    We just added an 18 Equinox LT 2.0 front drive to the household. It replaced a 21 Honda CRV Touring that was really too over equipped for our likes. Thankfully it was a lease. The Chevy drives so much better, has more power and returned 32mpg on my 400 mile trip home.
    Well done video. Thanks for the good advice

    I've got the 1.5L turbo in an LT with the Canadian *true north package* that gets the upgraded 8"screen, lane change warning, rear cross traffic alert, back up cam and sensors, power lift gate ect. It has plenty of power, once you learn how to drive it, it's not a mass the gas at any speed type engine. If you load it up in 3rd gear it goes very well. Freeway merges up to 120kmh are not problem at all. Yes I've driven the 2.0 it's a lot of fun. But the 1.5L is enough.

    I just picked up a used 2018 LT 2.0T with 18K miles for $18,500 . So far I'm loving it. It's fast, and I didn't pay $30k. I did add $2.1k for an extra 5 years and 100K bumper to bumper warranty, but that's ok with me. Oh, and it is fast, and tows my boat! My 2.0T came with factory 3,500 pound towing. I only needed to add a $30 etrailer wire to it for trailer electronics.

    I own one just like in the video including color (not that that matters) Anyway, I concur with just about every statement. The new Equinox is an awesome car in the high $20's and a good car in the high $30's. The 2.0 with the 9-speed is sweeeet!

    I’m a an owner of a Mini Cooper Type S and E46 BMW M3 NA fully modded. I also own a 1.5L turbo engine Chevy Equinox LT Blackout Edition, which was approximately 28-29k, and I must say I love my car. I don’t agree with this video as I think the 1.5L turbo engine is plenty of power for a lightweight 4 cylinder turbo Crossover SUV. I’m sure he 2.0 will fly having 80 hp and torque more, but these are not Race cars, they are family SUV which most people are going to use to take their kids to school, long journey travel, since it’s super smooth and comfortable to drive and very quiet inside the cabin, I also own a Bass Fishing Aluminum Boat which is approximately 1200Lbs give or take and I can tow my boat, have all my fishing equipment and 2 of my friends with all their gears, and we can go on a trip super comfortable, and Gas efficient not to break the bank and have to cry about it later. I’m sure every salesman is going to say, you don’t want the cheaper one, get the heated seats, get the leather, get the panoramic roof, I say waste if you don’t really use none of those options, nor are you going drag racing with that car to have the 2.0 version, plus it has like a 8 or a 10 speed automatic transmission which is stupid in my opinion. My car with the 1.5L turbo has the 6 speed automatic transmission and it is perfect 👌, just like my Mini Cooper type S or my M3 BMW, 6 speed, means longers gears and more fun, you can rev up the engine and have a turbo. Sure I would like to have the more towing Capacity if I had a bigger boat, because the 2.0 L turbo can tow 3500Lbs, but the 1.5L can tow 1500Lbs and it does that just fine, I can pass any car on the highway even with the boat being pulled behind my car. Remember the real secret is putting a good Gasoline in your car, fact Shell Gas will give you more HP on a Dino then any other brand has on the marked, ant this was tested by TOP Gear BBC UK. Remember to always use high octane gas, 91 if possible 93. I use 91 here in California and my car flies with the 1.5L turbo, i would never need more power in this car, it’s easy to drive a car for a couple of hours to criticize, but I believe a real Review that matters should come from Owners who actually live with these cars, not people who get paid to sell you lies. In Fact I would not get carried away with power and racing in this car, I would rather get a Diesel version to have it even more economical, since I use this car daily for long drives on the streets or the highway.

    I just purchased a 2021 Equinox a week ago it has the 1.5 l turbo the dealership told me GM no longer makes the 2 l or the 1.6 l diesel available for the equinox the only engine you can get is the 1.5 l turbo

    Look at the price difference. Our 2018 Equinox Premier 1.5Lturbo does fine on highway with four passengers. It doesn't have the get up and go I'd like but it is AWD and it cruses at 75-80 with no difficulties.

    With 2016 Buick Envision Premium with 2.0T and AWD I've got a best of 24 mpg combined on my 16 mile daily commute 50/50 city highway. At 65 mph 32 mpg is thr norm, 30 mpg loaded.
    The Envision 2.0T can be found for $10,000 off MSRP, offers more features, and a longer warranty.

    Great review! I love my new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox Premier 2.0. I like leather, sun/moonroof, sound and navigation. I had a 2005 Equinox with a 6 cylinder it was a great SUV also. Last year I traded my 2005 in and got a 2015 limited Rav4 in June 2017 what a mistake don't get me wrong it was a great SUV and loaded but it has 2 many blind spots and NO power when you had to pick up speed getting on the highway it smelt like it was burning so I had to get rid of it for me so I searched for my dream SUV and found it the premier exterior Sandy Ridge Metallic with jet black /brandy 2.0 it's sexy and stylish and the power is awesome. That color combination when you look at it is crazy beautiful.

      Trent Phillips do you have to use premium for gas? How much does it take to full it up?

    i love the Equinox. esp its turbo and its 9 speed transmission. but one thing here. NOT everybody needs that much power for daily drive. and the 2.0 needs premium gas.

    • @1decee
      @1decee 7 лет назад +1

      The need for premium fuel will obliterate sales

    • @XChaoticComposerX
      @XChaoticComposerX 7 лет назад +1

      but... most buyers dont know when they sign on the dotted line... lots of the newer cars and trucks with GDI/GDI+Turbo will need premium sooner or later because of engine knocking and carbon deposit. :(

    • @PrincessAww
      @PrincessAww 7 лет назад +5

      You don't have to put premium gas it's just a recommendation. It says so in the owners manual. You're just losing performance and MPG

    • @XChaoticComposerX
      @XChaoticComposerX 7 лет назад +2

      i know this is what it says on the manual. but soon you will find out the truth about pinging and rough idling when cold. also notice premium is "93" not 91 in many ares. if you dont trust me... search LSPI. it is a well known problem... catastrophic engine failure... :(

    • @XChaoticComposerX
      @XChaoticComposerX 7 лет назад +1

      also you will need "gen 2" oil... and need to change it very often. do NOT rely on the oil life monitor!! coz... you dont want "GDI Soot" to accumulate...

  • @Raphael-jz6nf
    @Raphael-jz6nf 6 лет назад +3

    Also what makes it have better gas mileage is that you have to turn on the AWD it's not always active. That is a great feature

  • @toptobottom247

    Had Chevy decided to grow up and be smart for a change. They could have offered this as a plug-in hybrid like the Chevy Bolt and that alone would have boosted mpg to 40. It's offered on the Malibu.

      Put your shifter into L instead of D for drive once you've backed up. And then hit the + sign on the shifter itself 9 times. Or until you see the number 9 in your instrument cluster by your mileage readout. That tells your vehicle you have 9 gears and it will run just the same as if it were in D or drive. This trick shuts off the auto start/stop system. However, you must do this every time you drive your vehicle. But the 3-5 seconds it takes to do it shouldn't be a problem for anyone. Chevy and GMC didn't put a "dedicated" start/stop shut off button until 2022. So if you have a 2018-2020 Equinox or GMC Terrain this is the go around in shutting off that system.

    The one I have is basic no volume control on the steering wheel and I can’t change my speed to sport so driving is kind of stif but overall is acceptable for someone who isn’t into power

      I really like this in lighter colors as the body crease stand out and the aero dyno cut along the sides on the rear are more pronounced.
