That’s the best type of vid. On the job in the real world. Great stuff.
Yes to the cheeky brew and the the mj Cole classic!
They say the ‘devil’ is in the detail ..... exceptional transition to a room, great job guys !
Excellent job and craftsmanship. What LED lights do you use please? Great content thanks.
Thank you!
I think I purchased them from Ultra Leds . co . uk
Simply call them ask, tell them your needs and they will make you a kit :-)
Really like this style video , in the job , real installation
Nice one Scott, I can only really do it when the customer isn't there which is a shame.
Great transformation guys, great job and video. Thanks👍
Thank you Allan 👍👍👍
Wow love this! Need you guys round mine !!
Great job, the only thing i would of done differently was made the left trim the full height of the carcass and cut the skirting back so there was no gap there, nice job though!
Fantastic! exactly what i needed. thanks for the upload
Excellent work again
Top job! Had one recently with a fuse board to hide at a similar height. Was massive. I ended up battening it out and making a face frame rather than a unit which isn't my preferred way of doing things but looked good in the end.
I like the lighting, think I'm going to look into that myself.
Like the install vids
Cheers, I do have footage of one I just finished, a corner wardrobe with shaker doors.
Hopefully that'll come in a few weeks
What LED lighting do you use for the shelves ?
Hi just normal 8mm or 10mm ribbon leds 👍
Nice Job, !!!!
Hi how thick is your MDF that you use to create the carcasses
18mm mainly, 6mm for the backings and 25mm for any shelves spanning over 600mm
What LED strips do you use? I bought the Amazon Govee strips and recessed them with a diffuser strip and you can still see the LEDS it looks awful
Hi I use simple lighting . co. uk and they can build you a kit. Also toolstation sell all the parts
Nice job mate. I have a media wall booked so could you please forward a link for the lights you use. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi cheers
its from simple lighting , worth calling them and tell them what you want and they make it plug and play for you 👍
They are just led ribbon lights, up to you whether you want dimmable or multicoloured
Thank you!!
That’s looked a tricky one working around a floor with possible pipes and wires
Sure was mate! But it didn't take too long to figure it out 👍👍
You did a reall good job and it was interesting to watch. We’re looking for something similar BUT we have deep coving around the ceiling so I would want a facia panel blocking off the top but not sure how to go about that. Would you just cut into it? 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you!
Yes exactly just cut into it with a multi tool I would imagine 👍
love your channel wish i had an apprenticeship with you ):
Are the channels in the shelf filled with aluminum channel and lens cover or just painted white and stick the light strip in and call it done?
Putting a lens in looks tacky, its a light on the back of a white painted channel
Any tips for clean up of the mitre bond? I find it hard to clean off any residue!
I use either a very sharp chisel or a scraper corner
Nooice!!!
Hi, nice video. Is there a minimum height from the top of the consumer unit to the cabinet?
Great job and vid as always. I have noticed a few times you use a sheet as a cheek between the carcass and wall. How do you get on when the wall is way out of parallel?
Hi are you talking about a side trim or panel?
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop side trim, i think you called it a cheek? But its the one next to the wall...
How do you transport your material without it marking or sticking?
Hi, we sometimes wrap with brown paper but nowadays we just use removals blankets but mainly the cloth dust sheets for staircases about 1m wide x 8m long, these seem to do the job nicely
I have a no underwear hanging out on the job site policy. Maybe if he wasn't wearing his little sisters sweats. When you put on sweats you just gave up on life. Well done on the cabinet.
I'm currently DIYing a fitted wardrobe. I have a large end panel to attach and will only have 3 fixings on the hinge side(trying to keep them hidden). I was planning on using a grab adhesive for the rest of the panel, would you recommend mitre bond instead?
I'd use tote bond or equivalent with dabs of more bond to hold while it goes off
Tite bond
I'll have to look into that
Another great video. Currently planning extending my garage and creating a decent sized workshop. Is there anything you'd recomend doing a certain way? Either in the build itself (boarding, insulating, rood type etc) or planning out where to put stuff or what to think about when planning, any help appreciated as im a beginner, thanks.
Hi, great idea.
Firstly sound proof as best as possible.
My workshop is made of 4x2 studwall and inside that rockwool slab. Workshop side is a layer of 18mm birch ply with 3mm acoustic foam layer glued to it( a stage company qas giving away 100 used sheets) after that, 12mm acoustic plaster board then skim and paint. On the outer side of the wall another layer of 18mm birch ply with acoustic 3mm foam. Then on top of that my 15mm Larch cladding. Windows also acoustic double glazing and gas and so are skylights.
Make your height at least 2500 inside for 8x4 sheets to stand up, this is very important to me.
Lighting use spots as they are housed into ceiling and don't protrude, and do same with any sockets ceiling speakers etc. My fuse board is also in ceiling void.
My main doors are made of 4 x 18mm ply glued together for sound and need a large opening to get finished pieces out of the workshop.
Lots of natural light so as many skylights or windows as poss. Light white walls I think works best as it reflects the light and easy to wipe dust off with broom.
My osb floor(lacquered 2 coats) has been so hard-wearing. 7 years on and a fire and a few water leaks and still holding up.
Everything works around my table saw. That is in position where I can put 3m material through front and back and benches work around that. All my other machines are on wheeled dolly things and stored until I need one. I hope that helps
Ryan
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop thats a massive help, thanks for going into so much detail about the build I'll definitely be following your advice. Did you use any sort of breathable membrane under the cladding? Thanks again
No probs, yes I used batons and membrane. Hardly any sound get through all the layers 👍👍
Which led strips uve used?
Toolstation they sell them👍
