I always thought this too. But Ren confirmed in 2023, on his discord, that Jenny wasn’t a prostitute. He said “I bloody hope not. The story is messed up enough as it is”. There is a screenshot of the chat, so should be easy to find.
@@AayJayEmmyou seem to have not gotten the sarcasm from Ren. He uses the line “a borg named jenny…” in jenny’s tale. Do you know what borg means? Perhaps if you looked into slang and synonyms of prostitute, youd learn that borg is UK slang for prostitute..

I could write a book on just about ever Ren song... These are a few things I like to mention sometimes.
Jenny's Tale you have to ask yourself what was a 14 year old girl wearing heels and "rosy cheeks" doing at night on a road "she walked a 1000 times before".
At the start of Screech's Tale, Ren starts the song by saying, "A story it starts at the end". Patrick was "missing" and Screech's GF was "Busy" because they were together. Then at the end as Ren does so often he brings it full circle and says, "A story it ends at the start" .
Violate Tale - I LOVE the guitar rifts throughout the ENTIRE song. Ren so often does, he plays the part of Violate here on the bed after the rifts...
(Violate waking up looking around confused as to how she got here and where is here?) With haunting/eerie hymns he sets the stage.
Many catch the rewind . MANY more miss the speeding back up to real time when Ren/Violate wakes up on the table (After the fight between her and Stevie as he starts walking away).
Lastly,
Violet moved out at 16 into a flat paid by a "welfare scheme". It is logical to think that violet was already pregnant by this time. A teenage runaway might have a chance at being a beneficiary of this but a pregnant teenage runaway certainly has the qualifications to be granted this benefit. This was before he met Stevie who most would assume was the father of Jenny and Screech. If what was speculated was true, Stevie did some maths and figured that the numbers didn't add up, the baby wasn't his. He beats up Violet and calls her a "slut" which was quite specific when compared to usual cuss words like "bitch" or "cunt". This would also answer as to why Stevie asked "Why're you lying to me, violet?" And would make the slightly off phrase "Do you think I wanna do this, Violet" fit more consistently into the story.
I just saw the end of the video. So, here is more to the book for anyone interested.
Yes, the twins were split at birth. Jenny was just like her mother Violate (who froze when in fear). Which in return angered Screech (who was like his father, he never knew). Violate froze in fear and Stevie reacted in rage for it. Violate passed, Stevie goes to Jail. Kids get split up in the adoption agency.
Also in the UK, instead of John and Jane Doe, they have James and Jenny, the name of the twins...

@@angelluhman9006 erm, not as far as I know, John Doe and Jane Doe are actually legal terms which originated in Britain. We also use the term Richard Roe (although it is used slightly differently in legal terms to John/Jane Doe, same as the US still does ... eg "Roe v Wade") and, more colloquially, we would commonly say "Joe Bloggs" to denote a character of no specific name but I've never heard of James & Jenny being used over here.

DING DING DING! Young woman on right guesses that Jenny is a prostitute! You are the first person ever at this point in the video to guess that. Basically, the underlying story is partially due to an actual knifing of a young prostitute in London. Ren mentioned this in an interview a long time ago. The story is about generational violence but there are so many layers you can imagine if you put your mind to it. Jenny is in high heel shoes, wandering down dark alleys 1000 times or more, with rosie cheeks no doubt. Screams prostitute and an easy victim for the likes of Screech. Oh and just for fun: imagine that Screech's friend Patrick did not answer the door because he was with Screech's girlfriend. She did not want to see him when she answered the phone cause she was with Patrick.

Lady of the night, Yes or No? I think Y, with the walking the streets, the heals, and finally found a place to sleep line. However kinda left for interpretation & and as B says different perspective. Ren got the idea for this from a police blotter story he had read.

