    • @voteZDLR
      @voteZDLR 5 лет назад +3

      I can understand their frustration though. Not in the sense they'd get so violently angry they'd be like willing to throw drinks or ice at somebody, or anything worse than that either. The Cubs at that point hadn't won the World Series since 1908. It took them over ONE HUNDRED YEARS to actually finally win the damn thing. Only to get close a few times and then have it be taken from you not by one of your players, not by one of the other team's players, but by one of your own fans.

    • @NateMegOfficial
      @NateMegOfficial 5 лет назад +3

      True. But they’ve been there and there are still other teams-my Rangers for one-that have only been close a couple times. Other fanbases are frustrated too but Cubs fans act like their losses matter more. They don’t.
      I’m not necessarily arguing with you BTW. More just annoyed with Cubs fans thinking they’re the only ones that matter.

    • @voteZDLR
      @voteZDLR 5 лет назад +1

      @@NateMegOfficial I think because Baseball is basically the oldest professional American sport the other half of the equation is it's more noticeable the longer your organization has been in existence while still going so long with having championships stolen from you or lost for stupid reasons. I am not arguing with you either just playing Devil's advocate for the Cubs there, I am not necessarily even a Chicago sports fan but I was excited to see them win that World Series game a long time ago.

      @@NateMegOfficial I am so neutral on baseball I don't even have a team but I do follow some baseball and yeah the Rangers are cool. I'm an idiot, I heard Rangers and immediately thought you were talking about Hockey (New York Rangers) for some reason. At any rate, it's wild to think that professional baseball has been around in some form as long as it has. And likewise yeah all the major cities who were around to get teams first, it's just wild to think like people in Chicago in some cases literally waited an entire modern lifetime just to see them actually win the damn thing. Like that 90 year old woman or man I forget, that's how old the league is.

    My educated guess would be that due to copyright issues associated with airing some of the stock footage Allen uses Bill doesn't want certain videos on his channel. This minimizes the risk of Bill being sued for infringement as the content on his channel is produced for profit and therefore application of certain "Fair Use" laws wouldn't hold up in court. Welcome back Allen.

    I watched this game live on TV, and I was pulling for the Cubs to win. While Steve Hartman’s interference prevented an out, it did not entirely cause the Cubs to lose that game. I believe that the true cause of the Cubs’ loss was due to a combination of the team’s anger & frustration combined with the Marlins’ talent. As the Cubs’ lost momentum, the Marlins’ hitters capitalized on this, eventually scoring more runs and winning the game. For the rest of the game after that unfortunate incident, Steve Bartman received loud, angry threats from other Cubs fans. The vitriol became menacing to the point where Bartman had to be escorted out of Wrigley Field by security. Even worse, is that he continued to be harassed (even receiving death threats) long after the incident had transpired. I remember thinking: “Steve Bartman’s life will never be the same - all over his botched attempt to catch a foul ball.” People take sports way too seriously. Not just Americans, but really, many people on every continent.
