I own the .43 cal Glock 17 Gen 5 version, I use .43 cal steel rounds. Unfortunately I had to use it on someone in self defense as well as in defense of my brother. The attacker had a good amount of blood and open wounds from a CO2 pistol. I admit, I was surprised. I wasn't expecting my first time shooting it to be for defending my brother or myself, I wanted my first time to be shooting at an old TV or an old abandoned car.

I just bought one and I have been tinkering with the rubber over steel. Not impressed to save my life nah, I am ordering the PVC over steel and the aluminum. I am told it will crack a skull. But Idk I think just the show of it will help in 90% of cases the 10% I may run like a girl.
Did u used rubber balls or pvc balls. I do have the pvc balls but I doubt that u guys used those because they r way more painful than those pepper balls

There is a video of a guy changing the spring inside the magazine to a much lighter spring. This is so that the canister uses more co2 per shot. Some said this improved FPS, some said it did not. I'm going to test it when I get it.

However, if you have a pistol in your hand, would you run toward the other person to attack?... It is the same as your brother-in-law running toward you to defend A more realistic scenario was you with a knife in hand running towards him...... In a real attack mode, you would have charged the other person no matter what (not turn around)... especially that close... Air pistols and pepper balls have their space and time for use. It is the only protection I carry on me... If someone else has a gun or anything that looks like a gun I would first look for shelter and then fight back. If no shelter is available fight back is the only option...
Those are some nasty wounds from a 5 joule paintball gun. I can only imagine how much the 11-20 joule .50 cal version (Umarex HDP) would feel. Very glad he didn't hit you in the face, that would not have been nice.
It did hurt a bit, the chock stung like hell, but it was the pepper, won't say the real name of them that took me down. I'm not a real big guy, but those rounds are definitely home defence capable.
I live in Europe (the Czech Republic) and own the 11 joule version. Even firing it terrifies me. The first couple of shots make a pretty loud bang, and the rubber/steel composite balls can penetrate a baked bean can, leaving a gaping hole. I wouldn't like to be on the end of one of those if I were wearing just a T-shirt; though I think they would be ineffective against a thick winter coat. But, then, you can always aim for the face (ouch) or use pepper balls. Nasty stuff.

The gun came with the blue rubber balls, not sure what grain they are. Can tell you though, the chock and pepper hurt like hell. The shot to my arm is still healing.

Let’s all be honest owners here, these guns will absolutely NOT STOP A MOTIVATED ATTACKER… These can be used to create distance and a few precious seconds to escape and evade or turn the table on an unarmed attacker but you have better have a blade or steel collapsible baton or something similar…

If you had an edged weapon, you could have gutted him despite taking some painful hits- but if an assailant has a pistol as well, why would they charge? I appreciate you taking the hits for science, but I've seen motivated people take multiple rounds from real guns and keep on coming.
This gun packs a punch! It can kill if you shot at the right spot on a human. I've been shot from 40ft away and it took me to the ground crying and I'm 6 ft 5. Perfect for home defense
Co2 replicas do not stop those with intent or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. There is a reason for non leathal 'training for engagement', it's training for the use of lethal force. Please do not confuse the two, it will get people hurt. Please also do not randomly flag just about everything in your environment while chatting to camera, it shows incredibly poor SP and discipline. Agreed, except it is the .43 cal that doesn't stop agressors, not any co2 guns. All these .43 should not be used in a self defense context. For that purpose you should use .68 cal with a Tiberius t8.1, or a tippman Tipx, or a Umarex HDX for example. I woudn't consider using anything under 15 joules for self defense. My T9.1 can go up to 40j, but that becomes somewhat less "less lethal" at that power

I use my as a less lethal option in the bail bonds industry. Works like magic to get someone to comply so we can cuff them.

What projectile were you using in the ppq for the video please? Composition and weight?
We were using 43 cal 6.8 grain chock, and Pava Fire Head Pepper balls 7 Grain. Thank you for your comment.

Yes. It comes with one spring for paintballs and pepperballs so they don't break and a strong spring for rubber balls

The other rounds were plain chock. Brother the PPQ M2 is no joke, it hurt like hello. I was down a good 10 minutes.
