- The Awesome Players Off-Road Motorcycle club got together for one last ride before the season ended. Pretty eventful, Chris tries to do a front flip on his HP2, moto.joe rips the beak off his 1150GS and throws it down a few more times for good measure. Not be left out, the remaining members have a few crashes as well.
Very Nice. I really enjoy your movies. I'm one of those idiots that bought a GS but found that they have zero talent off-road, so I entertain myself with other people's rides. Your videos are most entertaining. Thanks.
I am really impressed how you guys are not afraid to command those huge, expensive Behemoth bikes through the serious off road and beyond. I have become genuinely inspired for this summer to to go shopping for a.... KTM, CRF, WR,.... Pretty much anything that doesn't out weigh my Civic! I really do enjoy your clips though, sure not afraid to show it like it is, it is one of the most realistic and well composed real off road series on youtube in my opinion.
Big bikes=FUN IN DIRT
I love your videos, I recall when I was a boy I used to put my bike on it's handlebars and seat, because we thought it was cool. I must say I have never before seen someone do that with an HP2! :)
Second, when you go up that one sand hill you always seem to crash. I keep waiting for you to say something along the lines of..."And now I am sizing up the best landing spots...crash... darn missed it, but I was close.
Thanks again, great fun watching your videos.
Regards,
Great videos!
I must be bored as hell to sit and watch but, you guys crack me up!
seriously one of the best videos on youtube because: you guys push these bikes hard!! so many falls, such great terrain, used so well! you guys are FUN!! just good guys to watch, positive, man!! great shooting and editing too!! make more!! you could probably really get something going, its not easy to have so many ingredients at once!! very entertaining, had to come back for another comment. i ride a klr 650, no trails around northern VA area tho :/ that i know of
Glad you like the videos. We do have a pretty good time! There has to be some trails in Northern Virginia...we want to see some video.
Cheers
Great video! You have made me feel much better about my own riding skills.
Holy Cow Chris!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was quite the endo! Since he's OK, can I point out the humor of the little toot of the horn as he hit's it with his knee? Didn't catch it the first two times I replayed the accident, but it's there:)
I was riding a DR650 last weekend. Makes everything too easy!
great ride, boys. i miss my dr 650 now. funny film, funny speaker, good job!
gotta give it to these old guys there not afraid to wreck! true off road character.
I enjoy watching our videos, just read below yall were new to the dirt. I hope yall keep riding together its nice to see different bikes on the same trails/hills
.P.S. DR 4 the win..
Henrik has sold the DR and will have a new mystery bike for the 2015 season!
Awesome Players Sounds very interesting! :D Looking forward to Watch some new videos.. By the way, what model of the gopro are you guys using?
Thanks man. Any bike is fun. I would love to get something smaller but like the big bike on the highway. We try to show it as it is although we do edit some profanity...
I really like your videos and I admire that you manage to ride such heavy bikes in those conditions. Personally I have benen shifting to more and more lighter bikes and I think the ridning i so much eaiser now. Keep on smiling guys!
I've been trying out smaller bikes lately. I've ridden the DR and have owned a KLR. Tried out a KTM 350 EXC and and a 500 but find them too high strung. Really liking Joe's X-Challenge.
Look forward to it. Cheers.
The suzuki owner is going to pay the least for repairs since it's the cheapest when it comes to parts.
I really enjoyed this video and I really wish I was with you guys :)
Now this is funny; one of the best bike videos on RUclips. I'm glad to see you with proper equipment, but this video constitutes a Demo of what I've long suspected. Big BMWs, like the GS 1200, and the F 800, (and the KTM 990 and Yamaha Super Tenera are no more designed for off-road than a two whell drive Chevy Suburban. Now the BMW 650 singles, with the right tires, could do a credible job, although they still weigh over 400 lbs. A Yamaha XT 250 would do better.
I love it; I watch it like it is a T.V. show!
Great vid!!! I loved the commentary

"Thank you for the comment. We are very lucky here in Canada."
awesome can't wait for 2011 series
Also the last music on video is a killer !!!
We have members all over!
Who cares about the money at this point? I can tell their satisfaction that Monday morning when they get back to work and the whole week talking about what happened last weekend...Trust me, people spend a lot more than these guys do just to satisfy their minds and bodies. After all i find it more interesting than drinking and gambling the whole weekend...
