Funny ... and I was just listening to some old Beatles ... interrupted it so I could check this out. Love you Jon!! You are a big part of my music loves!
I saw this show, and the one at Lakewood before. I also saw Yes without Jon at the House of Blues. I'll take Jon by himself any day of the week over Yes without Jon. He is a very charming man, by himself, telling stories and interacting with the crowd and seeing him by himself allows him to be in small, intimate venues where he's just a few feet from you. He also does his solo work, like Olias, and Jon and Vangelis songs! He comes out after and greets you! I highly recommend catching this show.
yes... it's painful compared to seeing him with a band. Jon is immensly talented of course - but he's no Dan Fogelburg, Phil Keaggy, Leo Kottke or Neil Young... some people just arent cut-out to stand alone on stage with their guitar. Jon without band = decent; Jon with band = AWESOME.
Jon is great and all - but how long is he going to do the one man show deal? He really really really needs a band to do justice to these songs - I mean they are his babies, and he can do whatever he wants - but come on Jon, get at least a guitarist so your great singing isn't backed by amature (YES: AMATURE) guitar playing.
Jon I need to see you one more time with Yes. Of course bring Rick with you! Love your music. By the way have seen you and Yes over 30 times
I saw Jon Anderson and Yes in 1978 then for their Union tour for a man @ 67 he sounds great.
