The opening scene with the mosquito is what got me to start watching the series in the first place. Just caught it in some random clip and had to check it out, 100% hooked from that moment on.

My personal hypothesis about this show is that it's all about the expression of will, both for heroes and monsters. Monsters become what they are through some variation of twisted obsession. It might not always be 100% their OWN twisted obsession, like the giant in episode 1 getting super steroids, and there is a later source that you will learn about some day that can mess with minds, but generally I think you need to be enthralled by dark passions.
Heroes are similar, I think, but less dark and twisted. It's not Saitama's workout that made him so strong, but that became a conduit for his will. Intellectually, that could let scientists create super-tech, and Genos can embody it. The difference is that, while heroes are flawed, they're still driven to use their power for others.

Its my favourite No. 1 show, i like the humor and satire against all the other shonen Hero anime. But also the seriousness concerning what a true hero is and how a invincible superhero truly must feel when he got his main motivation from winning hard fights for justice and to save civilians from evil, but now its just easy to get rid of them, but innocent people keep dying until he reaches the monster. (Looking at u, Goku and Superman, always happy go lucky and motivated.)
It’s so funny and yet there still feels like a bigger story and theme underlying everything which we love!!
I saw the show in 2019 when the second season aired and it’s been five years, still no third season. T_T
It’s going to be a good watch as a whole, not as much deep of a story plotwise but that’s kind of the theme I guess to relax and enjoy it as a light watch. They do add depth to characters every now and then which makes it a well balanced show.
Mob Psycho is where we actually see the original art style of the author. One Punch Man was redrawn by another guy who elevated the art and character designs to an extent that some panels are considered to be the best pieces of art in all of manga.

I heard that a new season of One-Punch Man was announced some time ago... So like maybe next year or the one after we may have a new one?
@@Cibanti yes it was announced but no idea when they’ll be able to complete it. Earlier there were speculations that MAPPA was going to handle it and they didn’t have enough time with their hands full with a lot of other big time shows, but after they said JC Staff (animators of S2) was going to produce S3 too, no one knows why it took so much time. It’s a hugely followed show so popularity shouldn’t have been an issue.
@@Mischievalrous The reason it took so long is because there wasn't enough content to adapt. When it was announced several years ago there was just enough content for another season.

They did it on purpose cause OPM lacks female characters.
Even the manga illustrator was too focused on making mosquito girl sexy that he forgot about compositions and had to scrap a couple panels.

@@Unohana873 I know we're sorry! When we filmed that day, we watched episodes 1-6 and didn't realize there were end credit scenes. We did catch up on them though and we'll make sure to include it starting on ep 7!
