 parks a formidable competitor.

    Going with a flat parking lot was an Epic dumb decision. Not only does it takes massive space but it also requires visitors to walk forever in the scorching Florida sun. Why did they not repeat the winning garage+CityWalk formula is beyond me.

    yk what I think is it would not be smart to have universal build another theme park so early. I like the idea, but its just not smart. if there gonna get anywhere close to he same hype as epic universe, they need to wait alittle. plus in the mean time hey got plenty of cleaning up to do at there existing parks first. Although i could see there being an idea to create another kind of islands of adventure and universal resort duo with a city walk 2.0 as another clocation kind of thing. But still I would head in that direction but not so soon. This 4rth park will not get as much bisnuess as they hoped like epic is getting becuase there is no time to process and hype it up if thats the case.

  • @lukeribeiro9361

    First a 4th will likely not happen for another 15-20 years at LEAST. If they spend $5B on a park and try to spend another $5B on another, their shareholders are gonna lose it. I'm personally in the belief that, given history, this isn't going to have the effect Universal wants. This will likely hurt USF and IOA and I know that the ridiculous 3-day ticket requirement is a thing but given the way IOA went in 1999, there will be a lot of people who just won't go (not as bad as IOA though). Given all I just said they are likely going to throw away any plans for Park 4 and will put their money towards fixing USF & IOA (I'm looking at you Lost Continent), expanding EU, and build other parks elsewhere (UK for example)

    There are a few sections grassed off that Universal said going in that were set for future expansion for Epic, and there are already rumors buzzing about a nintendo land expansion. As for a fourth gate, I would not say a while if not another decade. I think after epic, they are going to focus on rehabbing the other three Gates. IOA and Universal have a few areas desperately requiring attention. I wouldnt be surprised disney responding with another gate though. At this point they are not going to have another choice. EPIC is going to decimate them and the lands that Disney showed at the D23 event are just not going to be able to compete with a brand new state of the are park built from the ground up.

    Disney villains giga coaster is less delusional than this lol. None of these ideas play with a single aspect of the facts we know are in universals game plan for the next decade, nor do they fit with any sort of pattern of behavior for the company in the past. “The hype” of epic universe will last at least a decade. It is the most groundbreaking move in the theme park entertainment industry we’ve seen in decades, and universal has shown via the scale of investment that they are fully aware of that fact. They are also well aware that Disney’s next five years of expansion plans PALE in comparison. To keep momentum, Epic universe will absolutely see all of its expansion plots utilized in the next 10-12 years, and we will see major updates to studios and islands during the same period of time, at which point UOR will be home to 3 of the most well rounded cutting edge theme parks on the planet, and Disney will have a reskinned Indiana jones ride. Not even considering what UEG has planned for Studios GB over the next 10-15 years, we will not see a 5th Orlando gate even announced until 2040 at the earliest.
