- Lisa Gade reviews the more affordable 5G LG Velvet Android 10 smartphone on AT&T. The $599 phone supports LG’s Dual Display, sold separately. Thanks to our sponsor, Keeper Security. Visit them here www.keepersecurity.com/person... and use our promo code MOBILETECH20 to save 20% on individual and family plans, and secure add-ons. The Velvet is also coming to T-Mobile and Verizon later this summer. The Velvet is a lovely new look for LG, and it has a 6.8” OLED display that supports Wacom AES pens (as does the Dual Display accessory). It has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G CPU, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, a microSD card slot and triple rear cameras. It competes with the Samsung Galaxy A71 and the OnePlus Nord.

The awesome thing is, that Lisa can speak in detail to anyone looking to buy a product, because she's a gamer, video editor, digital artist, photographer etc etc. Love these reviews for their thoroughness
She's been doing this for years she's a legend
ya i love her reviews, there's no bullshit in them.
So nobody is gonna comment on how awesome Lisa's backyard is?
Thank you!
U just did

Ok fine... great backyard, liked it specially d pool.... did an unboxing video for this one too.. no regrets!! Lile the phone!!
Hard to miss, great place to spend some alone-time ... or with that special someone.
This is the best channel for tech reviews! All the exact information that we need in a concise video. Thank you so very much!
LG phones having a headphone jack, they make me so happy.
First time I "Downgraded" as a Note series user. I aint buying a 1000+ phone without a headphone jack
@@doctorthee me neither the s10 is the last Samsung phone I'll ever buy
Every review I watch, I'm amazed at how simple and to-the-point these reviews are. No time is wasted, and nothing too subjective is forced in. It sounds so simple, but it's actually exceedingly rare from my experience.
what do you mean "no time wasted"? she literally waste 2 minutes of my time to speak about a shitty app. I couldn't watch it anymore. this channel is garbage!
great review. It's a little frustrating that a $600 phone is considered budget-mid range. It wasn't that long ago that $600 could get you a top of the line OnePlus.
Previous Top of the line oneplus was a budget flagship -introductory product. They cant keep up with xiaomi pricing thus bbk made realme which still hard keeping up with xiaomi.
Wait a little bit after July 31st when the extra $600 of unemployment expires and Americans take home roughly 1200 a month. This phone will be considered LUXURY.
100% of all LG phones are based entirely upon false advertising. Every LG phone I have ever used was so pathetically horrific, that, I realized LG's very involvement in the smartphone technology in and of itself is a total scam. I remember seeing so many advertisements of how spectacular their Q7+ phone was, and after buying it, the only thing it did was cause misery and trauma, because of how much of a piece of bullcrap it was. LG has no business being involved with smartphone technology, because, they have cut too many cheap corners, which has permanently slandered their own name.
@ why bad experience with LG?? What phones u had
I had a LG G6 it came with a factory fault Red smudge otherwise it was good
This LG velvet with 4300mah with only 5-6 hours SOT seems like battery LG did put is poor quality or they are scamming the people by saying its 4300 mah it probably less because nowadays phones with 4000 mah are giving 8-10 hours of SOT LG is always making strange moves
The dual screen is a $200 value. So that makes the value coder to Se, pixel, edge or s10lite. V60 is $200 more but has 865. Both have stylus support for way less than note or duo
Came for the phone, stayed for the chemistry pun.
Wonder where this lady gets her T-shirts?
@@nobrainerneeded4229 It's that upfront Easter Egg that makes me chuckle.
I absolutely love you're style of review, quick, strait to the point and very clear info. Now this is one phone I would consider. I'm the kind of user that set aside my Note 8 for a Motorola G7+ I got for free from my carrier. It was new, flat screen, fast enough and I'm satisfied with the casual picture taking quality. I mention flat screen because I was never a fan of the Note's rounded edges, I never found a good screen protector that worked well with it. I've realized that I don't need the latest and greatest since now even moderate technology phones are good enough, way better than a couple years back. Like I said, I really enjoy you're great reviews, Thanks
Lol, I love your T-shirts! The phone review was great as well!
Thank you for always covering LG phones on your channel. Your reviews are always thorough and helpful. I'm sad since they're leaving the mobile space.
Such a good video well put together and i was surprised by the lady and her professional skills in reviewing phones. Definitely will want to see more vids
The back design of this phone looks so good
First time viewer, loved your video and the T-shirt as well, keep up the good work!
