During lockdown, I decided on a whim to buy a flute. I played a bit of clarinet years and years ago at school. I just got a cheap on on amazon (I know I know, but thought I'd just see what I thought instead of spending a lot of money) If i just use the head piece I can get a sound from it no problem. when I but the flute together I struggle. Is this just down to the Embouchure or something else i know you can't really tell without looking at the flute, but just wondered
Yes Embouchure could be the culprit, I have videos on this but in the end maybe taking a single flute lesson with your local flute teacher could guide you with tools.

Great playing! How do you keep your tone steady with the interval leaps?
Long tones but with wide intervals is one of many ways to practice it. Nice and slow and then build up speed.
