Probably the best demo on the SC-28e I’ve seen. Beautiful emphasis on the tech aspects and demo of the aural characteristics. I wish there was one on the SC-18e thought as that’s the one I’m considering.
Beautiful playing! Beautiful guitar! i’ve already decided on the sc. just can’t decide between 18, or 28. Also i would change the strings. What do you use?
@@JacquesStotzem What did you think of the SC-18e, M. Stotzen? Why would one go with Rosewood instead of Mahogany? Is chordal play and line play superior with one over the other?
@@otismanousakos3946 for my style of playing I prefer the rosewood model, I have always prefered rosewoood guitars for fingerstyle. It's of course a matter of taste, not a matter of quality of sound, it's just 2 different worlds
This song and playing was so wonderfully musical and sweet. Well done. Thank you for sharing your talent. Was that really. an SC-28E? It doesn't look like one.
I have been waiting for Martin to make a version of this guitar with solid tone woods. I like the innovations in the body design. But it's more expensive than a OM-28. Does it sound better than an OM-28?
Hi @@donaldklein8694, It sounds different because it's a completely different bodyshape. Sounding better is a 'personal understanding'. The best thing to do is go to your local music store and try the OM-28 next to the SC-28E, so you can hear the difference for your self! 🙂
@@donaldklein8694 I played for many years my OM signature model and the new SC28E sounds of course different as the body shape is different, but I really love the way the SC28 sounds, to me it sounds more open compared to the OM, somewhere between OM and M model. The feel of the new neck (low profile velocity) is really incredible, I never have had a guitar that is so easy to play and the access to the register is so great !
More or less, we didn't change the action or intonation or anything on the guitar. Jacques plays with a lighter string gauge, the only thing we did was change the strings for a lighter gauge.

Thank you !

Thanks for your comment ! I use the Martin "Authentic Acoustic" strings 80/20 extra-light

Good idea :)

Thanks for your comment ! Yes it is an SC28E, on the video, I just have ebony bridge pins that I put on the guitar
@@JacquesStotzem Magnificent playing sir! The ebony bridge pins add a nice touch. Thank you for the reply and the great demonstration.
@@gair1944my pleasure !
Are we hearing a mix of live mic and direct? Would love to hear it without the direct added.
Really great playing. Can a collaboration with Tommy Emmanuel be in the near future?
Thanks for your comment and I would be very pleased of a collaboration with Tommy, but nothing is planned !
I just wondered if the back and sides are solid Indian Rosewood? Sounds good though.
Hi Michael!
Yes, back and sides of this SC-28E are solid Rosewood.
On the SC-18E they are solid Mahogany.

Is this guitar straight out of the box from the Martin factory?

1:39 you know you were about to go into welcome home (sanitarium) right there. Don't try to play it cool 😏