By far the best review i have ever seen.. This lady is awesome straight forward honest to the point and very logically understandable keep kickin great reviews .. You should review everything
She's been in the game for a super long time too I still have a laptop she reviewed.almost 10 years ago
You are the only person that can deliver a commercial that I enjoy 😉
Love your original artwork with the pen Lisa! 😂
As always, love your videos! You have motivated me to start my own channel where I review phone apps :)
Enjoyed your videos :)
Im the same but how would i go about starting my own channel and get lg to semd the phones or one plus or do you buy them first ? Lisa you are so inspiring ypu are famtastic
@@natashahone9150 Hi so far I am focusing on andrioid/ios apps rather than phones but I would imagine that you would need to buy your own when you start out. Maybe once your channel has grown a bit, you could reach out to companies?
I loved my V10 & my G6. Honestly I miss the fingerprint/power button being on the back. Why do companies put the power button on the right side?
Well, when we have that answer, we'll always have to answer why every year they have to "improve" with a new model, that is just as buggy as the last model, instead of fixing the last model and making it better.
Thank you for your awesome review! SUBSCRIBED!!
Looks cool! It could come with the Keeper on it already. That would be great!
We concentrate too much on specs, but is the optimization & user experience that counts.
( except for gamers)
Thanks for the video! I love your t-shirt!
Great review, in the market for a budget phone, Velvet is great for what I need. Thx for makinyg it an easy decision.
Thanks for the review (phone isn't for me but don't let that stop you from more phone reviews). :-)
Just got the g8x with dual screen last month.
I couldn't be more happy, but wish I would've known velvet was coming so soon
Beautiful review I use the LG velvet 5g more than the Note 10 plus I currently have because of the battery life
I got the lg g8x in Germany for 500€..
It got permanently reduced in price here..
Its an absolutely fantastic smartphone.
I use it as my emulation device for newer consoles (Wii /ps2/3ds)
Great review of a great phone. Unfortunately outside my budget, but hopefully these type of phones will be cheaper soon.
Also love Keeper ! I use it on Android and it does everything I want it to do.
What a wonderful review!
$599, that was the acceptable pricing ceiling, for the base model not too long ago. I long for those days. Still, a lot of choice in the sub $400 market, which I prefer.
Selling on Ebay for $700+
Now selling for 300
Great! is ROG 3 review coming up? would you cover RAM upgrade analysis like 6gb v 8gb v 12gb v 16gb thing in flagships?
Thank you!
Very informative video, thank you.
I'll be honest, before I clicked this video I totally assumed that Lisa probably didn't know much about the phone. I'm glad I was proven wrong, it helps me stop making pre-judgements about people!
You look great Lisa! keep doing your thing girl 🤗
Also I can testify to the Keeper app. I've been using it for 3+ years now and its one of the easiest, reasonably priced password keepers around.
I just upgraded to this I can't wait
How is it
@@maliklions4934 I've had it for 4 days now. I think the camera is fine, again I just need it to take pictures of my garden and basic stuff like that. The phone itself is beautiful.
How big is it
@@KT-xd9yt how is the battery life I think 5-6 houra of SOT is not that great
How is performance gamibg etc
@@pkboss8324 hi, I charge overnight and that is enough to last all day long for how I use the phone
Lisa is my favorite reviewer!
Keeper Security is awesome. Use them on all my devices.
You should cover more the audio dept. It is much better than a lot of phones and it has the equalizer that commands all the apps even youtube or spotify
Hi great video!!! I have a question I just got the phone and I am not to tecky would you please let me know what settings are best for the camera and for doing videos please.
Using keeper on Android is so easy and intuitive!
Welcome back to phones Lisa.
That's oddly compelling for LG. I remember loving the G3 (minus bootlooping) along with the V10 ans V20 but LG really have been uncompelling except for the Quad DAC.
This looks like a real step forward for them. More competition is always a good thing.
I had the same issue with mine. Cooking the motherboard in the oven fixed the issue, at least for a little while. Strangest workaround I have ever seen on a piece of tech.

@ I wish I had 10% of the passion you have. Incredible.
@@HeadsetHistorian Thank you!!
@ well its true, the boot loop issue was present on the g3, g4 and even g5. Could be present on g2 and g6 but I didn't search that far. I had a g4 that boot looped my friend had a g4 that boot looped. At least 3 generations of the same issues, I gave up on their phones.
Good video, fav tech youtuber
Great video! This might be my next phone :)
2:24 can you hide the notch while playing?
