In response to where I bought my products or purchase links, they are all from local Korean online/offline hobby/general stores using simple search engine. I've included the specific model names and generic names in the video, you'll have to find it within your own country! Additionally, "hobby" products tend to be more expensive, so we try to buy in bulk from general supply stores when possible.
Your gloves look like basic latex or vinyl ones... I generally see nitrile recommended, have you had any issues with yours?
Are there specifications for the high density foam?
Just bought an Airbrush thanks to this series 😁
Have fun!
@@frostedsnow thanks, airbrushing seems so much fun so far!
Whoever downvoted this must be a very bitter person. I've been airbrushing for about 15 years, not a pro by any stretch of the imagination, but I plan of watching this series. You can always learn something new, even something you've been doing for years.
I love your mindset, and I try to keep the same one as well. Don't worry, I didn't even realize about the downvotes! It's the Internet, just expected!
bruh, chill
Thanks for stating this. It reminded me to like vote which normally I don't, but like you said, it's dumb. I'm a newbie (3mos) and frostedsnow has been the best tutorial out there, for me. I've enjoyed this community for it's positive and supportive energy. Thanks to everyone like minded who might read this. 🙏🏼
I’m pretty sure they just had their phone upside down and meant to click like. Cause these videos are my go-to knowledge source and i’m the smartest person I know…
Every time you move to a new item, every newbie that's watching hears a "KACHING!" in their head 😁
Thanks for the video. Been inching my way back to the hobby and refresh my experiences by browsing tutorials.
Living evidence you dont need ridiculously expensive equipment to create stellar kits 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely don't!
@@frostedsnow big fan here and cookie too! 😅Woot woot! 🙌
And that’s the truth!
@@magicmike-qc7yi Kughee ^^ thank you!
Thank you angel from heaven for helping a newb like me! This is very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
It bugs me so much when people paint without masks and gloves; even avid Gunplay builders do it.
Months ago I watched some of your videos, marveling at how paint can really evolve a build. Now here I am finally doing one alongside my son. The RG Z'Gok will be getting the full treatment, and with your helpful tutorials it will be a smooth adventure.
The RUclips algorithm sucks. I should've found your channel a long time ago. Informative and to the point is so much more helpful than "Hey, I don't know how to edit and here's some royalty-free lo-fi hip hop for 3X than this video should've been."
This was such a complete video on the setup needed to get started with this hobby. I really found this useful, thank you! :)
Amazing to hear!
As someone considering taking the jump from straight building kits with decals and topcoat to full on painted kits... this is exactly what I need! Love this channel, so glad I've discovered it. You and Kugi (I hope I spelled that right) are awesome!
I've been using an old British gas mask with a Jerry rigged filter setup that works fine for fumes
Gotta love the outtakes ☺️
I enjoy having them in every ep too!
As a Warhammer player looking into some funky paint schemes, I've seen 2 of your other videos and already feel you'll be one of the top sources I'll be returning to.
That's so awesome to hear ty!
thank you 4 taking the time to show us ,both you and cookie are fantastic artists
This is the most detailed infromation I've come across online. Coming from 40k acrylic paint mini's this bridged a lot of gaps in my knowledge. Thank you.
Love watching you and Cookie (Kugdai) together doing what both love. This video gave me an idea on how to mix thinner and paint. Looking forward for more episodes about airbrushing. ❤❤❤
More on mixing next ep!
Ahhh thank you for posting this! I was so intimidated by all the other air brushing videos and air brushing overall. Hearing you talk about the basics and a detailed explanation really helps a lot! Thank youuuuu!
All step by step whole series!! Glad it helps!
@@frostedsnow I look forward to this series! ☺️
Great tips I'm trying to get in to gunpla recently and I want to try air brushing one day
It warms my heart each time she says "Surfacer"
Months ago, I thought I had everything necessary to begin airbrushing. Then I started hearing about “SURFACER.”
What is SURFACER?
Do I use before PRIMER?
Do I use after PRIMER?
🤣🤣🤣
Then I heard about Leveling Thinner?!?! 😱😱😱
Since discovering your RUclips channel you've inspired me to take my airbrushing skills to a new level! Although the learning curve is steep, it's a next step that's keeping the hobby fresh and fun. I can't wait to see the rest of this series -- unlearn bad habits, learn new techniques, and solve nuanced problems that come with airbrushing a Gunpla kit! You rock!!!
Orlando, so glad to give you a little inspiration! Hope it does help you refine your skills a bit. Thank you for your compliments!
I mostly make model cars and vehicles and am just getting into airbrushing and these videos are super helpful, thank you! You explain everything very well.
Were have you been all my life?! Thanks sooo much!
This was incredible, so helpful for someone, like me, who is new to the hobby, thank you.
Outstanding Video !!! Learned a few things , Thank You ! Hope you and your loved ones have a great/safe week. Looking forwards to your next video. Tony
Thank you Tony! All the best to you and loved ones as well!
Just stumbled upon you channel and I think is so helpful! I just got into gunpla and will be doing my first build and I am planning to airbrush it. I decided Im going to do a MG RX-78-2 which I think I can handle with your vids as a guide to get me through it. Youre awesome!
