    As Nano twist owner. It works, less stress, good quality and simple for everyday use. Showing middle finger to society that time has saved me from rains, air pollution, hot sun and much more.

    Tata has historically stood as a monopoly in the commercial vehicles domain. Therefore, their current disruptive endeavors in this domain can be equated to saying the iPhone 15 as the ultimate iPhone iteration.

    Way before tata launched ace they had tata 207 pickup which was not a successful product and faced hard competition from mahindra Maxx pickup truck and followed by bolero pickup. Its not like that tata didn't knew the market actually they wanted to replace the failed 207 and wanted to tap 1T market, as still now at 2T goods vehicle bolero is the preferred choice by the commercial owners.

    Here's a contrarian thought on the failure of Nano:
    1. It failed because it was way ahead of it's time and the real Indian middle class is yet to rise.
    2. The consumer that would buy a Nano is someone who's a first generation wealth generator, not someone who's used to the privileged affluence of big cities in India.
    3. For a successful automotive boom, one needs to have a preemptive boom in the number of new urban areas in a country.

    10:20 The jury may be out there, with the perception that "...nobody wanted to buy the cheapest car..."
    In the past 30 plus years (since the 1991 Liberalization), the average bicycle/moped/scooter-motorbike/first car owners have always wanted to scale up to the next segment for more passengers per vehicle. I don't believe that the introductory Rs 1 Lakh Tata Nano car was a put off for most! - in fact, market surveys and polls put aside, many would talk about wanting to pick up the Nano, BUT with the rider -"Let's see how well it sells for the next 2, 3 years, before I decide to buy a new/second hand Nano.."
    Yes, in a field full of foreign makes who were already leading the car sales, there may have been a bit of apprehension/skepticism for a home grown personal vehicle. The ensuing bad press of Nano catching fire, etc didn't help either.
    Their IndiCabs did well initially, till the competition caught up.

    Nano failed because Tata could not start the production at their Singur site in West Bengal. Didi made the Singur her political turf and Tatas had to move their factory to an alternate location. This whole process delayed the production by 4 years. And by the time first vehicle was out, people were no longer curious/interested in the product.

    either Viperless;
    self cleaning glass;
    or Telescopic Vipers;
    which just shoots out from the nimble does the job and retracts;
    min space; clean looking
    Work on it
