A Fun mission created by SEDLO for DCS World and the AV-8B Harrier! I did some of the voice work and it was a lot of fun. Watch out for MANPADS! Here is SEDLO's description of the mission...
This is a fictional, “what if”, scenario where Georgia had hurriedly joined NATO prior to the full scale Russian invasions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
NATO air power has begun staging at airbases around Georgia proper, and have commenced defensive air operations. Currently, NATO air forces are cleared to operate within the territorial boundaries of Georgia, and are cleared to conduct strikes to support NATO ground forces within Georgian Airspace.
Last night, a Georgian armoury was attacked by Russian backed separatist guerillas, and a number of heavy weapons, including APCs, ZSU-23 Shilkas were stolen. Intelligence suspects that the stolen armour is heading east in order to escape into South Ossetia.
This hostile group is believed to be made up of South Ossetian Guerillas, Russian SPETZNAZ forces and defecting Georgian Army personnel.
Badger 1, a joint Canadian / Georgian convoy has been dispatched to locate the purloined equipment before these criminals can escape.
Love the fact that you left the hard landing on there. We’ve all done it but it lends tons of credibility and respect for you and your videos. Really great stuff here man. Thanks for posting.
There's no way to not to love DCS World. Nice flying as always!
Luis Felipy thanks for the support!
Great mission! I’m new to DCS and just got the Harrier! I’ve been using your videos to learn how to use the aircraft! Thanks and keep the videos coming l.
Is there a specific segment of the harrier that you would like me to do a video on? Thanks for the support! Glad my videos are helpin you out!
Spudknocker thanks for the reply! I think maybe how to use the navigation? And how to set up missions in the editor! All I’ve been doing in the harrier is taking off, flying around and landing! So I guess navigation and then dropping bombs/ launching missiles! What is the keys to bring up the “pick your load out” when on the ground? Thanks again
Ross Bish cool I will see if I can figure something out there! I would just try playing with the mission editor to start out and try placing waypoints etc
Spudknocker ok cool! I’m guessing when you build your own mission in the editor and you add way points that this will be added to the navigation on the harrier when the mission starts?
Nicely done, Spudknocker!
Thanks man! Awesome mission!
Great video! Keep em coming!
BeastFishMusic I’m glad you liked it! I would advise that you try out the mission!
Yeah! i'll be sure to check it out.
I'm not sure that there is a rotation for rolling take-off in the harrier. The risk of tail strike is high. I think you must keep the aircraft leveled and move the nozzles to a certain position (nozzle angle and speed for your gross weight can be find in the manual). I'll verify but pretty sure that there are no rotation at take off and no flare for conventionnal landing
Thats pretty much everything spot on there. Theres a speed you'd want to jump at, but a conventional rotation isn't great. Plus the landing gear positioning isn't good for the harrier either which doesn't help. The nozzle angle and speed are there to look up but for DCS purposes it doesn't matter much, anywhere from 60 degrees or (preferably) less does the job for most cases, and the speed can be guessed after a few takeoffs. The extra maintenance costs of going too fast or using the wrong nozzle settings isn't of huge importance in DCS, similar to the costs of having the wrong nozzle sections at idle or taxi and kicking dust up to sand the paint off etc. it really doesn't matter for the majority of players.
I typically accelerate to 160-180 kts depending on load, then flick my nozzles to 60 degrees and jump off the runway, then nose up attitude at least 5 degrees, pull in gear, rotate nozzles slowly forward, pull in flaps, transition to level flight.
Dunno if that is up to anyones manual, but that's how I do it.
Another great video. Learning lots from you.
Awesome! I am glad that my videos are helping you out! Are they any topics about the Harrier or DCS World that you would like me to cover in a video?
Will let you know. Don't have any other topics just now.
Alright sounds good!
One question actually, what software you using to capture your video?
NVidia shadowplay...why?
Awesome looking mission, I will be trying it
kengou I highly recommend it!
Great video Spud, I personally like using voice attack takes a bit of the workload away by not having to navigate menu's whilst trying to concentrate on flying, have you tried it in the F-14 yet?
Hey Spud nice work as All Ways haha. I was wondering why the GBUs were able to lase with the code set to 1111 is this a bug?
Just found your channel, great stuff! Got another subscriber ;)
JaboG 32 I’m glad you like it! Thanks for the support!
Nice Video!
Per von Harke thanks! Glad you liked it!
Just found your hannel, i like it. Please keep making videos
luis laurencio thanks for the support! Are there any video topics you would like to see in the future?
Spudknocker i would love to see some missions or campaing reviews
luis laurencio awesome i will take that under advisement!
cool mission mate
Antoine Thisdale glad you liked it!
Just finished it. Great stuff. Left comment.
Got a "break right mistake" VO while on Taxi at end of mission (fyi).
Antoine Thisdale That’s weird! Glad you liked it
Hey, how did you or whoever designed the mission get the ATC comms into it?
Regular ATC comms in DCS are annoying, like I’d be flying an IMC approach to minimums and the ATC says “cleared for visual”... And I don’t even know what “climb 300” is supposed to mean on takeoff clearance. I’d love to put in better ATC comms in the audio for my missions.
Thanks, and great vid!
xGENERALx19 they are scripted voice overs not integral to DCS
My wingman won't respond on 287.550? Am I using the correct FEQ?
Wow...I'm new to DCS and the Av-8B so will be locked in on your channel. Where can I download your missions?
This mission was no created by me, I don't post the little scenarios I create for tutorials as they are very simple and only used for the purposes of creating video tutorials, the link to my friend Sedlo's mission can be found in the video description, or you can start making your own missions with this video ruclips.net/video/B6hEi-fVQbc/видео.html a mission editor tutorial
I am glad that my videos are helping!
Now if you make one on setting up the Warthog Hotas, pedals, and MFD (cougars) for the Harrier that would be really cool! Thanks again!
James Jackson lol I don’t have a warthog Hotas or MFD’s I have a saitek X56
👍🙏
Hi mate, could you create a mission for the harrier (multiplayer?) Where you both start and finish on the ship, is about 6 or 700 mile round trip so we get to see you with the tankers, take off about 0300 & you come back to the ship in bad weather please? Targets could be a bridge & runway & maybe a couple of SAMs?
Every single time I land it’s this bad or worse 😂 least we know your human
Are you using VR or just a normal monitor?
where can I get the Vaicom profile for the Av-8B Harrier? I couldn't find it in ED's "User Files" downloads.
Perfection Man there is no aircraft specific profile it’s one universal set up
Ok, I thought I had seen Viacom profile downloads for various aircraft so thought they were aircraft specific.
Perfection Man oh that’s for the old version I believe the new version 2.5 is universal
VAICOM 2.5 plugin thread: forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=198297
Is this in VR?
HOLY SHIT!! WHAT IS UR PC SPECS
WiggleMcJiggles holy shit what? Haha and I have an I7-7700K and GTX 1080 32 gb of ram
Nice voice work. Use a little more excitement in your voice talking to ATC before take off. Don't make it sound like it is a..."casual" take off. Doesn't seem like an important situation/mission.
