I have always found Derwent colored pencils a bit crumbly. Are these similar or different since they are oil based? Similar texture to Polychromos or Caran D'Ache lightfast?
@@ybe7011 on our website both are available. You would have to check with your local stockists to see what stock they carry if you wish to buy from them instead. Derwent
In my opinion, these are very similar to Caran D’ache Luminance. Not soft like Derwent Drawing Pencils (I presume Coloursoft are similar to Derwent Drawing Pencils, from videos I’ve seen, but I don’t have those). They are lovely.
Derwent love the new Lightfast pencil open stock i have and I would like to buy more. I like to keep and use my pencils straight from the tin. Unfortunately I just cant get past the eyeball looking back at me on the tin, no disrespect to the artists work on the tin intended, its a great piece. I know others have also felt the same. Could you please release the 72 set with another artwork on the tins as I am holding off from the purchase. Love my tin of 24 drawing pencils another great product.
@@derwent Derwent thanks for your response i look forward to when you change it. For now I will continue on with my drawing pencils and open stock. Merry X-mask to you and your team.
Just get a dedicated pencil case with individual sleeves for each pencil. It's way more protective as well as better-looking aesthetically than any tin that a manufacturer will include with their set. There are plenty of cases to buy online with lots of designs and great functionality for under $20 USD.
@@DHM91 No I just prefer tins the trays are all around me while I work no flipping of pages to look for colors. I also worry about that slapping sound when the leaves hit each other as the pages get turned. I bought the Caren d ache luminance as they are similar to use and added some open stock colors. Thank you for taking the time to respond to me :)
Love these. I paint too and also a writer.i live the way it makes my colors speak to me
Please can you tell me what paper you're using on these demonstrations. Thank you

Hi YB E, our Lightfast pencils are creamy and have a smooth laydown, so are ideal for layering and blending. Hope this helps. Derwent
@@derwent thank you. Are they available only in sets or open stock?