Nice one LG. Coming to get u soon!
Such a great reviewer
Excellent review. You hit on every point! I love the looks of the Velvet. I currently have the LG G8, which I love. If the Velvet had the 32-bit Hi-Fi QuadDAC, it would be in my cart.
Frankly, I won't be considering a new phone until I can get every 5g tech, as well as the 32-bit Hi-Fi QuadDAC. If you are a Bluetooth headphone person, that won't make any difference. Listening to high-res audio on the G8 with my Bose qc20 noise canceling wired headphones is another world...including Tidal.
have you not looked at the v60?
@@ShaiyanHossain The V60 is a great phone, but at this point, I don't see any reason to switch from my G8. In fact, I won't change phones until 5G is mainstream.
@@hoppysport2872 fair point
im not sure if this works on this phone but im trying to pair my dre beats solo3 wireless to my Lg velvet uw and its not working.
any help?
The phone looks slick in the dual case:-))
Great review I really don't need all the fancy stuff. I just need my phone 2 perform the way it's suppose 2. Love lg phones.
Nice review! Is there a short of "Glove Mode" in the LG Velvet? (A capability of changing the screen's sensitivity so you can use it with normal gloves) Also, could someone remap/reprogram the "Google Assistant" button to another app? Thanks in advance
I've used Keeper Security for over 10 years. The peace of mind of NEVER using the same password on more than one site is worth every penny.
I use Keeper, it is great! My husband and I can share information for household accounts to manage things even better. I can't do without having all my passwords in one place and feel better knowing they are protected with 2 Factor Authentication
So how would you say the velvet compares to the g7 thinq? Mainly in terms of camera and audio.
Also, what an amazing yard and pool!!!!!
Great informative video, thanks 👌👌✌️🙏
How to change the call and missed call to different colour like red and green
Please please...how to activate 'Multiuser' or guest accounts? I need that to do my work. Thx for your reply.
Well, awhile back I had to replace my phone, and went with the pixel 3a.
It's not perfect but for the money it's perfect
I wish it were Wacom EMR. AES is great and all, but on such a mobile device, having a built in stylus (with no battery to worry about) is just better.
Honestly I just got this phone coming from a Samsung, I love it, I've always felt like Samsung's skin and duplicate apps are so frustrating. Definitely not a Oneplus but great phone
Appreciate this info. Lisa's take on Camera features are so different than that of sales person at Verizon. and price there is about $738 I I wonder if Lisa will do review on the Google 4XL and also the Google 5 when it comes out. Did Lisa say battery life was closer to 5 hours?
Have you tried the A71 5g? Looked through your videos but may have missed it. Trying to decide between the velvet and the A71 5g. Have a 9s, but has cracked screen. Fix it cost is too high, so need to upgrade. Thanks.
For me, the Quad DAC was the only thing that still made LG phones special. Getting rid of that is a confusing decision and I hope they seriously rethink it on their next device.
Yep. My ath m40x get some boost from this dac and btw I still using lg v20. Awesome camera, headphone jack, usb c. No need that latest update for my music player and some games.
what i understand is that they are not getting rid of it. they are just making it an exclusive feature for the flagships
This isn't a flagship though, so it's no indication that LG have given up of quad DACs.
Good job 👍
Thanks 😊
Should have put a battery and a wide angle selfie in the second screen.
Hello Lisa! Will you ever do a review for the Samsung Xcover Pro? There are absolutely no decent reviews about this phone and barely any information about it anywhere.
10:08 holy shit what happened to the edge detection there?
What happened to being able to just take high pixel count 1080 x 1920 photos?!
Thanks for the video ✍👩🎨.
LG is a giant in technology products and for them to produce a phone thst has many good features for a reasonable price is good to see. Here in Europe or Germany is not so common to see.
Well, I was all set to go in and buy the T-Mobile Velvet (as my v40 went belly-up last week and I had to go back to my LG G6 backup phonel for awhile) and guess what I found out? It does not come with the dual screen for $600 (ok, 588) and you do not have the option from T-Mobile to get the dual screen.
But it gets crazier.
If you want the single screen handset V60 at T-Mobile it's $650. If you want the dual screen they bump that up $50. So $700 for a dual screen T-Mobile V60.
So then you pay $600 at T-Mobile for your single screen handset Velvet. If you want the dual-screen version, or as they call it the dual screen accessory, you have to get that from LG for $200.
