I decided to follow it up all the way to show how the scam works. I hope this helps you all stay safe in your search for the perfect caravan. The seller has been reported and I am logging it on the the fraud help website.

You even look like a caravan owner.
Cheerssssss.... this is the comment of the week. What does a caravan owner look like? All the people I know with a caravan look different to me.
This has made my day 🤣🤣🤣and creator has a good sense of humour
@@BOSHDUB do you know what a caravanner looks like? Someone must know... hahaha
Well done mate, great vlog. I had something similar with a car a few years ago, this Isle of Man thing again. Good bit of detective work. Graham
Cheers Graham... was a little drawn in then after a deep breathe something felt wrong. Had to go along with it so I could warn others. Ian...
Excellent video and thanks for sharing! We had all the same worry when buying our first caravan. In the end we went with a registered dealership and yes paid a bit more but we had that piece of mind. Good luck with your search!! 👍
Thank you Gareth. Just felt it needed to be shared. Thanks for watching. Ian...
I’ve come across the exact same scam about 3 years ago, same approach with Escrow account. I reported it to the National Fraud squad and forwarded all details to them. They use previous caravan sale listings from other sites. Great vlog highlighting this issue 🙂
Cheers... thought it was worth the mention. Probably been covered before but this is the first time I have seen this. Ian...
Yes definitely worth mentioning it. Thieving b***ards 🤔
I thought it was a Scam! We nearly got scammed in a Audi Q7 a few years back from Wales. It was £10,000 lower than it should be! I hope you do find your dream caravan! Cheers Oliver
He did not answer any of my questions. He did not even want me to cris check it.... suspect straight away. Ian...
Great vlogg and very informative highlighting one of the pitfalls of buying online. Be safe everyone.
I thank you... thought is was worth highlighting. Ian....
Well done Ian, thank you for bringing it to everyone attention. P&J
Cheers guys... probably already been covered but I thought it was worth a mention again. I did think after a few mins this was too good to be true. Ian....
As soon as you mentioned this on twitter, i was thinking it was a scam. My suspicions were correct. Glad you didnt get caught out Ian, as many people do fall for these scammers. Well done for highlighting it.
Thanks Guys... don't worry I am so careful with my money. I don't let go until absolutely sure. Having said that it did draw me in with that price. Ian...
Good on ya, You did your research feeling that it was to good an offer which generally they are and you have brought it to the attention of the authorities. Good hunting on your future purchase
Brilliant video, Ian, thanks. Escrow in itself is legitimate - it's a third party that holds onto money until the buyer is satisfied. In the US I think they use it for house sales. Of course, the escrow service has to be legitimate to be any use-in this case it clearly wasn't.
You said in the next video to buy from a dealer and, though our next caravan will be well below the £10k mark, we'd still rather do that since they're legally obliged to sell something fit for purpose and to have done their checks re ownership etc. Our caravan was only £2k but came from a local dealer.
Good luck in your search!
Thanks.... had never heard of Escow but I would go direct to them rather a link I was sent from the seller. It probably be a link to a fake server. Anyway let's all stay safe and beat these scumbags. Ian...
Thanks for sharing this, hopefully it will stop someone getting caught.
Best wishes
Jon and Karen
I hope so too. Easy to be caught off guard. Ian...
Very informative and I love the fact you played along. Sad fact is scammers do this because there are people out there that fall for it.
I know it might seam a little obvious but it is so easy to get sucked into it. I was for a few minutes until i asked myself "why so cheap". Ian...
Well done Ian for all your detective work. You have highlighted a major scam! and made people aware which is a great thing to do. Only good can come from your video so thank you for sharing - Lin xx
Cheers... an update is coming soon. Ian...
Well done you for that. Far too many people are being swindled out of their honestly earned money to highway robbers.
Cheers.... spread the word and warn others was my plan with this vid. Ian...
If its good too good it's a scam
Indeed.... pity some are still falling for this type of scam. This why I did this video, maybe I should do a follow up.
Lucky escape there.
