Really enjoing it so far, but I came to a little stopper or problem: My pc is not that bad (i7 11700K 32GB RAM RTX 2070 SUPER) but with these clouds its rendering reeeeally slow, like 20x slower than in your Course and I know you have a really beefy PC but is that normal? With the Gpu set to render its way faster but I dont really know if the GPU is optimal for Maya. Also when the Cpu renders its not staying at 5Ghz, sometimes it goes to 4.1 even though it stays cool at around 60 degrees Celcius. Do I really have to buy like the newest and best Cpu or is the optimization of the clouds just bad?😅
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, it's normal for VDBs to render slowly. For rendering, though, I have a 48-thread Threadripper CPU and a 3090, so rendering is faster. However, I also had issues until I changed the settings, and it would still be quite slow without denoising, which we go over in a later video.
So with the V-Ray Decal, you simply create one, rotate it so it projects in the correct direction, and move it until it intersects whichever objects you want. By default, it works over multiple objects. If it's not working, check the Exclude list to make sure the other bricks aren't excluded for some reason.

Good vid
Thanks!
One of the most indepth tutorials i have ever seen . Thank you man 🙏🏻🌹
Thanks. Glad you liked it!
Thank you.
How do you use the decal system on more than one object? A graffiti on a wall full of individual brick objects?
