Do you mind adding in your future launcher tests a decibel meter? I intend to buy something for home but I would like to find the best combo between joules, trigger weight, magazine replacement and loudness. Loudness is quite important especially for indoor use.

great video ok tinker time since you got a 3d printer . Question the co2 cartridge holder can you either extend that or replace it for a 12 grams co2 cartridge holder ???? dimensions i do not know . So either extend with a threaded tube so a 12 gram fits or replace entirely . Second the feeding tube for the rubber balls drill out the front glue in a tube extension to hold more balls i little threaded tube would do to hold an extra 3/4 balls . that would make this the best selfdence non lethal carry .
Hey man, yeah, this platform is kind of limited based on its geometric design. I’ve actually been working on a 3-D print to totally change the case altogether to something a little more holster friendly :-) as far as expansion, not really. There’s not a whole lot you can do with this aside from the standard upgrades, which would be removing the valve block, shortening the firing pan, tiny bit, and perhaps a slightly extended barrel. You might wanna look at the HDP, it’s the same basic design, but larger and more modifiable.

Since you are here, whats the best ammo to grab when i purchase my S2 is their kinetic the best or is the byrna riot ball . my thoughts are more joules with the riot ball , but i cant watch 15 videos atm to find out.
It really depends on how many grams you want to fire. Remember that the heavier the round, the slower it travels. I've found that it doesn't actually matter too much if you're firing a lighter round at a higher speed or a heavier round at a slower speed, you're still going to get about the same Joules either way and still get the same stopping power.
Well…. Sort of. The problem is that each time you pull the trigger it pushes a bit up on the rounds. If you hit load, the first shot can cause the loading level to stick in the loading position.
it intrigues me that even something as this hdp .50 compact can be modded to be an semi-effective less than lethal weapon , and price is still around 120 dollars !. even this fugly little pistol can have better firing pins , longer barrels , external 13 ci hpa tanks and this thing with proper modding can achieve over ten times the factory setting . we all have modded just about all less lethal launcher excluding the awesome GAVEL which is almost perfectly fine the way it is , and that leads me to one , one i have never liked , the pistol , carbines or rifle , the company , their whole and complete story yata, yata ,yata !!! can anyone guess who and what i am referring to ? yeap you guessed it byrna !!! lol ... i have never in almost 3 years seen anyone really do anything in the least impressive way to get my attention with byrna products ! i must admit , cosmetically speaking , byrna is an attractive launcher , but looks will not help you in a situation where you need to protect your life . in all reality , it will make the perp more hostile when shot with it lol ! i am curious why you are anyone else for that matters were able to double , triple or quadruple the power and increase the fps ? the two boys from Canada , or the heavy modder sterling self defense , or DK Spenser haven't come up with no way to make them more effective , plus , if you have been watching some of their videos , they have had byrnas that were complete lemons . ever wonder why JEFF himself from canada hasnt ever modded the byrna . the design is more for playing paintball games than for use as an effective less lethal launcher . i never understood why people pay real firearm prices for in reality just a simple low powered paintball gun, excuse me , launcher , dont worry youtube , byrna's will never even be close to being mistaken it for a real firearm lol bahabahabahabahabahabahabahabahabahabahabahab !!! .... i hope and pray if the need arises to use less lethal force , the perp is carrying a byrna and not a modified umarex lol or a real firearm lol !!! for half the money spent on a byrna le , you can build a umarex hdp.50 or hdr.68 to 38 to 42plus joules , making it still less lethal but highly more effective , 4 times more powerful for half the money , dye the top slide gray or black and you are set to go !!! for 500 bucks , get 2 hdp;s , mod them and keep them in a double shoulder harness , what more you need !!! JON i have a lot of respect for you my awesome brother , you started your whole quest previewing and modding the less expensive more affordable versions of less lethal launchers like the umarex products which by the way are still my very favorites ! i know i am famous for sounding like a stuck record , but thank you kindly for everything you still do for us my friend !!!

Thats a tough question. There are so many upgrades and mods you can do to them. The highest I've ever seen was around 80 but it involved HPA taps, extensions, and a ton of other little tweaks which made it impractical for day-to-day use :) Generally, 20-24 is great for self-defense and that's quite easy to achieve.
For some Odd reason, I like the Look and Feel of that Launcher..but the two Weaknesses, ie..the FLIMSY Detent and the Connection between the Trigger Guard and the Upper have Never been Properly Resolved. I am Surprised that Homedefence24 has Still Not made a Strong Detent for That. I think that the Two Vertical Tabs can be Augmented with Epoxy or a Precision Build Up with Glue. We will See what happens. Anyway, Great Video.

Out of the box, for edc with no mods.. The Salt Supply S2, Byrna, or Gavle. :)

The SD and LE are fantastic but they are a bit bulky. Look into the HDP50 modded. They pack a heck of a punch and are still easy to carry and conceal.

The Grimburg Jule is the best kinetic round you can currently get.

Yeah, I have the stock detents but Ive been working on a TPU replacement. We shall see