Uship is not a delivery company at all and nor do they arrange transactions. I am a transporter, I use Uship, Shiply and Anyvan websites. These websites are just reverse auction sites similar to ebay where customers list their delivery requests and self employed transporters such as myself will bid our price on the delivery. The customer then can review prices and transporters previous feedback on that site to make an informed decision.
Uship dont employ transport staff, they dont even own or operate vehicles. They are just a website based out of the USA (Texas I believe) with minimal admin staff. The only transactions us transporters have is to collect our delivery fees from the seller or the buyer whether it is cash on collection or delivery. Invoicing after the delivery (transporters will need to be licensed creditors to offer this) or online payment either over the phone, bank transfer or paypal.
Paypal and some banks if paid by credit card will issue a charge back for any goods you paid to a seller if they are not as described or from the transporter if there has been any damage to the item.
Transporters are just that. They collect, they deliver. They do not build, assemble, move furniture into various locations in a customers house. We just transport only with Kerbside to Kerbside service where we load or assist loading of items onto and off the vehicle and even assist carrying to and from a customers front door/garden gate. Once the item has been passed the threshold of the front door or to the garden gate which ever is closest to the road that is part of your enclosed property. That is the end of the transporters responsibility for any injuries or damage. items should be inspected before being loaded onto the vehicle and immediately after being unloaded as that is all the insurance would cover. If you require a transporter to bring items from or to the inside of your garden or property. Then all liability falls onto the customer at that location and must have made all reasonable steps to protect the transporter from being injured on your property.
I was only looking and felt something was wrong... I had to follow this up and warn people. I dread to think how many people would and have been caught out by this. Ian...
@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans unfortunately, I been caught up in these and similar scams in the past. I still transport caravans and trailers all over the UK alongside other vehicle deliveries using trade plates. I don't do general haulage as much now. I might make a video pointing out similar scams. I avoid getting caught up in scams now by charging my fee upfront on most jobs. I usually can tell genuine customers just as easy as dodgy ones.
Brilliant Ian. Well done to you 👍its so frustrating that these people keep on stealing from hard working honest people. Well done mate..Rob
Thanks Rob. I feel the same. Hate the fact they take while we earn our money. Isn't...
Wow what a great video Ian and well done in bringing this to everyone’s attention including the relevant authorities. As it’s been said on many occasions any potential buyers NEED to buy with their head and not their hearts. Keith & Michele
Thanks guys...
Good video and very glad you weren't scammed. these video's need to be retweeted, everyone needs to be aware of these low life's.
Cheers... everyone needs to be aware of these scams. This was a new one to me. Ian...
Thanks for this mate. I love watching your videos as you strike me as a real down to earth guy. Keep up the good work
aagghh thank you Robert. You get what you see with us here. Like us or loathe us we are what we are. We just love the caravan lifestyle and if we can help others along the way that's great for us. Thanks for watching... Ian...
Ian you did really well with this scam. You should have been a Detective.
I always wanted to be a policeman.... for some reason it just never happened.
Brilliant video fella ……… and the way you positioned yourself between the curtains like an emperor 😳😊😊👍👍👍👍
Cheers... much appreciated. Hahaha my position was pure luck, emperor? Now I like the sound of that.... do I get to give a thumbs up or down like Julius Caesar?
@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans 🤣🤣🤣😳…….. always thumbs up 👍 emperors choice lol . Have a great day
Well done Ian. Great presentation of the evidence as well. I truly hope the Police follow up your report. I suspect though, that the 'Thief is in Romania or similar country. At least your money is safe and a good warning to others.
Thank you John. I am working on a follow up. Just gathering some facts together.
Thanks for the information. It’s so easy to fall for this sort of scam. I wonder how many people have fallen for his con and have lost money, it’s terrible.
Just what I thought. Had to follow it through so I could share it with you all. Ian...
ian he does this scam with vans cars caravans boats trucks motorhomes the list is endless the one he tried to get me on was a tipper and low and behold it was in the shetland islands but after some fishing long story it was pictured in essex
These rats do my head in. The police have been informed so many times but still this goes on. May do another video on this subject, raise more awareness and try and stop the unsuspecting losing hard earned money.
