Are used to have a friend group that I would study with often. All of us had straight A’s and were known for being top of the class. I learned over time that these people were extremely selfish and had little to no empathy towards others. I eventually left the friend group and now I find it easier to study alone.
Something that works for me is just talking with people. Even if you’re not having a conversation, something like asking for a pen or for help on a question. The more I talk with a person the more comfortable I feel around them, then if you’re comfortable around someone you can try having a conversation with them and if they like you then you have a friend.

This reminds me of an old friend of mine who quite literally changed the course of my life from one which was destined for depression to me being far happier than I could have ever dreamed. It’s time for a lore dump lol So, around the time of COVID, I had to stop talking to most of my friends and slowly drifted apart from them until in 7th grade I only had one friend who I could rely on. Later that year, my house burnt down along with a bunch of other bad events in my life. However, someone walked ip to my in class and basically said “hey man, from what i understand youve been having hard times recently. wanna be friends?“ and he quickly became the best friend I have ever had. Then he introduced me to some of his other friends, who I by extent also befriended. Eventually, that helped me build up the confidence for me to make dozens of friends on my own and even reunite with some of my friends from before COVID. I went from somebody who nobody knew to someone who everyone knew due to him. Thanks, homie. And remember: no matter how bad things get, there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.
or maybe use the study together discord / website gives you the luxury of having people to study with, without really having to talk to people (unless you want to) which is a plus for me
