This song, for me, feels like his way of letting someone know that he still cares about them, hasn’t forgot about them, and wants them to be really ok, knowing he can’t or won’t be there anymore. Loving from a distance.

This song hurts so bad. Such an absolute gut punch. As someone who has 2 very special people that suffer from depression and dark thoughts, this hits way to close. “Please don’t hurt yourself again” gets me every single time and brings the tears.

The day the album came out, I had planned to hurt myself bad enough to end up in the hospital. I made the plan to listen to the album first while I cleaned the house so as not to leave anything left behind and it was almost like vessel was singing to me. Please don't hurt yourself again. I needed it and I'll never get over this song for saving my life.

To me, this song is about the feeling of helplessness when you watch your partner suffer because of the relationship you’re in.. Wanting and trying to make it better and to make her feel better but she’s only becoming more emotionally distant so you slowly watch the love of your life slip away from you and the emotional pain that causes of being unable to help her and keep the relationship together. The feeling of watching someone you love suffer because of you and your inability to connect and communicate with her when she needs you..
Resentment and anxiety really can become communicable if one's that closed off. It hurts so much wanting to help someone who's the most incapable of asking for, or accepting, it when they need it most. Makes you question how much is your fault, how much was theirs, and how much was inevitable. The uncertainty makes you feel like a failure of a partner, as well as the wide spectrum of emotions you feel towards them so consistently because of it.

I don't get the bad relationship vibes at all. As a father of a teenager that has self harmed this hurts bad. It expresses the feelings of helplessness and confusion we have had when trying to help our daughter through her pain and troubles. I would love for her to listen to this but am scared it hits too close . .

A lifetime of struggle with my daughter. Including waking up to dripping crimson. We haven’t talked in years. I have tried reaching out. Maybe it is for the best we don’t talk, she has always held something against me through dozens and dozens of together therapy sessions. I always made her mad. If she doesn’t hurt herself again, I can live with never talking to her again. The pain will always be there and so will the love for my daughter. She is 27. I somehow hope she would hear this song and know I still love her.

Such a beautiful song. My wife was saying that it reminded her of a James Taylor song. It also reminds me of an old Pearl Jam, Rolling Stones, or Led Zeppelin. Judging by the character art too, I think the song, aside from just being a ballad for MH and checking on your friends and family who struggle with it, is about a friend of Vessels or the bands who lost a child.

I checked out sleep token from this album, and tbh this was the only song i replayed over 20 times. Love it. The guitar reminded me of classic rock. Love how the song got big half way through, very emotional, simple lyrics but the way he sings is awesome.

I think this song is about someone vessel loved and he lost them to self harm as in i can fix your wouds this time then i think the next song is the apparition which kinda confirmes they are no longer with him cuz he's dreaming about them or he's haunted my the memories and that's why he says let me go or take me with you.

Even though I do really like the softer songs of ST, not my favorite, by far. But hey, I didn't like Bloodsport at first, which now it's such a blasphemy imo, so maybe in time this song will grow on me.