Nice one Ian sent that Scumbag packing.
I not seen his fake adverts for a while. Lets just hope he finally got caught. I will still be trying to find more scammers. Hate the thought of people losing their hard earned money to these low lifes. Ian....
This caravan is still for sale on eBay for £7200 🤔
Will have to get in touch with Ebay again. They took it down last time. Must have det up another account.
👍
Thank god you did your homework mate!! So easy to have fell for that!!
Thankyou so much, I want to get a caravan but I’m a complete novice, I’m so glad there are genuine ppl like you that show people like me the highs and lows of caravanning.. thankyou again
Well done, some nasty people about 💔💔😢
There certainly is. Really upsets me that there are people out there that do not want to work and are prepared to take away peoples hard earned dreams.
Thanks for this…great job in raising awareness. I live by: ‘…if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is…’
Thank you... no problem. Best to be safe than sorry.
There's so many people out there that try and con you it's incredibly. It's really hard to know who's genuine or not, especially when you're buying postal items over the internet from private sellers. By the way German caravans are the best 😉
Hi from Australia this has recently happen to us we were upgrading our caravan and we got contact by a scammer and wanted us to pay upfront for the movers that's when the alarms started ringing we informed him we are not going ahead and he got violent over the email so my husband informed him he was a scammer and will block him. He stop emailing us .
Sad to hear it's going on in Aus too. I have a lot of family in Aus and Taz.
@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans
Thank You for your reply i have just recently watching your youtube shows and your the only one i know had a similar problem keep up with the good work and enjoy watching your shows.
Scammers ruin online marketplaces for genuine sellers.
Sorry I missed your comment. Yes they do and it drives me mad. Have tried so many times to get the police to take this scumbag down. He is still at it today.
Great video and useful for anyone buying a van.
Hope it helps someone out as it's easy to be taken in by these scumbags. Ian...
nice one bloody scammers !!!
Thieves.... I hate them. They want to take rather than earn like the rest of us.
Well done but you know or should do the police are just not interested they give you a number and fade in distance like the old cowboy films
Well I did my part and still do... if I spot dodgy sales I hound them.
@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans good man
Thank you for taking the time to help us would-be first-time-buyers.
It's a pleasure. It's what we do and if it helps someone then that's great. Good luck in your future purchase. Ian...
A salutary reminder to us all. Scary stuff.
It is that Sandra.... I was taken in for a few mins with the price. After a deep breath and a little research on google all became clear. Had to follow it all the way so I could share it with you all. Ian...
Very important. This guy (or group of guys) has been doing the rounds for a few years. eBay do not seem to be able to stop them and neither do the police. The more publicity they get the better it will be :-)
First I have seen of this type of scam. Thought I would see it through so I could share it. Ian...
Hi ian glad you shared this on going problems with scalers trying to trick people into thinking they getting a bargain like they say if it really cheap and it raises your eye brows there's something not right hear like u said do your home work first that is why I went with a dealership yes more money but safer aleast I can sleep at nite good luck with your caravan search .kev
I've got to be honest anyone who falls for this bloody deserves to be scammed. it's so easy to spot.
All l am going to say is well done ,thanks for the video.
If it helps just one person from falling victim to this then job done. Something I feel strongly about... thieves stealing peoples dreams.
Good one Ian. Sadly too many people are scammed in to parting with their money because they think they are getting a bargain. Great infovideo.
Thank you... so true sadly. So easy to get suckered in. Ian...
Well done hope they catch the scum bag and he rots in jail.
For some reason there are people that don't see through this and go along with it
Buyer Beware.
Indeed... I put together these videos just in the hope it highlights the problem.
Id stick to a dealer even for second hand! we bought a second hand Bailey last November from a dealer all serviced and registered I know you might pay a bit more from dealer but you have warranty
I agree... i was a little curious when I saw the price. Had to follow it through and thought it was worth a video to highlight the scammers. Ian...
@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans o I agree worth doing to warn other's on this scam! keep up the great Video's
Well done 👍
Thank you... these scumbags drive me mad.
Thank you
Your very welcome Karen... stay safe.
