  • "The sky is the limit": Hike with our kids from Štrbské Pleso (Odbačka pri Heliose - 916 m), following the Tatranská Magistrála at the east side of Mengusovská dolina to Popradské pleso and Sedlo pod Ostrvou (1,966 m), from which we continued along an unmarked path towards the Tupý hrb (2,179 m) and the Tupá (2,284 m).

    ------------- HIGH TATRAS -------------
The High Tatras are one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is an alpine mountain range, a northwestern extension of the Carpathians, that rises out of the ground on the border between Slovakia and Poland. In the High Tatras, consisting of and eastern (Zapadné Tatry) and western side (Vysoké Tatry), you will be enchanted by many beautiful valleys, numerous waterfalls and dozens of crystal clear lakes. Many hiking trails wind their way through the valleys and over the numerous slopes and peaks with phenomenal mountain views. A 'must visit' for nature lovers! The main summit of the hiking trip in this video was the Tupá (2,284 m), a mountain located in the Slovak part of the Eastern High Tatras (Vysoké Tatry), which is characterised by unique and impressive sharp and rough rocky peaks up to 2,655 m (Gerlachovský štít). Since it is an unmarked path that guides you to the summit of the Tupá, there's a big chance that you will be there on your own, so you can fully enjoy the beauty of nature and the impressive views on the nearby mountains (Končistá 2,537 m, Vysoká 2,547 m, Rysy 2,503 m, Satan 2,422 m, Kôprovský štít 2,367 m and even the summit of the Kriváň with a height of 2,494 m popping up behind the Satan mountain range) and the adjacent valleys Mengusovská dolina and Zlomisková dolina.
    ------------- ABOUT US -------------
We are a Belgian family with three kids (Kyllian °2009, Iluna °2012, Jaylinn °2015). Since 2015, we are hiking intensively and bring our children into contact with many unique regions and make them aware of the fragility of nature, which we should all cherish. From the summer of 2021 onwards, during our holiday in Slovakia, we started to make short video recordings during our hiking trips to make our memories more tangible. After we compiled the videos, we decided to share those amazing and unique places with all of you, and group them under the heading 'HIKES IN EUROPE'. We hope that watching our videos can inspire you, give you a moment of joy or can give you inspiration for your own holidays.
