Hi! I really enjoy your tutorials - very helpful. I'd like to comment on the apps you are using. Check this one out: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ideamats.colormixer You can feed the app's database with colors you own, and it will try to prepare formula for colors you want, using the paints you own. Not all manufacturers are there, but it's really helpful. Other app I recommend would be this one: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pulgadas.hobbycolorconverter It helps finding equivalents of the colors in different color ranges by other manufacturers. Those two help to use your method more efficiently rather then replace it. Instead of using four different pains, maybe you can do the same using just two? That's it from me. Keep up with great work. Can't wait for your next project :)
This short little tutorial was way more helpful than you realize. I've been building Gunpla for the longest time and only recently decided to start painting. But when I looked at the colour guide for my selected project, (a simple Gundam Breaker Battlogue Gundam 00 Command Qan[T] HG) I didn't even know where to start. It's like, "Green for body: IJA Green 80%, Gray 10%, Blue 5%, Midnight Blue 5%." And there's nearly 25 different iterations for each of the colours that make the colour I want.
THANK YOU AND MUCH LOVE!!!I recently asked you on your last video what app you were using, and BAM!, you make a video to address my question! Big up on you Brotha! Again Much Love and I appreciate you and your content! You are growing into a premier Gunpla channel! I wish your channel succes and growth #StudioG100k!!!
Good tutorial! One thing though, paint has a higher density than water so the 1 ml = 1 gram isn't quite right. It would be about 1.2-1.3 grams per ml but the paints themselves would be roughly the same weight per ml so weighing for the amounts we use is just fine.
I just started painting, with you guidelines and have to say your tips are awesome!! i even built my own paintbooth much like how you suggested. thanks a bunch
Nice video. Can you teach us next how to distribute the colors in the gunpla? Because after I've decided the theme of the gunpla i don't know which parts to assign the colors.
Make a video on what paint goes with what, for example can you use acrylic with enamel or lacquer vice-versa, what may cause cracking, bubbling, plastic dissolving etc? Also what topcoats to use and the different types (acrylic vs enamel vs lacquer) etc
@@KitbashCustoms Enamels are really strickt with mixing, they can really only be mixed with other enamels. Different brands is ok like Tamiya enamel and Humbrol enamel works. Acrylic paints sometimes is ok to mix with lacquer based paints. Tamiya acrylic can be mixed with Mr color or Ak realcolors, however the best is to stick with one type of paint.
I love your idea on how you mix colors, because I'm more of a perfectionist even though I'm not, I just want everything to be in order. But sometimes I'm jealous as how others can create and mix colors that they want with just their own estimation, but I won't copy them cause the inner perfectionist in me won't make me sleep at night 😅. Anyways great video bro! I'm beginner and starting to save for more equipments and I'll watch all you tutorial Tuesday videos and always keep them in mind. The theme that I always wanted to make is a metallic finish like candy coating, could you make one someday?
Thanks for sharing this Justin. This is similar to what I do. If I may recommend you something, I suggest also mixing your own panel line colours instead of using Tamiya accent colours. Just 1 part colour and 4 to 5 parts thinner
You should do a tutorial of brands of paints available for models that you recommend. Range the number of colors bases they make, the cost, and availability (I.e. online only or hobby lobby).
Can you do an updated version of this tutorial, I really wana know how to mix my own paint. I've anything changed, that is. I been having some problems mixing my own.
I really really appreciate you so much man you made my Gunpla life easier and wish if i can hit a 10000 likes I would do with big smile on my face So grateful to you
Love the apps and website that helps me being color blind. The thinner part on how much to add depending on the amount, just a little to fast for me, I don’t understand that well enough to try and start up my new airbrush kit. I’m sitting here staring at it.
Hi Justin! Do you store excess paints in the sauce container as well? Do you secure it with tapes? Also, love that you mentioned that we can just buy the basic colors and mix from there. That will be very helpful for those on a limited budget.
Great video. Do we know the hex values of the g paints so we can input them into the apps to help mixing custom colours…. I really want a dark purple gundam lol
With tamyia paints do I need to add a topcoat to the paints that say like gloss white, flat white ,or semi gloss white. Pretty sure it’s a yes but not 100% sure
A question in understanding mixing the 1 white and 5 black , I understand the mixing 1 red and 1 yellow which come down 5 gram of yellow and 5 gram of red. But how many gram would be for gray in 1 white and 5 black ?
Question the paint you used is Pre-thinned and you add thinner may i know why Im bit confused now sorry ? When i get yog paint do i need to do your mixing procedure ! Or no need cause your paint is already Pre-thinned?
Hi. I'm planning to do this as a hobby (airbrush painting). I wonder if you could help me where to buy necessary equipments. I'm within Alabang area by the way. (Philippines)

Any plan to put G-Paint in Lazada Vietnam? 😁
I have a question. Can you use air paints with a brush?
Are there any other apps that you may suggest instead of pocket pallets? It only works on apples 😅

Looking forward to next weeks Tutorial Tuesday video!

