Hi Mike from Florida. I’ve been seeing my urologist since 2013 PSA jumped from 1.6 to about 3.0 in 2013 Jada biopsy was negative. Over the next 8 years it dropped to 2.6 and between 3.5. Then around 2021 it was 5.0 had a MRI didn’t show cancer had a biopsy urologist took 24 samples found low grade cancer. pSA every 3 months was 5.5 , dropped to 4.46 and in 2024 January PSA jumped to 8.55 . Told my urologist I was sick for ten days with flu. And took PSA wonder if being sick raised my PSA. Urologist gave me antibiotics to take for two weeks Incase I had a urine infection do to flu. I have another week to finish antibiotics and will take PSA Feb 62024. I’ve been trying to eat right I walk 2 miles a day very active. I’m 66 years old. Again I do have low grade cancer since 2021. If PSA comes back at 8.55 or higher looking at MRI and my third Biopsy. My grandfather did pass away from prostate cancer. He was 84. Any advice. I feel I have an excellent urologist. I did ask him about diet he mentioned Mediterranean diet. I’ve read like 5 books on prostate what to eat. Thank you for your time and videos
Hi Mike, apologies with the delay in replying. How are you? You are definitely on the right path with the clean diet and walking more. I would definitely recommend a Mediterranean diet of mostly plants, fish, lean meat, and with very little fat and oil, and removing sugar, alcohol, and dairy. Eat a lot of tomatoes and tomato paste for the lycopene. Walk more, if possible count your steps and aim to do between 10,000-15,000 a day. Start with those, they will have a massive effect in decreasing PSA and bringing the cancer under control and possibly remission. There are more things you can do but start with those now. Good luck
Hi I appreciate your reply. My PSA dropped from 8.55 to 7.43. Taken my blood test this Friday 4/26/24. Third biopsy sometime by in May. To see if my cancer is still low grade?
Hi Mike, thanks for the update. The drop in PSA is very positive. Looking forward to hear about the new PSA results when you know them and the biopsy, his luck with those. Remember, anything that comes up can be managed and improved upon. Talk soon
Thanks for this info, as I've said before to you My PSA started Doubling every month which was quite scary. I started taking low-sugar ketchup off a dessert spoon 2 x 2 per day approx 90g per day. The next month I had another PSA test and my PSA had stabilised. I've since increased the dose to approx 120g per day. Unfortunately, I have no more results as my oncologist wanted me to start androgen deprivation therapy which has reduced my PSA to undetectable levels. Hopefully, this will stop it from returning although I have to put up with the side effects of the ADT. Ketchup off a spoon is easy and convenient to take.
Thanks for sharing your experience, @jys160! It's quite a journey you're on with your PSA levels. Your creative use of low-sugar ketchup is interesting - it's like finding your own secret ingredient in the kitchen of health! While ketchup might be part of your routine, remember, a balanced approach with exercise and nutrition can also be key players in your health team. Gentle exercises, like a daily walk or light stretching, can be as beneficial as finding the perfect seasoning for your favorite dish. And when it comes to food, think of variety as the spice of life - a little bit of everything keeps the meal interesting.
@@HealthierThroughProstateCancer Thanks for your reply. Yes I have altered my diet to a more plant based diet with lots of cruciferous vegetables and exercise.

Got a PSA value of 6.1 twice 14 days apart. It took six months before I got an MRI, MRI also on the kidneys and ureters and an ocular inspection of the bladder. "The prostate is soft and fine on rectal examination but enlarged" The urologist said that nothing more needed to be done? Everything was ok???! I am 65 years old. He meant that the PSA was only slightly elevated for a man my age? I just feel empty after the answer
Hi Roger thanks for sharing your results. What your urologist meant is that you may but necessary have a malignant cancer but a benign enlargement of the prostate. That happens with age and it can be managed and the prostate reduced in size with the right diet and exercise. Good luck!

November 22 my psa rose to 10.9 ,it was 11.1 in july 2023 just before my second biopsy , this biopsy was 13 cores of which only 3 came back positive one had 5% the other 2 had only 1% which was a big reduction from the first one but still gleason 6 now my latest psa is 12.6 . I have been taking various herbs mushrooms etc, my concern is the psa levels , i had it going downwards before any biopsy and this is why i dont really trust these biopsies , Dec 28th is my next hosp[ital appointment
MRI resolution starts only beyond a cluster, greater than 1 Mio cells ! This is too much and too late for the first detection of a tumor. Rather demand from your Urologist the genetic analysis of your tumor cells. That will be much more significat for the malignity and laethability than the morphologic „Gleason“ score. Instead of „watchful waiting“ for the worsening, you could start asap with tumor specified oncology, as Theranostic.
Testosteron insensitive tumors or tumors that produce their own testosteron for growth are the crucial test of efficiency of your lycopen / sugar assumption.
Thank you for bringing up such an insightful point, @bell1095! You're spot on! Increasing lycopene and reducing sugar has done wonders for the men I've worked with. Eating the right foods and tweaking our daily habits can make a surprising difference.

The problem with tomatoes is that they contain lectins that many of us cannot tolerate. Investigation now in Sweden of high levels of various toxins in tomatoes, tomato puree, crushed tomatoes and ketchup. Even the organic ones
Thanks for your question, @MyFrank71! You've touched on a topic that's on the minds of many. It's a bit like wondering if opening the hood of a car might affect the engine. In the case of prostate biopsies, most experts believe that the risk of spreading cancer through a biopsy is very low.

@@charlesgair8608 Great to hear Charles! There is a lot to do in terms of nutrition and exercise to keep the cancer from coming back! Also, did you have prostate surgery? If the cancer was confined in the prostate, why they did not just remove the prostate and they decided to do radiotherapy?
@ExerciseElixirPCa I Decided Not To Have A Radical Prostatetomy Because My PSA Was 4.5 And Had A Small Tumor Confined To My Prostate .I Just Really Believed That My Immune System And Some Radiation Would Kill The Cancer.Without Being Shot Up With That Poison Firmgon .Thank God I Was Right.
