I gotta say this is one of my favorite episodes. I’m 62… On my seventh business which happens to be a sass company and I am bumping up and against so many limitations. I’ve been successful in my career but now I’m being tested on another level. Thanks for the mental nudge. You guys are 100% on my favorite business podcasts right now. Keep it coming… we’re listening. :-)
Sorry guys, but you missed on this one. Intensity doesn't mean lying to TSA to get ahead of honest people waiting in line. Intensity does indeed mean having composure and the mind set to win the right way every time. If you have to cheat to find that way, it's called being a loser.
I agree about lying, but According to Arnold Schwarzenegger, you have to break rules to be successful. There are so many rules nowadays that if you tried to follow them all and not offend anybody, you will get nowhere in this life.
I’m training for an Ironman right now and not even arguably, I AM, eating worse. Just a calorie addict. Fruit roll ups? Yes. Cookie? Yes. But, I’m properly ripped. This IS TRUTH.
39:12 my biggest thing holding me back. My excuse to wait for a better financial “situation” to invest in what I’ve been wanting for the last few years..which is to: Build and grow e-commerce Brands (and eventually form a company of intelligent and creative ppl to come up with ideas for inventions and grow those into multi billion $ brands) My limitation: fear of losing money based on past mistakes I’ve made that caused me to lose it all again. Also, the fear of not having the ability to create cash flow without working a regular job that I hate.
This Shaan story cold calling a star chef and saying « I need to talk to X, how do I make it happen? » reminds me of Steve Job’s sugar water story with John Sculley. People, including me, remember the quote, but before this pod I realize I missed the most important part of it: the intensity.
That was quite interesting. The diamonds in movies promotion is very similar to the cigarettes in movies idea that was shown in the movie Thank You For Smoking (they might have got it from the diamonds case study). The cigarette industry is facing regulatory pressure and bad press. So this guy, a lobbyist for the industry, proposes paying hollywood producer to make cigarettes look cool.
It's funny how all men immediately say "diamonds are a scam" when they find out, but almost all women immediately say "no, lab diamonds are not real". That proves it's only a symbol to women. It would be very easy for someone else to create the next "wedding symbol of love" by using the same marketing strategy with a different product. The only reason women insist on diamonds is because there's no alternative symbol with the same marketing.
I've been binge watching your podcast for the past few days and I hate seeing the pod being released a day in advance of the RUclips video. I think seeing you guys talk makes the experience much better, but it takes a lot of willpower to not listen to the podcast episode when it comes out.
Haha I've listened to the pod forever. This is my first time watching the vid though. I can't help but think these guys are "made for audio". Great speakers, but I feel an awkwardness when watching that I don't pick up on when listening
Second this. I wait for the RUclips videos everytime. You guys should upload at the same time. Would definitely help grow your RUclips channel at the same time.

That little “thank you very much” and that little laugh at the end! Made Shaan and my day. 😊
“How do we make that happen” love it . I’m gonna use that
The burning desire is critical, as well as clarity.
I am fired up after watching this! Excellent examples