Great job guys!
On the F800GS and 1150GS we use a Shoei Hornet and on the HP2 Chris is using an Arai XD4.
Henrik has a great sense of humour...and needs it.
you guys are awesome id ride with you all any day!! hilarious
Nice work guys. Your film gave me new ideas for my own shooting.
You have so wonderfully funny and takes it all happens with a great laugh. I suspect it's the way it should be. Would be wonderful to spend a weekend with you.
Take care and all the best.

They are big pgs but all that matters is if you are having fun. An XT250 would be awesome except the 3 hours of highway to and from the trails would be a major drag! The BMW F650 singles only weigh a little less than the 800 and I would miss the HP too much. Guess it's always a compromise....
Not sure what year the DR is. I think it has been pretty much unchanged for decades.
Most of us live around Montreal with one fellow in Toronto and one just outside Hawkesbury Ontario.
It is certainly Henrik's favorite! Joe is actually shopping for one as well.
lots of fun guys.Always enjoy watching ;]
+Tony S Thanks. Cheers.
that looks like sooo much fun, now i just need a bike for the job and find some friends
great video ! would love to ride with you guys if i ever had the chance !
you guys look like your having a blast, with some smaller bike the fun would be 10x as much fun ,i was going to say keep the shiny side up but
Goeie werk Hendrik!
Thanks!
I wonder which of the bikes you have ridden. Personally I do not enjoy the 800 much, but the 1200gs I love, great bike, great off road, loads of fun you just have to, as they say, "give her" a bit and she will go there!
Oh and I ride a KLR650 (only 432lbs) because I can not afford the BMW. But at least I have ridden the BMW and the XR650 off road, have you my good fellow?
what programs do you use to edit the gopro video? i have yet to find something i like that is easy to use and works.
Or a Honda XR 650. The 'L' is the current model, but if you find an XR 650 R, which they stopped making in about 07, they can be, and usually have been, "uncorked" into absolute rockets. They also weigh about 30 or so pounds less than the L (no electric starter, E.g.) The one thing you'd need to change is the stock seat, which is sooooo uncomfortable. An outfit named Sargent in Jacksonville, FL makes a great seat. It's narrow in the front, so you can stand, but plush in the back when you sit.
I have F 650 gs Dakar 2006. And it's excellent for this. Also a little heavy but no one is perfect. I will buy good tires for off road and will try to make a good video with my friends. See you in early March.
good video and good team !!!
Great video funny fun times
Thanks...I think. Cheers.
It is really too bad that the sandpit is now off limits. Was a really fun spot and not too far from home. Only takes a few idiots with loud pipes who leave a bunch of garbage around to ruin it for everyone. Rant over!
@rickthescot Well there is a perverse thrill to riding big bikes where we should be using little ones. Plus with the licensing and insurance rates here having a little dual sport and a big road bike is quite expensive. We also have pretty long commutes to the trail. , sometimes more than an hour and a half each way. Not much fun on a 250. And finally we aren't that bright!
それは楽しみました。 ありがとうございました。
Time to get Netflix!
where are you guys located? ontario?
p.s. what years the dr650?
Im looking foreward to the 2011 season :D
(7:20) I did the same on my off road moped (a Derbi Senda R) of a huge block of ice/snow, that were melted on the opposit side, so there were no path down -.-'
Yes and yes!
hey awesome players, what kind of fender is on that dr 650 it looks really good, also what kind/size of gas tank is on it ! and im planning on getting a dual sport after im done college they look like a lot of fun
cheers ,Ben
front fender* looks like one from a moto cross bike
I think the tank was an Acerbis. Not sure about the fender.
I use Avid Media Composer. Probably the best choices are iMovie on the Mac, Adobe Premier or Sony Vegas. My buddy Rex (REX4X4 on RUclips likes Cyberlink Powerdirector.
You are awesome!!!
Hringhorne Stularsson Don't believe everything you see on the internet!
Awesome Players no that I will not .... but unfortunately one continent apart, would like to go ride with you!
I cant help but ask you, how can you fall like riding a bike first time so easily, it doesnt look like you have much body motion and fluidity in your movements. It basically looks like you're driving a quad, then suddenly someone gives you 2 wheels and its a simple fall.
