This movie is a great example of Vijay breaking out of his typical movies. Him as Parthi was just *chef's kiss*. I watched your review on Vikram and you said that vijay could never do movies like vikram but this movie is a clear example that he can. I have never seen vijay be so ruthless and his eyes and emotions was vera level, especially when choking the police officer. In my opinion I enjoyed both first and second half, only wish the backstory could have been done better and that the character of Leo was not a typical thalapathy character. With the way the villains described leo to be ruthless I did not really feel it. Parthi was more ruthless. However, at the time of writing this a lot of people have been saying his past is fake story told by mansoor and apparently lokesh even confirmed it. We will need to wait and see. A lot of people say its forced into LCU, I think it will only be forced if his past story turns out to be true. Either way good reviews or bad reviews, we cant say anything bad about our thalapathy's acting. He rocked it and he proved his potential. Sadly I dont think we will be seeing this version of thalapathy again soon, T68 already looks like a typical thalapathy movie. This is coming from a thalapathy fan as well.
I have an opinion about the ruthlessness of Leo's character. Parthipan being ruthless is the same as leo being ruthless but the dip went exactly as you said in the flashback because it didn't match the kick given in first half:(
Never liked vijay as an actor, but this movie changed my perception. He needed someone like lokesh to bring his real potential as an actor. This time lokesh didn't surrender to fan service of vijay, last time with master he had lost his personal touch, but this time he was determined to make it his own film.

I believe this is the best Vijay performance in recent times. Fights were awesome. 2nd half could have been a bit better but I loved the movie. I expected a bit more. Could have have been better if Sanjay Dutt would have been kept for 2nd movie
No I felt Sanjay dutt so weak powerless in the movie that will not give audience much hype for Sanjay dutt as villian in leo 2 but Harold das should have been survived.

Leo is the movie where both hero & Villain is in one self. An emotional battle between them. Parthipan always tries to keep leo within himself, but there comes triggers to expel the devil in him. Psychopath & cafe scene, police officer who refuses to give protection and then Harold & Antony das, all are triggers compelling parthipan to expel leo outside. The frustrations at those moments are evident. പാർഥിപൻ എന്ന തന്റെ ഐഡന്റിറ്റി മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും ലിയോ കൊല്ലുന്നു. It is an anti-hero movie or Villain based movie and the devil is 'Leo' himself. -Parthipan is just a cover up.Whenever someone tries to know about his identity, he gets killed. He is on a killing spree. He replaces his gun shots with right hand. -Triggers. Hears about gunshot in himalaya. Cafe scene-Chocolate coffee. He gets killed instantly. Leo comes out. Asking protection at police station. Frustrated holding on police officer. Market place roaring in frustration at wife. Antony & Harold trying to identity gets killed in no time. Sets traps at home & subramani, same violent as his as friend. He only admits he is leo to only two person, that too before their death. Harold & Antony never tried to kill Leo, they are just superstitious & greedy & wants to bring back parthipan as leo to build their family empire. Whoever tries to reveal his identity gets killed. He is so selfish that, he will go to any extend to keep his parthipan life. And we know, who is the next one calling leo. -Either agent vikram vs leo face off or, vikram might left leo since he is leading family life for last 20 years with a diff identity. He kept eyes on him through his agents. When he understood leo has come out from Parthipan, Vikram either wants him to join his squad or a face off.So definitely, lokesh has given only things needed. Even that 20 min flashback, the last day of leo. It is evident from Villain yaaru song, that the battle is between Parthipan × Leo💯.

Honest review 👍 positive and negative well explained Title card was mind-blowing 🔥🔥 The first half is so good well executed, gripping ended with a bang in the interval. Second half is the weakest screenplay from Lokesh. The well-built villains the build up all suffered from weak characterization, sister character miscast, and even LCU characters were forced into this in climax.
True....the entire movie got lost in the second half.....with a peak level interval to sluggish, underwhelming climax.... overall just average....that too due to the fine craftwork in the first half.... otherwise the film would have been a disaster

Lokesh Cinimatic Universe - LCU
This movie is a great example of Vijay breaking out of his typical movies. Him as Parthi was just *chef's kiss*. I watched your review on Vikram and you said that vijay could never do movies like vikram but this movie is a clear example that he can. I have never seen vijay be so ruthless and his eyes and emotions was vera level, especially when choking the police officer. In my opinion I enjoyed both first and second half, only wish the backstory could have been done better and that the character of Leo was not a typical thalapathy character. With the way the villains described leo to be ruthless I did not really feel it. Parthi was more ruthless. However, at the time of writing this a lot of people have been saying his past is fake story told by mansoor and apparently lokesh even confirmed it. We will need to wait and see. A lot of people say its forced into LCU, I think it will only be forced if his past story turns out to be true. Either way good reviews or bad reviews, we cant say anything bad about our thalapathy's acting. He rocked it and he proved his potential. Sadly I dont think we will be seeing this version of thalapathy again soon, T68 already looks like a typical thalapathy movie. This is coming from a thalapathy fan as well.

Leo is the movie where both hero & Villain is in one self. An emotional battle between them. Parthipan always tries to keep leo within himself, but there comes triggers to expel the devil in him. Psychopath & cafe scene, police officer who refuses to give protection and then Harold & Antony das, all are triggers compelling parthipan to expel leo outside. The frustrations at those moments are evident.

Asking protection at police station. Frustrated holding on police officer.
Market place roaring in frustration at wife.
Antony & Harold trying to identity gets killed in no time. Sets traps at home & subramani, same violent as his as friend.
He only admits he is leo to only two person, that too before their death.
Harold & Antony never tried to kill Leo, they are just superstitious & greedy & wants to bring back parthipan as leo to build their family empire.
Whoever tries to reveal his identity gets killed. He is so selfish that, he will go to any extend to keep his parthipan life.
And we know, who is the next one calling leo.
-Either agent vikram vs leo face off or, vikram might left leo since he is leading family life for last 20 years with a diff identity. He kept eyes on him through his agents. When he understood leo has come out from Parthipan, Vikram either wants him to join his squad or a face off.So definitely, lokesh has given only things needed. Even that 20 min flashback, the last day of leo. It is evident from Villain yaaru song, that the battle is between Parthipan × Leo💯.

Title card was mind-blowing 🔥🔥 The first half is so good well executed, gripping ended with a bang in the interval.
Second half is the weakest screenplay from Lokesh. The well-built villains the build up all suffered from weak characterization, sister character miscast, and even LCU characters were forced into this in climax.
True....the entire movie got lost in the second half.....with a peak level interval to sluggish, underwhelming climax.... overall just average....that too due to the fine craftwork in the first half.... otherwise the film would have been a disaster
