It is all about the animals. The great health is just something that comes with it. It's like a gift back for trying to help the best we can. I wish I could do so much more
I will admit, it's a mix of health and rational choice for me. It just doesn't make sense morally (for animals and also humans in the long term in terms of actually keeping people fed logistically) to not go vegan.

It also breaks my heart that virtually 100% of the people I have shown these speaches to are still willingly consuming the products of this industry at almost every single meal. Human society has many many problems that cause imeasurable amounts of suffering and death, most of which we are powerless to resolve, but this one is in the hands of each and every one of us, if we choose to care enough to do something about it.

This is a perfect speech. Deeply thought and felt as well as elegantly expressed. The interconnectedness of all life, the eschewing of speciesist authoritarianism and tyranny over other species, the artbitary nature of our love for some species and consumption of others, the normalised violence at the heart of our moral systems and the call for a truly encompassing circle of moral concern: a beautiful moment of vegan truth shared with the world. I think many people already understand that these animals suffer but not to which extend. Still, no matter how much they suffer, some people just don't care about the feelings of others as long as it benefits them.
You strike at the heart of the argument, encapsulate the completeness of the message which needs to be articulated to the masses. So very well done Ed.xx
It’s truly difficult to argue against veganism. Even if one can say, “it’s okay to eat animals, circle of life (bullshit)”, you can’t argue with “but it’s also okay NOT to eat them. It is more compassionate NOT to eat (use) them.”
Actually it's really easy to argue against veganism: I need to consume living things to keep on living. I don't discriminate; I eat both plants and animals without fear or issue.
Walter Khayyam the existence of thousands of vegans, some life-long, disproves your argument. Are you sure it’s not just because it’s more convenient to live as you always have? And what is more important; the convenience you benefit from or the life and death of another sentient being? If you say convenience, you prove that you’re complacent with causing needless suffering, just as any immoral actor you may frown upon like thieves, murderers, and rapists.

Ask yourself, if you want to be the person, that pays for innocent beings to be killed and exploited just for our taste pleasure. Ask yourself, how you would react, if someone did this to a dog or a cat (maybe you have one). Or even yourself. I'm sure, you actually don't want to be this person making fun of animal cruelty and suffering. I wish you all the best.
I've been watching you for a few months now and am currently in Veganuary. It isn't going to stop there. I love cooking and am really enjoying the new dishes (we were already not eating huge amounts of meat but I do love butter!) Excited to start my new journey!
The only question is how was I not vegan earlier... I guess sometimes we’re all just innocent kids that don’t know any better... it took me into my 30s to realize and go vegan. I think it’s about teaching people to know better.
Holy crap, that was amazing! This should be required viewing for anyone who has no legitimate excuse not to go vegan. And if you have access to adequate plant foods, you have no legitimate excuse.

@Lee Ara As I've said elsewhere: Demagoguery: "political activity or practices that seek support by appealing to the desires and prejudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational argument." I'm saying that those who advocate veganism (like Ed does) advocate through demagoguery rather than by rational argument.
@Lee Ara The irrationality of your position is already demonstrated by the assumption that there is only one argument against your position. I eat meat for the same reason I eat plants; something living needs to die for me to keep on living; I have accepted that reality, you haven't. You instead create a diet surrounding whether or not you can anthropomorphise the source of the food in question.
@Lee Ara By the time my meat has been killed, its brain is no longer functioning and its nervous system no longer has the capacity to feel pain, so why does it require further consideration? But be careful of taking your logic to its conclusion, there is a whole species of animal that has no central nervous system (or pain receptors) or a brain in any way comparable to any other (or has an identifiable comparable consciousness) yet it is unpalatable to vegans. These are: Crustaceans.
This really moved me. Although I already take efforts to be a vegan for the animals, videos like these reinforce and strengthen my belief and motivate me to do better for these innocent animals ❤ Thank you Ed as the message of veganism I first got was from your videos ! Keep going on ! there surely will be a time we will make it a better place for animals and humans alike .❤ Peace ✌🏻

A brilliant speech that should go straight to the heart. Listening RSPCA?
Jon wp I stopped give money to them and choose smaller private rescues that needs help cos like all larger Corp they end up corrupted. I still deal with them as a emergency vet contact for the animals not for them but they don’t get a penny out of me anymore!
Miss Heidi Thumbs up 👍

@@iams2109 Great argument as usual. Evil tool.
@ I'm guessing... you say that to your parents and family members right ? 😂😂😂
If you are a mother and cannot sympathize with the pain that this mother cow went through than there is a serious disconnect.
As a childless woman I can sympathize with what animals go through just from dealing with artificial insemination and being milked and violated for their bodies & secretions
I'm so sorry I contributed to this barbarity. I'm so sorry. I never will again.
I was so naive and stupid that I never thought about where my milk came from. I thought, Oh well, it's a product of the animal, the animal doesn't suffer. How wrong I was.
Please, go vegan.
We were all like this, bizarre hey
Well it’s kept a dirty secret, as it’s wrong
So many feel this way. We were wrongly educated I in my younger days just thought cows gave milk how stupid was I and I am a mother. I was told you need milk to be healthy we were given it at school Not any more I know exactly where my food comes from now and being vegan is the most ethical compassionate healthy and environmental choice that you can make. I only wish I knew earlier in my life what I know now how different my choices would have been so very different. But it is never too late to change. I too am so sorry for my past choices.
"Please go vegan" Are you begging us? 😂😂😂 you people must be really desperate.... lol
Ivan Mendez 'Us people' aren't desperate, Ivan. We would just like people to make a change and choose not to contribute to the suffering and torture of living creatures. And if you're not interested in any of that, why are you commenting on this video? Is your life so devoid of meaning that you choose to try to make others' lives just so?
I have been vegan 3 years now. For me nutrition and health had nothing to do with the decision. It is all about the animals.
Indeed, but it’s a win win win isn’t it’s?
Thanks for telling it as it is Earthling Ed.
Been vegan for two years, have heard speeches from gary yourofsky, peter singer, cosmic skeptic, etc etc. This one was one of the most powerful ever. It breaks my heart.

I think that prize is for people who've done something to stop genocide or major human rights violations. Giving speeches doesn't warrant the Nobel Peace prize.

1,5X speed logic;) Welcome to the world of productivity
@@WalterKhayyam you don't discriminate means you are prepared to eat your loved ones also, correct?

@Lee Ara You're easily persuaded by demagoguery then.
It will change your life for the better 💛
@Lee Ara As I've said elsewhere: Demagoguery: "political activity or practices that seek support by appealing to the desires and prejudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational argument."
I'm saying that those who advocate veganism (like Ed does) advocate through demagoguery rather than by rational argument.
