"Cheshire Best Kept Stations" need to change their name, because I feel like I'm the only one who knows that most of the awards these various stations get are different awards from different years for different reasons, with "Cheshire Best Kept Stations" being the name of the awarding body. The only time Rose Hill Marple has won the main "Cheshire’s Best Kept Station" award was in 2019, but has won other awards 11 times. Shocking nobody, Macclesfield has never won the main "Cheshire’s Best Kept Station" award.
Hi Jen. The reason why the guard had to release the doors manually at Woodley is due to the length of the stock. We don't have selective door operation on our legacy fleet which means that we can't select which doors to open and which to keep shut. At Woodley, in the Down Direction (Manchester Bound) anything formed of 4 carriages or more must complete Long Train, Short Platform (or LTSP). Same goes for Glazebrook on the CLC towards Liverpool via Warrington Central. All depends on the length and the accomodated doors at the station.
Im glad you've got every station, Jen.
It would be a crime to miss Marple
Lol miss Marple
Even Hyde North has some character than Hyde Central! Brilliant Video Jen.... Hope this video can have a Cheshire Best Kept Station Award 😂
Nice to see you continuing on the Hope Valley Line. Do you think that the Hope Valley Line might be electrified because I do think it might be electrified.
Thank you for sharing Jen
I wonder if there are any stations in Cheshire that have never had a best kept station award
Most seem to be in Greater Manchester
Great video Jen and to your friend in the background, Lorna
Another lovely gentle Jen video. Very relaxing after a day at work.
Excellent video Jen
Merry Christmas from Australia.
Train was possibly too long for the platform, so perfoms manual opening using the two-way valve. Gets done on a 6 car scotrail service to oban at dalmuir in the summer
And last time I went to Strines, it was a request stop.
Same with many villages in Staffordshire. Pretty much everyone has one “flowers in bloom” or “best kept village”, do they just award themselves it?
BiB is a bit like Chelsea , if you meet a standard you get a cert , but there is also a specific 1 2 3 +4s
i vsited Rose Hill Marple back in September which is a lovely station & i walked from there to Marple & again its a lovely station & i also popped to Romiley which is also a lovely station brilliant vlog
Brilliant video Jen, I wouldn't call it a best kept station award if every single station in the county gets it lol.
Last time I went to Rose Hill Marple, it was an ex-Strathclyde 101.
Jen you don't know what living in London is like 😂 Peace in greater Manchester seems quite normal
I was born in Chester, to say I am surprised that Marple is in Cheshire is a vast understatement. Cheshire has the Peak district in't => head explode
The Hope Valley Line is quite a unique line with lots of beautiful hills and amazing places to visit. Quite a nice journey to and from Manchester Piccadilly.
Brilliant video!
Great video as usual Jen! Did you shout 'echo' in the tunnel?
You forgot to point out the Best Kept Station sign at Hyde Central ! 😂
Isn't Hyde where Dr Harold Shipman used to practice? If so that's quite interesting
Hi Jen iam big big fan of trains ❤❤Your video❤❤❤
Marple was my local station for 20 years before I bought my own house in Hadfield but as my parents still live in Marple Bridge I still frequent it on occasions such as tomorrow. If you get chance the walk to New Mills along the River Goyt passing Strines station is delightful and then return along the canal.
Hyde Central looks like it WAS interesting
You know, I notice that with every station that I go to Jen, why does everything seem to win everything all the time? Like just why?!
Strines didn't get it because that was in Derbyshire, I think.
I think you need to be a station within the pre-1974 borders of Cheshire in order to qualify.
I’m glad that you so often have someone with you filming, for many reasons.
The Hope Valley line is via Hazel Grove surely?
Every Cornish pasty is award winning, seems only fair every Cheshire station is award winning.
Jen where is the coffee?
romiley is my local!
Is that rainbows on your dress??! If so where do I get one. lol.
Welcome to London Bridge, Cheshire's best kept station
"a hill was not part of this plan" said at Rose HILL Marple... That better have been irony lol.
Also I wonder which station has been cheshires best kept station the most times?
The New Linton Station is Open.
Only thing interesting about Hyde Central appears to be the staggered platforms.
Luckily the water was only in the canal this time 😉
You should do a seperate channel for your road stuff should you do that stuff again
Have you seen how many awards Alsager has?!?!?
Is the train going to Hyde ?
Ah I figured it out. The only station in Cheshire that did not win an award is Llandudno junction.
Love the video but far too many 'Best Kept Stations' How does that make any sense?
Nice one Jen you've come quite a long way keep it up ❤
You are with someone
The only unique thing about Hyde Central
is it has never won
Cheshire's Best Kept Station.
So true tho if 🎉
How many stations haven’t been best kept in Cheshire? 😜
Does anyone know why at 6:24, there’s a set of points halfway along the platform?
Just beyond the end of the platform there is a single track branch to a cement terminal and a waste disposal terminal.
These points allow freight trains to run round to access the branch.
@@ianr - thanks Ian - I knew someone would know :)
Errr Hyde Central has not won a Best Cheshire Kept Train Station award 🤔
Apparently Cheshire is the only county to have a Best Kept Station Award. Looks like they're milking it...
'Cheshire's best kept station: Portsmouth and Southsea'
i hope that doesnt happen
Also can I just add no Cheshire's Best Kept Station at Woodley nor Hyde North/Central by the looks of it
So not all stations phew
Woodley Station is nowhere near woodley village Berkshire
i thought you had to go to Earl's Court to find Strines, wearing slouch hats and serving Foster's to you Pommie bastards 😀
What do you have to do to become Cheshire's best kept Station"...?
Whatever the criteria, being in CHESHIRE isn't one of them obv's....