Dont you want to worry too much about your style or whats the case here? Just asking, no critiscism intended, nice videos :)
We just started riding the summer of 2010 in the dirt. Big bikes, no skills a little old and stiff, this is what you get. Quite a bit of improvement in the last few years. Had the 800 and the HP2 out on some pretty gnarly single track this last weekend as well as miles of loose, deep sand and we had no issues. I see the guys who rode dirt bikes since they were kids and it is a whole other story.
He now wears a Leatt neck brace...just in case.
Dr is the best looking of the bunch.
Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.
@@AwesomePlayers its ok, you can tell me I have a shit option and im wrong. Lol
40 year olds thinking they are in still 20 is always entertaining.
Amen to that!
I was thinking of getting a DR650, but you guys don't seem to like it very much, is it just because it's not as good as the others ?
The DR650 is a fine machine. We just like irritating Henrik! I think tall people also find it a bit small. It is certainly easier to ride on the trail as it is smaller and lighter. They are also inexpensive. Chris and I are used to more horsepower and it is a lot more comfortable on the highway on the big bikes. It is all a compromise.
Awesome Players
And here i was thinking it was actually the biggest and heaviest bike i would consider getting (and i'm 6'3")
My ideal bike so far (i think) would be the Honda CRF450X with the weight of a 250cc (270 pounds ready to ride) and the power of a 650cc (42-46HP), but i would like some luggage space and room for an occasional passenger, i'm not sure it can handle that.
Anyway in my budget it seems that used ~650cc bikes are the most common (not sure why) Now i just need to figure out which brand, which model, and which model year bike is the best.
Cheers.
Joe G.P. The DR, KLR and XR and pretty similar in weight and power. They all feel quite different though when you ride them. You will really need to try them. For a used 650 I really like the BMW X-Challenge. Really good for tall guys but pricier used.
I never even heard of that bike, not bad though, as light as the XR650 and more powerful, i'll definitely add it to my list.
Oh and the KLR is 65 pounds heavier then the XR (411pounds vs 346), that's pretty significant if you ask me
Joe G.P. I'm 6'3" and b love my dr650. I run 17in supermoto wheels with sport bike tires most of the time for ripping up twisties and ride a crf250x in the woods but the dr is very capable and I could make it more places on my dr with street tires than most anyone can on a 600lb bimmer. Tall seat, low pegs, and tall bars make it much more roomy and comfortable too.
love the Suzuki DR650 it can take a beteing
I rented a BMW sertao 650 in Costa Rica and had the same style front fender and it cracked off on the 3rd day
The DR650 is far better choice than those BMW show bikes
Perhaps, except that the show bikes always made it home as well with far less mechanical issues.
What are your guys helmets called.
"..... always pack out our garbage, which explains why we haven't left that DR 650 behind on the trail". So mean and hurtful, funny as can be but hurtful. lol.
They do get itchy sometimes.
日本には無い環境でのバイク遊び!羨ましい限りです。
The 1150 looks like Buell now;)
clap clap aplausse for everybody
7:20 Epic fall :DD
@motorcyclelad. We always assumed that was escaping gas....
Compromise, indeed. I'm sure you've considered some 250 pound bikes, and a trailer, but then your videos would be nearly as funny - although you'd have much more spectacular crashes. ;-)
Hey! I'm closer to 50 than 40!
Cheers
thumbs up!!!
subscribed! but please, use tripod! to many jerks, hard to watch! but it is funny!
+Leyen Sento Hey Leyen. Glad you like the clip No place for a tripod. Just pull the camera out my pocket and shoot.
+Awesome Players for Henrick face the indercdaters under the back on a bar
Sure..Malaysia isn't that far!
I just have to ask why don't you guys use more throttle and less bike. Those massive BMWs are not what I call dirt worthy.
So the BMW now looks more like a KTM. Just leave it and paint it Orange.
7:28 flip ... funnnnnie will sub you for that riot... Maine
hahaha love it!
FRONT FLIP!!! haha
you dont need a kickstand when you have a BMW engine
That is very true!
7:22
AHAHAH TOOOOPPPPPP!!!!!! goooo!
Skills of 2 year old child :) comics :D
Junior Filip Bad riding makes good video as we say in APORMC.
hahhahaha funny video , joe decided to crash twice
youtubers siitin on the couch critiquing people that get out and ride and post their videos =/
Try on 80-125 first.this bikes are to big for you