And it has to be that specific one, because apparently, like the phones, the dual-screen accessory is made to work with a specific carrier model of the phone.
So $700 for a dual screen V60, or $800 for a dual screen Velvet. But wait, it gets even slightly better.
The T-Mobile version of The Velvet has the Media Tek 1000c chip in it. Not the Snapdragon 765. The Media-Tek is supposed to be a better chipset. Not up to the snapdragon 865, but much better than the 765 that other carriers have in their version of the Velvet. But because of that there's one more little annoyance.
That chipset resulted in a slight build reconfiguration of the T-Mobile velvet. The camera teardrop Is offset from the rest of the models by about 3 millimeters. So if you get an aftermarket case for your T-Mobile velvet have an exacto knife handy, because the lenses well either be off center in the hole of a case made for them for them or some of the casee might actually cover a bit of the lens area.
If T-Mobile wanted to do things right, they would have offered the dual-screen version of The Velvet, for $50 more, just like they do with the V60.
The Big 800,000 is coming
Love my v60, dual screen
Damn I wanted a green one
For book readers, and note takers, anything with stylus support and dual screen is huge benefit. Can Kindle app books be opened on both pages for example? As a decently priced alternative to upcoming Microsoft, Samsung it adds the important factor of pushing prices down.
the main camera on my pixel 3XL crashes (anyone know a fix?)
I use a Sony RX100 for photos, but need the phone camera for various apps (that look at QR codes or shopping or translation).
I like a big display and 6.8 OLED at 1080 is fine (don't need to see 4K on a phone ...)
So I'm shopping for a phone, but I have to admit after being "vanilla" Android since the first Nexus, I think if Samsung does a great job with the Note 20, I could be willing to spend up, but this dual screen is appealing for the price and the specs are sufficient (paying up for the flagship chips in 2020 seems silly when 2019 phones were already "wow").
2:42 benches and specs
with two displays, it's going to be thick, or leave the second display in your bag, so ........................................................
I just don't get *why oh why the second display doesn't include a 4000 mAh battery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*

Alot of reviews don't spend time on the sound of the speaker. How is the speaker for this phone?
Lisa - I decided to get a V60 and the dual screen. AT&T has the V60; but can't get the dual screen from AT&T. Is there any other provider, brand, model that works with the Wacom and is dual screen? ... Also found out LG is dropping their entire mobile business. What do you think? Is it still a good expense (Jun2021) or will support die in a year or so. ... Thank You. Great channel to learn from.
Nice phone. If I was in the market for a new phone I'd consider it. But I don't think I'll change phones for a long long time. On the OnePlus 7t
I love your T shirt xx
Companies, please stop with this freaking notch thing already. Add a bigger margin or add a camera that hides and show up only when you open it (like some Xiaomi phones are doing it, for instance).
Beautiful phone seriously
THIS IS MY FURST TIME CHECKING OUT UR REVIEWS & CHANNEL I LIKE IT. I LL FOLLOW YOU👍👍 I LIKE YOUR COMPARISON & FAIR INPUT. IM NOT A FAN OF REVIEWS THAT JUST LOTS OF THE SAME PICTURES & HOUSE MUSIC 🎶 IN THE BACKGROUND LOL

Double Care Smartphone is Super Satisfying!!! Double Hit, Double Taste!!! 😜😝😋
I was going to impulse buy this, but still not available for Verizon atm.
Love the keeper and the ability to generate secure passwords.
Do you think this phone will be able to distinguish itself from the other 5G capable phones at the moment? Nice video by the way!
Will the dual screen case come in white like in korea? Cant believe they dropped the best colour for the phone and gave us a horrible dated silver colour for the case. Awful, the only reason why i wanted this over the v60 was the looks of it :(
Gorila glas 5 in front and back?
I like LG but on another note my Moto g7 power got its android ten update last night.
Are they gonna sell it internationally? In Russia in particular?
I really like the way it looks. It might be my next device if I could buy it where I live.
So nice video ❤❤
Why do phones have to have such glossy backs, that just makes them slippery. Would rather have a matte finish with grip.
Its called GLASS. And also called style... though i prefer plstic backs as they are better in a few ways.
- does not shatter
- easier to replace
- Better for fingerprints.
But they are superior a bit when it comes to scratches
It’s for the Qi charger.
The shit is beautiful
glass backs allow for wireless charging
also a plastic case is like $20 more so
@@ShaiyanHossain yup a glass back makes that possible btw wdym by $20 for plastic case?