Very interesting video, more people aware the better, good luck with your search.
Thank you so much. Thank you for subscribing to our channel. Your support is appreciated. Thought this issue was worth reminding people just how easy it is to get sucked in to these type of scams. Ian...
Big talkback program on Australia’s ABC this morning on this very subject. Great video, thanks for sharing
So the scam is happing in Aus too... I have reported this to the police several times but it is still going on.
I had seen a similar caravan on eBay significantly cheaper than its market rate and it sounds like the same scam and alarm bells rang early on..you would hope they get caught one day!!!
I hate the idea someone is stealing peoples dreams. I will do the same if I find another scammer.
good on ya mate for pointing it out. years ago i got hacked on ebay and first i knew was when someone emailed from glasgow saying it a bit far to come and view their ferrari ? contacted ebay and my account had made over a hundreds bids on high end cars.
as they say "if it too good to be true......" check check and check again, sleep on it etc.
Thanks Paul... felt it was worth doing this video just to highlight how easy it is to get sucked in. Ian...
@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans keep up the good vids look forward to them thanks
One other option is to look for the pictures on the internet. There is something called Google Image the purpose of which is to allow image owners to find out if their work is being illegally used.. but if someone has used an image on the internet Google Image might just show you where it was uploaded. before
I hear about people losing their money to this scam all the time. Maybe I should look into doing another video on this subject.
Well done and thanks for highlighting
Thank you....
Thank for all that
Brilliant
Cheers Kevin.... some scumbags out there.
@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans I know ,I don't know how they sleep at night.
Thank you very much , these scam bags have no shame for the honest people !
Your welcome... scum needs to learn how to earn their money. Learn some self respect too while they are at it.
This has been a real eye opener for me, I watched up your vlog on this scam practice, then realised ,
I was dealing with the same scammer. Exactly the same reply from my enquiry, caravan was listed, @ a great price, but had no bid history on eBay auction. When I asked if it was still for sale lady replied asking me to correspond with her husbands email. Minutes later , he was on, an mail or 2 later he was offering to send the van to N.Ireland, through a transport carrier, ( escrow or Paypal pay later) @ no cost to me. I have since ,emailed him again asking if a friend of mine could call ,inspect, and hopefully collect the van for me. He replied, due to Covid-19 the only way was to have the van delivered tome on a sale or 5-day return basis, with my paying the transport handler up front. It’s ongoing will keep you informed.
Hi Kenneth... I have spent a year trying to get the Police to catch this scumbag. I have reported everything I know to them several times. I guess this guy is very good at covering his tracks or the Police are showing no interest due to cut backs maybe. Let me know how this unfolds for you please. Ian...
For The Love Of Caravans Ian high again, watched your vlogs on the new van, great watching, well on the scammer, I turned it full circle on him, told him the only way for me to do a deal with him was, my friend would call to check over the van, if all well, he would pay him cash, card , draft, PayPal, what ever he wanted, he replied no thanks. I then replied to him, what’s wrong Mark, do you think you are being scammed.
Then I contacted eBay, they are looking into it haven’t heard anything back yet, in the mean time I’ve been on looking on eBay again, as I am in the market for a caravan , I have come across another ,that looks like a scammer, can I contact you on a pm or email, I can send you copies of mails & replys, we should become scammer detectives.
Kind Regards Ken

Drives me insane Ian... these scum bags stealing peoples hard earned money. It struck a cord with me when I found this was a thing as caravans are my lifes love.
Excellent advice thank you...
Thanks Brian. Hope it helps in some way.
Well Done Ian 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Beverley... it's an on going. They are still at it today.
Great post 10/10
Thank you very much... just felt is was worthy of warning everyone.
What kind of buyer are you? There is a well known saying.....If it sounds too good to be True?...Then it IS!
This scam has been going on for years and years and one of the most common. Unfortunately there are still people being lured by the thought of a bargain and falling prey to these low lifes. Most of these scams are operated from countries such as Nigeria so there's no real risk of them getting caught and the police aren't usually interested because they know this.
Nice one Ian, very informative.
Thank you. Working on a follow up.