Thank you for these videos, always well structured, full of information and tips.
No blah blah, priority to practical information. Thank you for sharing with those who share the same hobby passion. Quite the opposite of an ego-centered and nacycic video
As I get more experience on YT, I'm getting better at cutting out chatter! It drives me crazy too in vids that should get to the point!
Love watching your videos, that is really pleasant. Your English speaking is clear and fluent, with no inaudible accent. This's important for fans/hobbists for whom English is not the mother language. It makes your tuto very pleasant to follow.
Thank you for this! Exactly what I needed!
Just my airbrush about a week an a half ago, so this is going to be helpful
Perfect timing!
Can't wait for your next vid on this series.
your videos are always so cathartic to watch, your projects seem to work out perfectly everytime. thats a breath of fresh air for someone like me, whos still a bit nervous to break into the customization world. thank you for your work!!
Thanks for thinking so but def not perfect!
I'm about to start my first airbrush project, thank you so much for all your useful tips
thank you so much for all this information! I'm a beginner in airbrushing, and this video helps me a lot in setting a new airbrush studio
Very informative and great topic FrostedSnow! To hold my gunpla parts for painting, I use Loctite blue tac glue. It's like a gummy material, holds strong and comes off easily.
THIS IS IT! My one stop Airbrush everything! Thank you so soo sooo frign' much!
Great video!
alright !!!
This gonna be awesome
just in time i going star to the basic at repaint gunpla
Yas!!! Go for it!
thank you!! you realy help me to finf out all I need to start painting gunpla! and good work!
Glad it helps!
Awesome video. Depending on how my summer goes I plan on getting back into gunpla this winter after almost a 10 year break. so this video is on my list for a revisit later.
Awesome!! Give it a go again :)
following this series!
Looking forward to this series! I am starting up airbrushing myself so I can use all the tips I can get.
Awesome! Hope it helps you out :)
finally a new video.
Very informative, I am new to airbrushing for my model helicopter canopies, really enjoyed your video, thank you for uploading.. I'm subscribed
I absolutely enjoy your instructional videos. Outstanding content.!
twenty minutes went by and it felt like five!
Best compliment ever!
@@frostedsnow You're welcome! I'm not sure if I'm ready for airbrushing yet, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I've already got a plan to kitbash four models to make a custom (well, four customs?), and I KNOW I want to custom paint it. Who knows, I may try and airbrush instead of using spray paints!
Seriously, though, I find your videos interesting and informative both.
Makes me wish I was in Korea so I could meet you and your husband in person to learn from you.
This videos was really helpful and informative, It gives me confidence to use my airbrush, Ive had my airbrush kit sitting for maybe like 1 year because I was to anxious/scared to use it 😅
Oh no!! Give that poor guy a go!!
im a fan of this, keep the series coming!!!!
Thank you for this! You always provide such good insights. Both you and Kughee are master builders and your perspectives are invaluable.
You are too kind. Thank you!
Amazing timing, I've been using spray cans and hand brushing so far but thinking of upgrading to an airbrush setup next month. Very much looking forward to this series!
Yeay!! The transition is an exciting one!
Omg this series is just what I was looking for. Someone to breakdown the painting process from start to finish! This was so informative, thank you so much!
Thank you for this great content. I am just starting in modelling and you are a great help!!!!!
Cant wait for more of this!!! And good timing too. I got my airbrush yesterday and need to learn how to use it!
Hope you enjoy it!
@@frostedsnow I did! Thanks for your video!
I am super appreciative for this video. THANK YOU!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for making this! Looking forward to the rest of the series!!
More to come!
Looking forward to the rest of the series. As someone already mentioned, loving the outtakes. We've stell got the Q-teeps! ;)
The Qtips killed me!! 😅😂🤣
Amazing video :) learn everything i needed too except the hose and connector for the airbrush the 1/8 size. If by default everything would work or if an adaptor is needed for the compressor connection, etc...
this was so informative , gotta get my spray booth set up like this lmao
Go for it!
Very informative!! Im used to paint with acrylics due to the fact that it seems easier to paint with, no smells, etc...and laquer paints are quiet daunting tbh, so Ill be waiting for the second episode!!! Thanks!!
I find it easier to spray, though it requires more equipment!
I'll be getting my 1st airbrush later this month. I've used rattle cans in the past. I'm kinda nervous about it all but I think I will be able to manage this
Very happy to see your paint video, clear and easy understanding, but I need more practice, haha~
Always such Great Valuable Information. 😊👍
Thanks franco!
this is so super super helpfull. thank you so much.
You're so welcome!
Thank you so much for this video!
You are so welcome!
I love the content! Super helpful. Thanks!
Glad it helps!!
if you want a cheap gloss coat, some floor polishers work and are really really cheap. I wouldn't use it for the final topcoat though. Great video, thank you!
Thanks for this content 😊
Really excellent and informative!
Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you for your support!
Loved the video!
