200 g (1) boneless, skinless chicken leg
1 tbsp olive oil
40 g (2 tbsp) oyster sauce
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp ground pepper

You sold me at kabocha, soy beans, and sticky rice. I finally made this after remembering to prep some rice. Definitely going to make this a new go-to! All my favorite ingredients repackaged makes this such a comfort food 🥰🥰
I had to steam about 10 minutes longer but that's probably bc it's super cold where I'm at and I only soaked for 2hrs before I got impatient. I subbed in some imposter chicken and added an egg last 5 minutes and it was so good I overate. No regrets!
All that said, yt algorithm has done you dirty! I followed you for all the pretty mooncake recipes but it's unfathomable how you're tucked away like a well guarded secret. For this quality? For this deliciousness?! Hopefully you'll gain more traction for your efforts. Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your videos! This is a bit frustrating, I have no idea where to get glutinous rice, I don't even know how it's called in portuguese :( I'll have to look into it. Downsides of looking for recipes in english ^^"

Mmmmh, will try this one this week! One thing though, I see you throw away the water that you used for the shiitake. Joshua Weissman actually keeps it as a broth; it's so flavorful, it's a shame to throw it!
I choose to drain away the water for sanitary reasons because mushrooms grow in dirt so they often hold quite a bit of debris. Especially with dried shiitake, it's difficult to say whether they have been cleaned or what sorts of hidden impurities it may release once soaked and expanded...so for peace of mind I don't add the water to my food -- the mushrooms has plenty of flavour itself. I hope you enjoy the dish!!
4:15 Noooo, don't peel the beautiful skin! Kabocha squash is one of the few winter squashes that the skin is edible.
The skin adds fiber, nutrients, and visual interest to the dish! Not to mention, it's absolutely delicious! Please go on and try this dish with the skin next time.
