    It's quite amazing how whistles even in the same key sound so distinct - they have individual character. I have a Killarney and a Wild both in D. Wonderful things they are and so very portable, unlike my piano! 😆

    I am just beginning to learn the tin whistle. I love hearing it played. I'm hoping some day to make the tin whistle sing the way you do.

    I have the D and the A and love them. I love the weight of them and the clear tome. I hope in time (and by that I mean soon!) that a low D will be coming

      A low D would be a great addition to the range, James. I'm sure McNeela Music must be looking into that.

    Hi, what key would you recommend to play the Galway Shawl with, thank you I have two of these whistles myself and I love them

    Brian, you would make any whistle sound good and I love your style. However, I totally agree with you about the quality and tone of these whistles. I currently have just two but hoping to add to the collection with one of those C keys. I currently have the Bflat and D. I think the Bflat stands out from the crowd and the tone and quality is amazing. Thanks for sharing your talent for us mere mortals and hopefully I will get to hear you on the pipes someday. All The best from Sligo.

    What whistle, would you say, can't perform the staccato or the fast playing. I always assumed that when you are as skilled as you obviously are, that any whistle sounds great in your hands🙂

    • @brianhughesofficial4087
      @brianhughesofficial4087  3 года назад +1

      Hi Duke, when you go into C whistles and other lower keys some whistles lose the responsiveness for faster staccato playing. I don't want to mention any particular brands but it's a common issue in those lower keys. Anyway, luckily the Wild Whistle doesn't have these issues. Hope that helps!

      John O'Brien has a great Irish Tin Whistle Course online with McNeela Instruments. You'd get a great immersion into all those whistle playing techniques: whistlelessons.mcneelamusic.com/order-form1608029340084

    Karen here, forgot to add this, my husband continues to enjoy playing his tin whistle in the key of D and, while I'm a little biased, I believe he is sounding better and better.