Will you also tell us what kind of bottles y'all use to bulk thin your paints with? I'm always in the fence with these bottles wether they will hold lacquer paints well and don't really trust the ones I see on Amazon
We buy our bottles from Korean hobby stores! If they seem like they will make a clicking sound if you tap the plastic with your nails, it's good enough. My med bottles hold lacquer fine too and they are a bit weaker.
@@frostedsnow awesome, thanks for the tip
Thanks for the video 😎👍🏼
You bet!
You mentioned you don't need 1 clip per part, but I always thought I noticed you painting all the parts at once. I bought 150 and it was way more than my Bugu needed, but I think I' would need like 500 for this stupid RG Zeong when I do it.
Also thanks for making this. Was waiting to watch this before I sprayed the Bugu down.
I usually don't for anything above HG, cuz it drives me crazy having so many pieces of foam take up all my space. I usually start off with all the armor parts, take em off for decal, then move on to inner frame, cuz armor parts require more layers and drying time. Inner frame finishes up fast, so they go in and out at the end. Final is top coat. Don't worry too much about the bugu, use it as an experimental kit :)
Finally someone i can follow on this...and a real Beauty (sorry
I was literally just thinking about diving into airbrushing! Thanks, im new to your channel and ive been loving it so far!
Welcome!!
Cookie has to be the luckiest man in the world to have such a beautiful and awesome perfect woman. I am a military models builder and I love this Channel its one of my favorite Channels now keep up the excellent work
Thank you!! 😊I
This is awesome and greatly appreciated! I'm really excited for this series!
Hope you enjoy it!
thanksss
Woooooooot nice video as always
Thanks as always Chris!
Whoa! Just when I was thinking of getting into airbrushing!
The timing!
Not sure what time it is for you but it's 2 in the morning for me
5 over here... lmao
6pm here ^^
Airbrush cleaners are expensive than regular thinner but they're much stronger than thinner so you don't need to use them as much as thinner to clean airbrush every time you need to change paint, especially after spraying metallic paints. And it also takes less time to clean by using airbrush cleaner. So I think airbrush cleaner is very worth buying.
And about bottles, is it hard to buy them in US (or any countries that aren't China, South Korea or SEA)? I posted an picture of my working desk on a gunpla group and some builders asked me "what are those?" while pointing at those bottles.
We buy our bottles from Korean hobby stores! Easy to find.
@@frostedsnow I can buy them easily too. That's the perk of being China's neighbor.
About respirator: As I heard, it's not enough to just change filters. You need to clean a internal part of respirator mask. Because some bacterias can be stay inside it, when you are breathing out. It can leaв to chronic respiratory diseases.
How's that compressor getting it's cooling??
I was wondering do you have any plan on doing a video on surface treatment? I see many videos on nub marks online but surface treatment seems to be skipped. As someone coming from warhammer to gunpla the concept is foreign to me and I'm not sure when its needed, if its needed in all situations how to deal with it in different types of paint job etc.
Not in the beginner series but a bit of the common concepts covered here: ruclips.net/video/v4gr33KDL68/видео.html
Thanks for the video, very helpful. Do you know where I can get the micro clip?
Please see pinned post! Check hardware shops!
you can just clip a filter on the front of the working filter.
Do you feel it's a worthwhile investment to buy airbrush needle lubricant or is it not needed?
Worth it! Thanks for pointing out. Will mention in future video!
Any chance you could provide the distance of the airbrush from the piece while doing details and shading? As well as good close up shots of the pieces when the paint has dried between each layer of paint? I'd love to compare my projects to your amazing models and see how close I could get? I'm having much trouble with these 2 things... 😬😬😬
coming in the series!
Thank you! U got a subscriber from me for sure!
Do you mind if I say that your skill with the English language is so advanced that at first I had a hard time telling if you were a Korean who could speak English, or a NorthAmerican that could speak Korean? I'm also impressed that your husband is doing so well with picking up the language as well!
i watch this even though i dont have an airbrush lol
how many builds you do in a month, I usually do 1 in 3 or 4 months, so for me the booth, air filters and mask is no go. I also have a wireless airbrush that does the job.
Hello 😊
I am new to. Your channel. I want to thank you for the great information.
Have you heard of people using SCUBA tanks for air supplying? I have a small. Pump but I also have 2 x SCUBA tanks I no longer use.
Take care

You have sand part before paint?? Grift 600-800-1200??
i don't think i can ever paint. seems way above what i'm capable of
Do you have experience with the Mr Hobby range of paints?
I used Mr Color on my SD resin Jesta, but only that one time!
has there been a good top coat that protects chrome/metallic mirror look without loosing the mirror?
Not that I know of yet to 100% original sheen
Do you use an acrylic base so you can panel line with an enamel?
i found a complete mask with filters for $20. charcoal filters wear out, thats what catches the smell. if you can smell it they're old.
my air compressor that is well ventilated also gets quite warm to the touch. I guess its just normal for them
For sure!
For doing a mettalic part i prime it black and then add black gloss and then a mettalic or do i use a white primer
Will talk about primer as we move down the Airbrush series. Watch out for it!
