Funny how for a podcast that's called My First Million, it took 377 episodes for Shaan to talk about how exactly he made his first million haha. Great episode. Laughed more during this 'hangout vibe' more than any other episode.
Love your show guys! The podcast is great, but watching you guys interact is the best. Shaan's personality is contagious, always in a happy mood. Sam is great as well and keeps the podcast interesting. You guys are inspiring to try e-commerce again after failing the first time. Thank you so much!
I assumed that Shaan dropped out of a no-name university or something or didn’t even go. He ditched everything, sat alone in some small apartment and (as a bootstrapped founder) he built a business that made him his first million. He impressed a mentor that was halfway to a billion. Worked under that mentor. Lead one of the mentor’s project. Mentor’s company was acquired. He got a huge payout. Now he uses the financial safety, connections and freedom from that to build other businesses. One of the legendary investors advocates for joining a rocketship company early on in one’s career (as opposed to being a founder from the get-go). Shaan seems to have followed that template. In a country where there aren’t many rocketships, the template’s a lot trickier.
Shaan, Sam, it ISSSS SOOO easy to get hooked on your stories and insight because they comes from an intimate POV ) at a ground level )that is absolutely relatable for the 90% :) - very different than your lofty VC talk show.
Hey! How can i find the chapter of Sam’s story? I’m a recently new listener and i’d appreciate if you guys can put the links of the other chapters that you refer to in the description 😊. Thanks, from Argentina ❤
great episode shaan keep doing what you doing. does anyone in the comments know of that "Su Li" person profile that they mentioned? curious of that person
How does one read essays? Seems a lil sketchy, are they meant to be purchased? Ive never read one, honestly get most of my info through content like this. I'd love to get to the source though. Fantastic video, i have just discovered you and love the banter and information, can't stop watching 🍻🤘🏻
I genuinely think that u guys are just getting into your own. This podcast will eventually become THE JRE of Internet startups, company building & hustlers worldwide 🌍 keep up the great work boys 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man I really appreciated this episode. Sam's questions on happiness of the Bebo guy vs Shaan was interesting. Also hearing Shaan's perspective on his first jobs and then a big win, etc. I've been doing well in SF but looking for next adventure, win, and etc, but want to stay and feel level across that journey. Wisdom here.
THIS QUALITY IS SMALL-BOY STUFF. You guys need to figure out this camera stuff. If you don't already know this, your RUclips channel will become WAY bigger than the podcast.
To everyone who has started or is thinking of starting their own business: *Believe in yourself and never give up.* If you can work 8 hours for someone else. You can work 2 hours for yourself.
"50 is a random number, maybe we should start there" I think was a great question but Sam just threw it away without actually thinking about it... I'd love for you 2 to actually discuss your "enough" numbers each, and more importantly WHY do you want that number, picking out a random number like 50m for no other reason other than "it sounds nice" is dumb, if you're expenses are 250k a year tops, then 50m is way too high or a target...
Love the thing about a hiring engineers is the equivalent to collecting old cars for the nerd billionaire. Like I can totally see myself doing that. hahaha

Why is Shaan 1080p and Sam in 244p ?😂😂
I thought I was the only observer.
Sam is interviewing from the year 1985
They zoomed into his face on a 1080p video..to frame it better.
its 2 different videos stitched together
@@T_Smokebest comment hahaha
Great episode! I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Though for a pod with "million" in the name it should at least be in 1080p 😆
it's a podcast, it isn't supposed to have video at all. You ungrateful smallboy. :D
I love how the 24 year old Shaan looks like he’s a 45 year old politician
can't agree more

Wing flavored chicken nuggets are for the intellectually superior individuals, Sam obviously wouldn't understand 😉
💎 Thanks for sharing!
No small boy stuff here

What was the podcast number about Sam Parr's backstory?

Can someone please share the link for the episode with Sam's backstory?
The wing stuff at 20 minutes made me laugh so hard.
