What Lives Below is a kaiju hunting game where you set out on the open ocean in a very small boat to slay the biggest sea monsters you can find. This is just the demo, but it's insanely well done so far. Maybe more monsters to come in the future?

About the music:
So during editing I did a final pass for the custom music, lowering it by 3dB after mixing it. After release I noticed it was kinda loud, went back and checked and the adjustment was on the wrong final track, which had no sound on it. So it's 3db too loud. My bad.

This needs to be a full AAA game but with a giant awesome pirate ship with cannons and harpoons! I like the little jaws boat though it really puts in perspective how big they are.

They should actually invest in making this game bigger. The thought of a multiplayer where four guys hunt down huuuuge mythical kaijus in the ocean on a boat seems baddass and also scary at the same time.
Yeah, maybe also add new weapons, new boat types. Like maybe a big boat which can take more damage but it’s slower, and a small boat that’s super fast but has not that much health. And the new weapons could do more damage or do poison damage
even with just 2 would be awesome just imaging the driver and the attacker, fighting and dodging for their lives would be awesome

Exactly my point IGP sees Cthulhu everywere and that is the only thing I don't like about IGP when he plays game that have nothing to do with H.P. Lovecraftian culture he will still find a way to talk about cthulhu sure you can love what lovecraft did but why do you have to see it everywere like he saw it in Doom bruh

I really hope this gets a multiplayer mode (hopefully with a bigger ship).
Just imagine the realism of 2-4 people screaming at each other while hunting sea monsters in a storm
I 100% love the fact that the music not only compliments the gameplay and scenarios, but the fact IG Peterson sounds quieter than the song *but still intelligible* makes the experience a lot more pleasing.

That Line " We are no longer chasing the titans, they are chasing us" Is one of the most epic lines I have heard that are rarely in movies, and that background music and how u said it. The line alone deserves an oscar award.
This game is like the scene in Pacific Rim where Gypsy Danger is trying to protect the crabbing boat from the Kaiju.
It's a pretty awesome line but something about it feels kinda cliched too.

yeah, they should really change the whole repairing system though, looking at the engine constantly in a battle doesn't seem fun, also if it was to get multiplayer support, one person could just constantly keep the health at max.

The devs should seriously contact Eoin Mantell, and request to use the music for this initial first boss. After watching the same bossfight from other youtubers, IGP's custom adding that theme makes it MUUUUUUUCH better of an experience to watch.
Also anyone wondering to the specific song IGP is using, it's Heroica by Eoin Mantell.

hard to believe this is free, great game idea. this guy needs to expand this out and he could really have a money maker on his hands. some boat/weapon upgrades to buy, a small fishing village hub to walk around and buy things at, notice board with different missions like hunts or to even find missing people, and it'd be really cool if when you killed a massive boss you could use its body to craft new equipment like monster hunter. really cool though

IGP I just want to let you know that I was there from one of your first videos and I kinda took a break from this Chanel but coming back to see you better than ever is so enlightening so I just wanted you to know that.

The fact that the creatures are ACTUALLY moving under the water makes my fear of the ocean so much worse!

This would be really fun as a larger co-op style game. Someone is driving the ship, two people are harpooning, one person is setting traps, repairing and reloading harpoon ammunition for the others. Maybe there's some type of loot system where if you hit the monster in crit areas it drops meat or teeth or something in the water and your team has to drive/sail over and use another type of tool on the ship to reel it in, like a net. That would be amazing. Maybe you could eventually save up cash and buy diving gear and set traps and mines in the water, or types of lures for different monsters.

You are so excited and I really loved the energy while you are recording this video. :) The game is all good but the little concern that all I have is about the supposed BIGGER splash or waves that a collosal creature should have made everytime it enters that certain point of body of water. That will make it harder for the wannabe hunters if there will be coop for this masterpiece. Great job for this video though :) :)
