      not that mosquitos are attracted to uv. they cant even see it, theyre all on the infrared side of things so they can see the heat and your veins.

    Summary : If you put it in area where it has a lot of lights nearby, it's pretty much useless. This kind of light based traps only works well if you put it outdoor and it's quite dark around the trap. If you want a mosquito trap that works well 24/7, you might want to look at propane based traps. The only downside is that you can't put it indoor, but light based traps are also useless for indoor.

    • @killerbhaigamingoriginal

      What if when Indoor is dark ?will it work?

    • @Arpin_Lusene
      @Arpin_Lusene 2 года назад +11

      @@killerbhaigamingoriginal if you’re not near it then yeah, to a degree. If you’re near it then unfortunately the mosquito will be more interested to you since they are more interested to CO2 that we exhaled and also our body heat and it seems like our skin smell too. Light is at the low end to attract mosquito unfortunately. They will attract insects in general but not the most effective for mosquito . Even my freshly worn shoe after working out is a better bait than just light. One day I found a lot of mosquitoes coming out of inside my old shoes after I leave it outside during the night.

    the best one of these that I had was one that had a blacklight with a fan and a tray of soapy water. The blacklight drew the bugs in (from the side), then the fan blew them into the soapy water. It caught hundreds of bugs - not just mosquitos. Downside is that it drew bugs from the whole neighborhood.
    Next best was a 5 gal pale of left over latex paint and water - really drew wasps but also other bugs. The thing was full of dead wasps.

    Mosquito attracted to carbon dioxide the gas exhausted by living things which but not all, only those warm blooded, like mammals and birds. So to make this gadget effective for human against mosquito is to attached a 4 - 5 meters breathing hose to this then the other end a to human but with facial fittings like the one we use to gas mask but with filters to both ends of the hose pipe otherwise you'll ended up mosquito going inside your nose.

    i got one, as expected didnt work.
    mozzies need a scent and heat lure (worn sock works for scent), but they fly with force upwards so they evade the suction. they dont fly downwards so well so if you mount an uoward sucking fan it will work well.
    for a lot of suction and low noise go for the 6" air duct fans. which also make a nice little unit to build a trap from. fine hole nylon bags you get on fruit work well as a filter to trap the mozzies, but fish tank filter foam would be best.
    in a hot environment they will be attracted to dark areas to hide. if its cold they go for white surfaces.

    I feel like the only problem is that the light isn't bright enough to catch their attention so I recommend spraying some rubbing alcohol on the top because that is what they're attracted to and you'll increase your chances of catching one

    Mosquito does not atrract on light. It attracted on air that you breath out and your body odour.

    We catch about triple that every night with ours INSIDE our house but ours is a different model with a sticky pad on the bottom. BEST INVESTMENT EVER and we will be buying a second one for outside the house to reduce the population around our property as they are DISGUSTINGLY RAMPANT in our area because our neighbors store old tires that collect water where they breed unchecked. We’ve offered to rate their pile of old tires to the dump for them at this point for free to give us some relief.

    I bought one of these devices, I may not be using it right as my instructions are in some Asian language that I can't read. I understand the principles behind this type of traps but despite my patience, my conclusion is that this is not effective.

      The serious ones that are effective cost over $800 USD but can break the breeding cycle populations in a good sized area over a few months.
