Yes Spanish guitarists are also technically great, and some electric rock guitarists can 'shred' in a technical way (I don't consider it musical but each to their own).

Just paid 2x more than any show in my 65 years in Charlottesville VA and I will tell you it was the best show I've ever seen. Worth every penny. I did get good seats and Tommy was beyond my greatest expectations BRAVO BRAVO! Play it again! Put Roanoke on tour Blacksburg Lime Kiln.
This guy inspired me to pick up and start learning the guitar. I'm pretty sure after a thousand hours of practice I will be able to hold the guitar just like Tommy. 😂

I know this isn't going to be of interest to anyone, but I practiced thumbpicking enough that I was finally able to combine it with a tremolo flawlessly this week, at about 20 nps.
He looks like unknown country dudes during the 1940s and 50s. They walk into bar (hole in wall) sing play for drinks. Filthy dirty from working in fields picking fruit. Buck Owen’s many others.
Well you know..I give props to Tommy for singing despite he isn't the best at it and I bet he knows it very well. So for the sake of not being always perfect in every aspect I give him a props for that. He just knows he has the groove, energy and vibe so he dares to sing and contribute to the whole point of performance. I'm not stoked about him singing too much either. :)
@ Meant no disrespect to his being a GOAT on guitar, but he’s like Roy Clark. He can outperform anyone on the instrument. But the singing is akin to nails on a chalkboard. Just an opinion. Not a statement of fact.
TE's vocals are a whole lot better than, say, Leo Kottke, for example. Love Leo's playing but for the voice... TE's not all that bad really, rather that than his "Drumming shtick" that he used to (??) incorporate in his sets. Hope he's dropped that crap!
