Wow quite the tear down to get the rails on. It worked out well for you. I was considering doing this to my 2018 Tucson. I think I will pass on that now but good to know it is possible......Take care, Bluefin.
love the video! I was looking at a company called spider roof rack and they have an overland roof rack I want to install but requires drilling so thanks for all the helpful info!
Great video! Not sure I will be adding the rails, but not a difficult as expected; just some time in removing the headliner. Unrelated to your install, where did you get your black side door panels on the exterior?
Yeah, not too bad a job. Just gotta put in the time. The panels are the door garnish kit, and the Fender flair kit. There's a video on them. With links in the description if you want to install them on your SC. It's not to bad a job either.
Mmm. Sounds like a cross bar problem. Not a rail problem, if possible I would return the cross bars If possible, I would returne the cross bars you got and exchange them for the once *linked in the video description. If your committed you these cross bars you definitely could make a hole but you won't not be able to ajust the bars. The are fixed to that location.
I am looking to buy the same vehicle this week. I believe I would drill through the roof and cut a hole in the headliner. Cover the holes with plastic buttons. This might reduce the project time.
Nice upgrade. Looks like lot of work . Cant u have the dealership installed them yet or no? Seen some thing are optional . Active pack sound cool but extra 4k to price for not munch add. Know off road xrt option may be better
That's crazy!!! I just got one of these and didn't want to pay extra for the activity package just to take off the bulky bed cover. I knew it would be a big job but thought I could fork out some money for the professionals to install it. I may have to wait, I don't know if I trust my handy skills this much quite yet. Thanks for your content, very helpful.
More than any thing it's just time consuming, and you'll save a bunch of money doing it your self. Im sure if you get a friend and follow along the video you'll accomplish it! But it's a big job so I can understand having some one else step in too! Cheers.
That is my precise situation and will not dare to do this ! Can not believe Hyundai made a distinction from one model to the other concerning this area of the vehicle ! Water leaks will probably be the issue here!
Bro, you have been using this machine for quite a long time, can you share your impressions about it? What do you like about her and what annoys you about her? And the overall feeling of this car 🤝🏾🖐🏽
Honestly it's been pretty good to me, I can't get over the lack of power unfortunately. But after hearing about all the trouble with the Turbo and Dual Clutch Trans, I'm glad I have this version. It's and extremely comfortable ride. Even modded out. Although it's one of the most annoying things I've had to work on lol. Off road wise. It will meet the minimum acceptable limits. I think my subaru could do better. I'm not afraid to break that one.
That’s crazy amount of prep work. Amazing video editing.
Jake you are a madman! Looking forward to the next video.

This was awesome! Definitely still nerve racking because of all the pre work before you can actually mount the rails

I am going to be doing the same thing to my 24
Outstanding video! What a ton of work
Wonder if a nutsert would allow you to do it without removing the headliner
I think it would though I'm not sure how well it would hold up. Plus. Dropping the head liner let's your see the exact reinforcement points

Hi would you know if its safe to make hole on roof rails? I bought some roof bar looks like clamp has hole but roof rail doesn't seem to have any hole

Just be careful not to hit the air bag!
Where do I get the side rails from I can’t find it and I just need it for the LED light bar thing !!!
The part numbers are In the video description
I have that same model and I was wondering if the wiring harness is the same for all models or there is like in this case, a difference among them ?
For the most part I belive they are the same, subtle changes between the extra features like the sunroof.

No unfortunately at this point dealers won't install them. Only ordered already installed from the factory

Whatttt. Thank you for doing this because I have a 23 Santa Cruz se and I want to do the same
Happy to help!

The factory roof rails used butyl tape and 3m tape to keep the water out. So far no water issues on mine!

I'll do an in depth video about everything down the road.
@AdventureGT thanks brother, it will be interesting to watch 🖐🏽🤝🏾
I don’t see a sense removing the seat to install the side rail , and Hyundai should made this more easily.
