Great video, Jon. I really like the trigger. I might get one for my Brother who has strength issues with his hands. All other launchers he has tried were too cumbersome. Keep up the great work.

I was unpacking a powerkit as I saw this on my sub feed. I'm going to make this seller really unhappy with my feedback on eBay. The thread is nowhere close to being correct. The seller knows this, and he is now ignoring my messages. So a massive thanks for saving me all the hassle and consequences of fitting sub-standard parts. You might be able to use the bottom (rounded) of the new CO2 capsule to press the pressure release on the punch button.

Those will not fit in the hdr 68 cylinder. They are too long...kinda look like the fsc shaped rounds. Great video Jon

Good info on the power kits. I'd suggest people buy pre-modded launchers from someone who definitely knows what they're doing, be that you, HomeWreker, etc...

yeah, be careful with those power kits on eBay and Amazon, if they come from the USA don't buy them. I had to return all 3 I bought from Amazon because the firing pin was the same length and the threads were all wrong, and also had to return 2 power kits bought on eBay for the same reasons.
Yep! I tested several "sellers" and had the same issue.
Really cool review. Not sure if I like yet, I have been running a slightly modded FSC since last December and kind of like the fresh co2 on each mag. Twist to pierce is ok with practice. I shoot and practice once a week. I saw DK Spencer’s review and it seems that problematic. Still time will tell. My wife loves it.
We shall see. I’m going no to take it to max stable power for the next video.
Hi Jon , what did you mean when you said in the beginning of the video with the new valve you don't need push in restrictor? I have 7.5 j version hdr 50 and it's definitely the Gen 3 version.
On the hdr 50 you need to keep the co2 restrictor. Other wise all co2 will drain out. Not so for the HDP 50
Hey man! On the HDR50 (and only the Hdr50) you must have the restrictor in place.
By the power kit from the company from Germany.
They aren’t even necessary anymore. This was more a warning for folks that might fall into that trap.
Lancer Now has their own version of the TRP 35 joules out the box it looks like an FSC but without the regulator at sub 200 dollers

Hi Jon, always nice to see you. great video. question, what was the power setting on ( Allen key adjustment ) set on. did you have the power turned all the way up ? or can you still adjust the power higher and get more velocity.
Hey brother, no it wasn’t. This is out of the box testing right off the bat. I want people to see exactly what they’re going to get if they just take the launcher as it comes and fire it. However, in subsequent videos, you’d better believe I will :-)
@@AlternateArmsSD so you can still dial up the power setting up more, that is cool. you should do another video with it at the full setting. I gotta go on your site and get some modified mags for my PPQ and M&P with the quick pierce nob. so you will be hearing from me. look forward to the next video and hope you tell us what Mercury Rise is working on, I am hoping it is a new MUB43 with the modifications I mentioned.

I like it but don't think I'll be getting one at least not for the $555 there asking right now besides I already own a TCP, FSC, salt S2 and the list go's on maybe later if the price go's down also I'd like to know more about it like voracity how much power can be gotten out of it and what the mod community dose with it in the over tine but still a great video bro

@@AlternateArmsSD I first ran across the First Strike years a go. I think its been that long. I could not remember what the name of the First Strike is. After watching your video I put some effort into finding the the name.
How’s the penetration against the S2?
They are VERY close in terms of power with a slight edge going to the TRP since you can dial it up on the launcher.

You know it’s strange, typically I will post a direct Amazon affiliate link, but these are not even available on Amazon. This is just the first in a string of of many videos with this launcher as well.
So based off what I've seen.. salt s2 is the best for lower budget but got power... It out does byrna LE very consistently.. only thing that holds me back is it is bigger heavier and you got that bullshit knob
@@choule90 actually, it’s a little bit lighter than the Byrna. There are a couple of people that have already released a printed grip cover that conceals that puncture cap. I also also have another idea about it, but I haven’t had the time to test it. However, you are correct, for price versus value. It’s real hard to beat the salt supply.
@@AlternateArmsSD i can't lie doing research is hard on this.. for a while I was under the impression the LE came standard with 7 rounds... Nope it's 5...
@@choule90 Well………/ They actually DID but they were having feeding issues with the 7 round so they went back to the 5. I think they are close to correcting the issues through.

if i had to dish out real firearm prices , i would give 555 dollars for this pepperball TRP way way way way way way way way ,,,, x's a million ,,,,,, before i would spend up to 500 dollars for the over PRICED and rated byrna STILL !!!
trigger ? you should see the awesome work i do to the way more affordable HDP.50 or the HDR.68 , not to mention 38 to 43 joules i end up getting from still just 12 gram co2's ... !!!
take apart all you internals and file, deburr , sand , fit and polish them all to a mirror finish lol , just like the gunsmiths and techs do in real firearm factories before the firearms are sent out to the public .
a while back i went to a river to shoot for distance and accuracy , i brought my X-RADAR and my LASER RANGE-FINDER and my best umarex hdp.50 pushing right at 43 joules sent a 8.39 gram 7.65 mm steel ball 97 yards before dropping , now for a 100 dollar hdp.50 and around another 150 dollars in parts i would say this is amazing, so around 250 dollars and a week or two of my time i have a very dependable launcher i can guarantee almost for life provided they are well taken care of !!! .
NOW LETS TALK ABOUT THE PRO POWER KITS ON AMAZON . a COUPLE of years ago , my first buy to upgrade my first hdp.50 was that and the all aluminum tuning barrel combo for 80 dollars .!!!
same thing happened to me , that cute little stainless steel firing pin didnt screw in all the way and was slightly slanted , it destroyed the valve exhaust tube and heat core oring within days of testing i still have the tuning barrel and bent firing pin just to show people why i spend 40 to 60 dollars in shipping to get parts super fast from Germany from HOME DEFENCE - 24 now only , i prefer his firing pins and steel tuning barrels and extensions to anything else .
forgive the semi - long rant my brother , lol , i guess by now you expect nothing less , i really enjoyed the review , testing and video my awesome friend !!! .
