Great advice, I've bought many things secondhand from waste master £20, hitch cover £3, nose weight gauge £6, full awning £60, all like new and great savings. I've just treated myself to a cadac but was £167 with discount in go outdoors when should around £230
Great advice. Most of this applies to motorhomes and campervan’s too. It’s surprisingly similar issues that always pop up. Thanks for all the tips, we are always learning 👍🏻 😄 Trev
Thanks Trev... I did Feel I was showing people how to suck an egg recording this series. Having said that I love all the advice you can find on RUclips and thank you all for helping us on our first couple of years caravanning. Ian....
Some good advice there. It is always worth looking out for the bargains and there's nothing wrong with secondhand items as long as they're still serviceable. They can always be replaced with new ones as they break/wear out. Amazon and Aldi are great for decent items for those on a budget.
We have bought new and used items. I do like a used bargain like our hitch cover £5 or our wheel lock for £25. To me it makes sense as it frees up caravan weekend away tokens. Happy days to us. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ian...
Great insight into the way to go, we’ve bought a few used items for our caravan trips. Search the right marketplaces and there are bargains to be had 👍🏼
When we brought our van, we also brought everything else at the same time, 6 months later most of it went in the bin. Wish there was a vlog on starter essentials when we started lol
Thank you. I am just hopeful it helps someone. For whatever reason we did not think to RUclips for advice, tips and tricks when we set out on our caravan adventure. We just went for it with some success and a lot of fails. Ian...
@@ForTheLoveOfCaravans When we started YT did not exist and we made lots of mistakes. I think I will get Lindsay to tell the tale of our very first trip :-)
You’ll be using your leisure battery without even knowing it, most items in the caravan run off 12volts, the gold light behind you for one. The caravan will have a charger built in which keeps the battery topped up while on site and connected to EHU, worth checking your battery is ok, it plays a big part.
We want a mover but decided to wait as we are hopefully upgrading soon. It will make life easier. Will look into how to fit and maybe fit myself. Ian...
Hi hope you are well. Hope you don't mind me asking. I've just bought our first caravan! Plenty of time to get excited. But we have family in Cheshire and sounds like you may be familiar with that neck of the woods. Are there any caravan sites down there you'd recommend?
Thanks... we are getting there. We have stayed at a couple in Cheshire. One being Blakemere Touring Park stayatblakemere.co.uk/tourers/ And the other one was Caravan club CL site called Yew Tree Farm www.yewtreefarmholidays.com/cl-caravan-site both are very nice sites. We have vlogged both sites.
I'm not sure why you would need either a water barrel or a waste master. The water barrel requires an expensive pump instead simply use a cheap plastic watering can. Instead of a waster master just use a pail. the most essential bit of kit for me is the awning and ground tarp (surprising how much due comes out at night). That along with a drill, very hard on the back leaning over to try and wind down and up the legs!
Barrel for running water. Waste master to dispose of your waste in a hygienic manner. These in my opinion are essentials as they make life easier and cleaner. Why buy a caravan with taps, sink, shower etc if your not going to use them? Each to their own I guess.
Hi Linda... we use a Bulldog heavy duty leveller. It slides either side of your wheel and you wind to it up and it lifts your caravan. I really should do a little vlog on it. If you search in google "Bulldog Heavy Duty Leveller" you will find it.

I love a bargain. Why pay more when items are still serviceable. More money for weekends away I say.
Another great episode, useful for all who may not know some of the equipment that is available and also how to get it cheaper 👍🏻
I thank you... 2 more parts too come. Ian...

Never stop learning Ian, I am happy to suck a few eggs to find the new tips and tricks out there. 👍🏻😄
Hi Ian. Some good advice there. We bought a used awning, aqua roll and wastemaster from friends. You don't have to buy all new. Thanks Phil👍
I am a sucker for getting a bargain. I actively seek them out. I get a little carries away lol. Ian...

We have had some success and some item that are gathering dust but overall we have spent well. Thanks for watching...
Good advice and crosses the MH and caravan boundary for many items :-)

Essentials to buy for the caravan. Bottle opener screwed on wall next to door. It can be used inside and in theawning
hahahaha I love that idea Patrick.

I found a motor mover with a new battery was essential for my drive way and tight spots on sites. You can save a lot of money by fitting it yourself.

Could I ask what is a leveler and how do you use it

You had to get the cough in didn’t you. Man flu get a grip 😂Joking aside useful info for beginners and so called expert too 👍🏻Thanks for sharing..
Hey... I have a Northern cold and cough. Not one of those southern softie colds. hahaha Thanks for watching Graham. Ian....
It's been 12 months
Are you looking to sell the van?
The Bailey sold in February, it sold within a few days of listing it on ebay. We have a 2014 Swift Challenger SE 645 twin axle now.
