- Nostalgic Tweaks brings back a plethora of Minecraft Alpha/Beta gameplay elements. This mod is intended for nostalgic enthusiasts who want to relive the glory days of Minecraft by tweaking the mod to their preference. The 2.0 betas are finally here (over 300+ tweaks and counting) and can be downloaded at CurseForge or Modrinth!

0:55 I know this is slightly unrelated to the video, but this shot right here is exactly why the beta is so good. Looking at this genuinly looks like a windowed hallway, and feels so much more immersive. I cant explain why it feels that way, but with modern minecraft it doesn't feel as immersive. Pretty cool mod.

Because the items are facing one direction instead of magically spinning
My guess is because it simply is immersive. For Beta, there were no high expectations, hundreds of types of blocks, or mega builds. A small hallway forces you to focus on it and on the view outside. Unrelated yet more but it reminded me a bit of Manifold Garden hallways.

I love how he added "Minecraft Beta 1.18.2" to the corner of the screen. That's attention to details!
idea: when holding both sword and shield, hide shield, and when blocking, use the old sword blocking instead
I do plan to add this in the next 2.0 beta since this was also suggested in the mod's discord server. :)

I barely ever played the older versions of Minecraft myself, yet just seeing the 2d items filled me with nostalgia from watching all manner of old RUclips videos. Awesome stuff on display here.

broooo you're a breathing living legend. i've been looking for ways to make minecraft feel the same as it did back in the days and this mod is perfect for it! minecraft nowadays feels so soulless and ordinary, but this mod turns it back in its glorious form!
Yup this is a mod for me. I never grew up with the full version of minecraft PC but something about playing the old beta stuff brings out the inner child in me

This looks really good! I appreciate those that try and continue to play older versions or love older versions and it's nice seeing someone try and carry over some of old minecraft's vibe into new minecraft's expanded and more complex feel.

This reminds me of the olden days NBX Light mod. (If anyone even remembers that mod) It was removed years ago and since then i have always missed the idea of tweaking the game to make it feel like classic Minecraft. This fills that gap perfectly and cant wait to try this out. Major congrats on this mod!

Man, that mod really represents the old cube world. You literally bring it back the old versions to 1.18.2 with style. Really nice, all people envolved done very well.

Love the community efforts to provide these mods that bring nostalgia, I tried making some of my own time ago, and no offense, but why not just play your desired beta version from the launcher? wouldn't that be easier?
can't have the cool new blocks + items / mods
Playing on a desired beta version would be easier, but that's not the goal of the mod. The goal is to bring old nostalgic elements from the golden age of Minecraft to modern versions of the game. The major benefit, as mentioned above, is keeping all the new modern features. Such as new blocks and mods on Fabric/Forge. You can also toggle every tweak so you can tailor the gameplay to your exact preference. :)

1:05 i didnt even realize the swing animation changed in the more recent updates, but after seeing this i feel like i prefer the old swing. is it possible to see a side by side comparison of the old and modern swing animations?
Yep, the changes to the swing animation were subtle. When I release 2.0 I'll try to make some comparison videos that show the difference.

There is not a setting for that, but there are resource packs out there that replace the new music with C418. A few people have linked some in the mod's discord server.
It won't work for me when i launch feather with it in it will work but nothing shows up in Mod Menu or keybind "O" also doesnt work, can u help me?
I would pay so much money for one that replicates the lighting of the x-box
I have never played the Xbox version of Minecraft so I wouldn't be a good candidate for trying to replicate it. Sounds like a neat mod idea though!

In my opinion, even though I like modern Minecraft, (don’t dox me plz) nostalgic tweaks looks great! I’ve actually tried using it to re create better than wolves

Yes, but not in version 1. Currently version 2 of the mod does have this and is still in early beta. If you would like to test out the new stuff the jars are in the mod's discord server.
How do you install the mod? There are no instructions or tutorials.

i have a error. It kept crashing when i create a world or join a world first i tried play it on Simply optimized 1.20 pack, and it crashed. And then i tried on forge optifine, it was the same. Please help! :(

Is it possible for you to bring back bedrock fog?
The beta builds (still WIP) in the mod's discord server has void fog tweaks if you want to try it out. You can also change the void fog such as controlling particle density, fog density, and whether light removes fog.
Pretty sure 2D items can be turned on in the settings by default lol
You cannot turn on 2D items in the vanilla settings.
@@adrenix-minecraft Okay I just checked and you're right. I'm baffled cuz on earlier versions of the game you could (around 1.4.7). Or maybe it was just optifine

The new 2.0 beta builds have the old light rendering tweaks and are currently available to try out in the mod's discord server. If you're interested, the server link is in the video description. :)
