  • A amateur re-string attempt of a 1964 gijoe, just a lazy afternoon I decided to share what I was working on. Also talk about different restring kits, oh no floppy joe and Cotswold.

    Doesn't matter how you do it as long as it gets done! Great video!

    You can cut a notch in the Cottswald Leg hoops so that you don’t have to pull out the pin. Basically, you just turn them into hooks.

    What about using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the grime around the joints or for cleaning the whole figure ? My concern would be the level of harshness of whatever chemical(s) Mr. Clean embeds into the foam sponge of their "Magic" eraser. Is there anything recommended to sterilize, polish, treat or seal the plastic after it's cleaned ? Like many / most toys they can get pretty biologically contagious / grimy /slimy especially internally.

      Novis is a good plastic restorer I use, maybe that would work.

    Great job! I always wandered how they went together. I see a lot of similarities to the modern 4" action figures, as far as their articulation is concerned. I'm starting to rethink, collecting the 12" figures.

      @TheSkullReviews  6 лет назад

      Well if your going to collect 12" figures these vintage 60's or 70's figures can be pricey, I would recommend get the remakes from the timeless collection or 40th anniversary or even the masterpiece collection, they are a lot cheaper and they are brand new, good luck whatever you decide buddy.

    Hey bro, nice job on the restring. I think one of the reasons I watcg your videos is you have radio like voice and you don't stumble over your.own words like me. 😂 . I may have a decent amount of subs & play with toys good, but I forget my own sentences lol.😆. Back on subject, I never knew you re-string Gijoe like that. This is awesome knowledge bruh. 😉 A *LIKE* for sure!

    How can you repair splits in arms. I've got a '64 black joe "patent pending" that's my first big collecting prize. One of my favorite

    • @TheSkullReviews
      @TheSkullReviews  6 лет назад +1

      I've tried to glue a cracked knee before with little success, it held for a couple of days and gave way, so best bet I would think is replace the arm if it hinders the function, otherwise cover it with the uniform and try to forget its there LOL. Thanks for watching

      I'm anal about having my original or vintage Hasbro replacement limbs. He's one of my first prizes and I'm really sentimental. I hope I can find original limbs. Are they out there? I got a Blond Marine for Christmas. in 64 when I was was 10. I got this in 87. I've collected since.

      I can understand that, I tend to be that way with certain figures myself, best bet is ebay, but true vintage Black joes are pricey, I didn't find the arms alone, legs yes but not arms currently, here a full figure for an okay price if that helps www.ebay.com/itm/1964-GI-Joe-Vintage-Hasbro-12-AT-Black-Adventurer-2/232765293225?hash=item3631e482a9:g:x10AAOSwdIBa70s-

    Don't put yourself down, amateur? If there is such a thing as a professional re-string i cant imagine much else they would have done differently (apart from a little more preparation ;) ) nice looking soldier you got there now, very interested in seeing what he'll be wearing! My guess is you'll go for something from the painted head era but whatever it is, i'll be looking out for part 2! I think its about time i subscribe instead of hunting out your videos each time lol

      @TheSkullReviews  6 лет назад

      Thanks buddy, yeah I was just cleaning the head sculpt when I decided to just film the process, I wasn't fully prepared, I enjoy watching restoration videos so I figured I would put one out, I'm still looking for a 60's era outfit to set him up with, thinking maybe Marine camo but that's yet to be decided, I'll post part 2 when I get some parts in. Thanks for the sub:)

    I’ve got a 2001 reproduction Australian jungle fighter all is fine EXCEPT THE TRIGGER FINGER! I don’t want to replace the hand nor do I have cash to do so, can you tell me how to fix it?

      @@Sgt-lott10 Maybe then drill a tiny hole in the finger and from where it broke off to insert a metal rod like from a paper clip then glue it together with the rod inserted for strength, I hope you understood that.

    • @Sgt-lott10
      @Sgt-lott10 4 года назад +1

      TheSkullReviews the thing is, it’s got glue residue and the rest of the finger is missing!
