Stunning modern music. Harmonies closer to Bill Evans or Paul Bley. Personal, reflective.
Devoid of cliche's or bravura. Tender, personal. Thanks for posting these masterpieces.

Did you notice the Christmas movement got dark, and the following and last movements even darker?
Hopes up, cast down. (This is wrong thinking )
You can't judge your worth by your gifts.
Don't judge yourself (or any other) by technical skills.

I think that was what he was saying, through perfect tone and dynamic balance.

How would you know Josef Suk's thinking and reasoning? You know his life story? He was pre occupied with death. Things and gifts for Christmas was the last thing on his mind. He couldn't care less, The death of his teacher and father-in-law Antonin Dvorak devastated him, not to mention later deaths of his wife and children. Axiomatic thinking I bet, like so many do nowadays. Thinking based on assumptions little on knowledge and facts.

@@bartjebartmans He married Dvorak's daughter? That explains everything. Everything. Thanks for the clarification.

I would really like to understand this brief conversation, but I can't, and I don't even know why