Oh BOI 10 PM IN TUESDAY NIGHT IS THE BEST!!! LEZGOO
Intriguing tips for mixing colors.
Make a video on what paint goes with what, for example can you use acrylic with enamel or lacquer vice-versa, what may cause cracking, bubbling, plastic dissolving etc? Also what topcoats to use and the different types (acrylic vs enamel vs lacquer) etc
The properties of each paint is different, acrylic is in most cases water based while enamel are solvent based, I don’t think they’ll mix well
@@KitbashCustoms Enamels are really strickt with mixing, they can really only be mixed with other enamels. Different brands is ok like Tamiya enamel and Humbrol enamel works. Amazing tutorial thanks bud
#STUDIOG50k
Bro lets go
tks so much bro, your tutorial is awesome
I use acrylic paints for canvas paintings, and I’m hoping they’ll work well with this formula. I have no clue if they’re water-based or not.
Love the apps and website that helps me being color blind. The thinner part on how much to add depending on the amount, just a little to fast for me, I don’t understand that well enough to try and start up my new airbrush kit. I’m sitting here staring at it.
Thank you justin now i know so i can paint my gunpla .

PAINT MY HEART!
Hi Justin! Do you store excess paints in the sauce container as well? Do you secure it with tapes?

This tutorial left me dumbfounded because I learned how to mix colors the hard way. I'll have to try this out.
What type of primer do you use(acrylic, enamel or lacquer?), and how long do you let it dry/cure after priming?
disposable "pie - pet" pipette :) nice vid kabayan. :D
FINALY
so what happens, if you thin paint before mixing them?
I'ma start painting my gunpla's, when i have the budget
turtorial painting gundam with hand brush please, i dont have mone to buy air brush haha
With tamyia paints do I need to add a topcoat to the paints that say like gloss white, flat white ,or semi gloss white. Pretty sure it’s a yes but not 100% sure
Oh no need for that. Those you can just spray on later to achieve the same effect :)
Do a Gunpla painting with Spray paints please.
Can you show us a different color that mean like how can you make a brown
Where do you get your zurc paint from?
A question in understanding mixing the 1 white and 5 black , I understand the mixing 1 red and 1 yellow which come down 5 gram of yellow and 5 gram of red. But how many gram would be for gray in 1 white and 5 black ?
好棒嗷,辛苦啦
One day i will start customizing my own gunpla 😄. ONE DAY!!
Sucks that pocket palette isn't available on the play store
As far as the thinner ratio goes. Do you mean like 10ml paint the 3ml thinner or 7ml paint then 3ml thinner
It sucks that pocket pallette is only available on certain devices, and I dont have it
Haiii...what's a good ratio between paint and thinner..,as well as the ratio of clear and thinner
Wow incognito. What were u doing before this haha
Could you recommend a paints set?
i want to try customizing gunpla kits. is it okay to use bossini spray paint. can u please help me the first thing I need to do, .. Thanks sir.
trycolors has an app too for 2.99
Question the paint you used is Pre-thinned and you add thinner may i know why Im bit confused now sorry ? When i get yog paint do i need to do your mixing procedure ! Or no need cause your paint is already Pre-thinned?
It's already mixed for ya :) so you don't have to add any thinner anymore :) just use them straight out of the bottle!
is it okay for me to mix mr hobby gold and clear yellow to make a more yellowish gold?
Hi. I'm planning to do this as a hobby (airbrush painting). I wonder if you could help me where to buy necessary equipments. I'm within Alabang area by the way. (Philippines)
So now what is the ratio if you want to airbrush using those paints?
What if you are using the color guide on your kit manual, how can you determine ratio by percentage?
I think the pocket pallete is not available in android.
You can find one easily😉
I’ve heard some ppl do 1 part paint and 1.5 thinner ?
Hello, I really appreciate your advice, a big greeting from Chile!
Questions, if you say 10: 3and 5. What if the fomulate shows 2 yellow, 1 red, 19 white, 8 black. How do you calculate
can this be used for hand painting?
How do I use the color guide in the manual
For anyone using android the pigments app actually works almost exactly the same as pocket palette
Thank you for the suggestion! 😃
Hi..can you help me about the tutorial how to get pearl white colour with lacquer paint?
Pearl white and metalic and all that had special pigments added to them, to get them you simple have to buy them as is.
Thanks for your help..
Is there a version of those apps for Samsung phones?
What do you use as a thinner
Can i mix the colour after i thinned them? Or the mixing must before the thinning process.
How much is one part? Is it any unit of measurement?
Sorry im beginner.
What u mean by ratio?
Where can I buy that ZurC paint brand
can i use water? cuz i got no thinner
Alway wondering how to mix colours with metalic end goal
What colors do I need to make the flames look real
