- Hazeltons is the third solo album by Justin Vernon. The album was released in 2006. Hazeltons was recorded while Justin lived in Eau Claire, Wisconsin while playing in the band DeYarmond Edison. There were only one hundred copies of the album ever pressed, it remains one of his most rare and hardest to find releases.

This is the early version of Holocene, the demo if you'd prefer. This is my favourite version regardless
Sure. different key, but yeah. But they end up being 2 different songs which I think reflects how JV can manipulate 2 seemingly similar seeds of songs into 2 masterpieces

Don't let the fact that the beginning of Hazelton sounds like Holocene distract you from the fact that Liner sounds like Faith
They’ve said before they often revisit older recordings to see if they can fit into what they’re currently working on. It’s almost like remixing their (current bon Iver being more of a band than a solo project) own work, bands have been doing it forever. Nude by Radiohead was actually originally written in 1999, it just never fit on a record until in rainbows
Liner is my favorite song here by miles - and a better track than Faith in my opinion. I wish these would get formally released!