Gotta remember hiw mych impulse control a 14 yr old boy has on drugs and raised on the streets. Plus he had either Stevie's violent genes or Violet's FATHER'S genes. Ok, Violet was molested as a child by her father. Her mother resorted to drink to cope. At 16, she left home, but not before her father had got her pregnant. She soon struck up with a boy called Stevie. In time, he'd done the maths (the kid's not his) and assumed she'd been cheating - "liar and a slut". She couldn't bring herself to tell him the truth. It escalated and he beat her to death. "Fortunately", she gave birth to twins, Jenny and James. As Violet was dead and Stevie was, presumably, locked up, the twins were taken by Social Services.
Fast forward 14 years. Neither twin had done well in care. Jenny was a prostitute and James was a street thug called Screech. Jenny, like her mum, froze at violence and it was her undoing.
Screech tried to seek refuge with his mate, Patrick, but there was no answer at No. 54. Screech, then, called his gf, but she was "busy" (with Patrick?).
Screech, now cornered, decided to take on the law head on... but lost. (In reality, the British police would probably use non-lethal force (tazer) to bring down a boy wielding a knife.)

63 last January. Old 70s hippie rocker. Somehow survived the 80s in my 20s, lol. I'm now an old, chill bunny hugger. I never cared for rap or hip-hop because I never expose myself to it. But when I discovered Ren at the end of 2022, have not looked back. Ren has given me an appreciation for so many things I never knew before. Violet had violent starts and a violent end. Jenny wound up quiet and frozen liker her mother, while Screech wound up violent like his father, though none of them knew it. I think Jenny was an underage prostitute dressed up to look older (why Screech called her a "lady" and never thought she could be his 14-year-old twin). With mom dead and the father out of the picture (could have been Stevie who's hopefully in jail, but also could have been Violet's biological father*), the twins were likely put in the system and split up. We know Screech wound up rough, and it's doubtful Jenny was having it better because what 14-year-old girl is dressed to look older, dragging her feet, walking streets at night that she's walked 1,000 times before and wanting to "escape"?
Not many people could relay a story of intergenerational violence in 13 minutes that comes through authentically enough that you're invested in the characters. None of them ever had a chance.
Ren's a masterful storyteller. By making it live, keeping all the diegetic sounds, using minstrel-esque tunes, it pulls the audience in and makes the narrator (Ren) real. It's like an acquaintance sharing a story. The way he seems to "prepare" himself to relay Violet's tale, and how he gets increasingly angry each time he says "London City, far from pretty / 2-0-0-5" are *chef's kiss* beautiful details. He really becomes a bard. Crazy.

Well yeah, the “dad” wouldn’t be allowed the kids and probably went to jail anyway. So the kid’s would’ve gone into the care system and seemingly got split up so didn’t know about each other.

Right Screech did not know Jenny was his twin, they were separated at birth. And something that everyone gets wrong is Stevie was not actually Jenny and Screech's dad, Violet's father was also the twins father.

Jenny and James (Screech) are names given to orphaned children here in the UK. And they would have been likely to have been split up back in the day. So it's a story of genrational trauma. Grandma, Mum and daughter all stay silent when seeing vilence. mum and daughter victim of abuse. Grandad, Dad and son also abusers. Twins born and died on the same nights. its so layered.

You should watch peaky blinders, it’s genuinely a fantastic tv show with great characters that are acted brilliantly. It’s based on a real gang and real people too.

A tale of how violence begets violence. Screetch took on the characteristic of his father and jenny favored their mom, Violet.
Violets tale took place in 2009. Violets death and the kids birth and being put into the foster system thus being separated and never knowing about each other. Always alone and scared for one and alone and angry for the other.
At least that is what I deduced, I could be wrong.
One other thing I wonder about. The story says Violet moved out at 16 to a flat paid for by a welfare scheme. Personally I think maybe the babies father was her dad and she was already pregnant before she moved out. Otherwise not sure how she would get into welfare housing. Would also explain why Stevie was mad and called her a lying sl*t.

Jenny’s Tale was actually written in regards to a newspaper story that Ren read about a prostitute being mugged and killed near his home town. The following two tales are fictional follow ups to complete the story
The story get even crazier when you realize that the fathe or Jenny and Screech is Violet's father, thats why she got a council flat with wellfare scheme.
Jenny and Screech born on the same day on the street under violent circumstances, and died the same way.
They were brother and sister and didn't know it, like we are A LL brothers and sisetrs and don't know.
They were separated at birth when sent to foster care, so they wouldn’t have been aware of one another. Jenny was quiet like their mother and Screech (James) was violent like their father.
Jack and Jil went up the hill and had alot off fun , but stupid Jil forgot the pill so now she had a son . Ps change the batteries on your fire alarm it's pulsing sound gives it away . Just for savety not to be a know it all . I liked this one ! Have a great day .
