    Please follow zF instructions to check the temperature of transmission oil , go through all gears and top up as required . Else you might be over/ underfilling which is bad..Also as per ZF change only required @ 80- 100k..rest is all informative..good video

    totally in wrong order tightened, and it has to be 10nm

    • @arandkay
      @arandkay 5 лет назад +2

      They definitively did it on the wrong order, but tightening torque may vary.
      As per repair manual, if they are steel screws it is 10Nm, if they are made of aluminum it is 4Nm+45 angle torque. For the same transmission there are some kits with aluminum and others with steel screws. Although it seems that now all ZF kits ship with steel screws and gasket already on the pan.

    Then what about the used oil in the transmission,? Some amount of oil was in the torque converter and other place of transmission.

    Is it enough to just screw that bottom plug off, drain oil out, close it, and fill from the upper one till it bleeds? My f20 116i has 131tkm on it and from what I know it never been changed. Works perfectly imo.
    Is there a risk of clutch slipping after such a long oil change interval? There's still like 50% of old oil after this so that shouldn't be an issue? I'm NOT flushing it by any means, just change.

      @@jigga594 Specific order of slacking / tightening bolts not followed. This is to prevent warping which will create an imperfect seal and leak oil slowly over the space of a few months, resulting in gearbox failure.
      Wrong amount of oil means potential oil starvation when making sharp turns.
      Didn't cycle the gear selection correctly before and after, meaning oil contaminated oil still in the torque converter and gears.

      @@jigga594 Happy to help. Gasket is a one time use only, so really should be replaced whenever removed. They're inexpensive and you'll kick yourself if you do the job and later have to revisit it again due to a bad gasket seal.
      There's quite a few stories of gasket failures causing headaches for DIY'ers so better safe than sorry ;)
