In my opinion, this is something that could worked if The Batman series were close to finishing. If we had gotten part 2 in 2024 and say part 3 in 2026, then I think it would’ve been perfect. The Batman series could’ve been an early prequel of the DCU, and then we time skip some 10 or so years in universe to Superman Legacy. Assuming he hooked up with Talia in like year 3 or something, we could’ve gotten a 33-36 year old Bruce for the DCU. The only problem is addressing the lack of meta humans or references to other heroes, but I’m sure they could’ve found a way. Now though, I’m not so sure of the idea. It’ll be interesting to see.
To be fair, pt 2 was originally set to release this year 🤣 I don’t mind the lack of meta human references because like I said, The Penguin managed to make an all-time Batman show with one Batman reference the entire series-I think people are willing to ignore little things if the story is good. I really like Rob as Batman and would prefer to have one cinematic Batman and explore things like Batman Beyond if they were to make other Batman films.
@@Nightwingstan-n7rI agree. A lot of Synder fans are already praying for the failure of Superman. The last thing we need is more infighting of DC fans.
Yeah, idk why people can’t be happy about a fresh start. We got the Snyder Cut, which was a good send off for that universe and now we can enjoy the new DCU. Hopefully we get to the point where people can disagree on the actual direction of the stories.
Not only that, but his portrayal is so fundamentally unfaithful to the source material. I just want a comic accurate Batman in live action, like the animated movies and shows. There is 0 reason to bring him into he DCU. Also there are actors out there wjo fit the role of Batman far better than Pattinson.
I mean, James Gunn stated in the DCU lineup announcement that everything under DCU is in the same universe and movies outside of it like The Batman and The Joker will be under DC Elseworlds. So yeah, as of now, they probably won't join and i'm kinda all for it
They have previously, but recent comments have made it easy to speculate since they have not outright denied it like they did when the DCU was first announced.
My personal opinion on this is, Matt Reeves is wasting his creative talent by revamping the Nolanverse with different characters. Like seriously, he made two unrealistic franchises that became blockbusters and he chooses to skip over Batman's fantastical side? That's like Michael Bay making a movie without CGI OE explosions, or Wes Anderson making an asymmetrical movie
I think his take on Batman is different from Nolan’s in every way but I do get the exhaustion with grounded Batman takes-Gotham is much more of a character in the Reeves’ Batman universe, which I love. I think Gunn acknowledges the need for the fantastical side and that’s why there is the DCU.
@Nightwingstan-n7r After recently finding out how much of a genuine parody Nolans "Batman" is, I don't even want to talk about Nolanverse lol. On a more serious note, James Gunn is making a mistake by introducing a prime Batman in the first Chapter of DCU, it makes no sense
I think it makes sense since the last two interpretations were a young Batman and we never got to see Ben Affleck’s Batman, who was more established, have his chance at a solo movie. I think people crave a Batman movie with a history, a bat family and a fantastical side.
@Nightwingstan-n7r History is nothing if it's unexplored, without a proper setup and payoff prime Batman won't have an impact on the audience, he would just be there
I feel like there’s been enough Batman stories for people to enjoy it, but your opinion is completely valid. I’m just ready for some Batman and Robin as you can probably tell from the name of the channel 🤣

Robert Pattinson Batman is too weak to survive in a fantastical universe
I think they can power him up for a fantastical DCU. But you’re right, as he’s currently shown, no way he’s in a world of Meta Humans.

@andraw4002 Matt reeve adapted the long Halloween
Pattinson can play young Batman for some years, he still looks 28
This is true, but idk 5 years is a long time. Seeing him in other movies, he can definitely pull off a more seasoned Batman as well.

i doubt it becaues gunn and reeves has stated is it's own thing
They have previously, but recent comments have made it easy to speculate since they have not outright denied it like they did when the DCU was first announced.
@@Nightwingstan-n7r i guess
Definitely yes!
Love the enthusiasm! Appreciate you watching 🙏🏼

I wouldn't hate it but I don't think it will work
I think they can make it work but it all depends on the success or failure of Superman.
